Earlier last week, it was reported that this week would feature no Transformers/GI Joe comic releases, despite info provided from IDW editor Denton J. Tipton that stated otherwise. Today Diamond Comics updated their shipping page to reflect the full list of this week's comic releases. They state that the following Transformers titles will be released:

All Hail Megatron #10
Maximum Dinobots #5

In addition, the lists states that GI Joe: Cobra #2 is to be released that day as well. However, the third volume of IDW's reprint of Dreamwave's Transformers: Armada title (containing issues #12-#18) is curiously missing from the list, despite the fact that Denton mentioned it as being released this week.

Will it be among the items released this week? Only time will tell. In the meantime, you can see the full list of items to be released this week here.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

IDW Named Third-Largest Publisher

10-year-old publishing company reaches #3 in March based on Diamond sales figures

San Diego, CA (April 13, 2009) – Good things come in threes at IDW! Capping off a week of milestones, IDW is proud to enter the ranks of Diamond’s top three publishers for the first time in March. In addition to reaching third, IDW is also celebrating its tenth anniversary, and boasts five Eisner nominations, another new company record.

“This is a huge milestone for us, and the culmination of a decade of hard work by the many different people to have contributed to IDW over the years,” said Ted Adams, CEO of IDW. “We have a lot to be proud of as a company, and this is clearly a great beginning to our second decade.”

Throughout its history, IDW has strived to offer a wide array of comic books, graphic novels and classic books in every major entertainment genre. This broad appeal paid off in March, as several diverse titles helped IDW achieve huge unit sales.

Star Trek: Countdown, the official prequel to the much-anticipated motion picture, has consistently sold very well. As the movie release approaches, the Star Trek: Countdown trade paperback will be a much-read for Star Trek fans who want to fully understand the film. All four issues of Star Trek: Countdown are also available for download from iTunes.

IDW’s G.I. JOE books were also major sellers in March, with several different series bringing fans on new missions with their favorite JOEs. The continuing adventures of Joss Whedon’s fan-favorite vampire, Angel, was another lead seller for IDW in March, with multiple Angel storylines expanding on the universe left behind by the television show.

March was a great month of IDW’s many independent books, including the Eisner-nominated Locke & Key, The New York Times Best Selling Wormwood, and Groom Lake, a four-part tale of alien abductions and probings, conspiracies and secrets.

“IDW has always focused on producing quality comics and books, and it’s gratifying to see fans enjoying our books so much,” said IDW Publisher and Editor-in-Chief, Chris Ryall. “There is definitely a lot more great things to come for the company and our readers.”

The Universe of the Transformers is vast, and populated by many characters. Their universe is a large tapestry, made up of the stories and points of view of countless experiences that serve the larger whole.

These are some of those stories. This is:

[size=75">It should be noted that while this project has been recognized by IDW Publishing and Hasbro, none of the works presented have been commissioned or solicited by either company. Graham Crackers Comics have updated their website with their new shipping list, containing items that will be released Wendsday, April 15th. According to them, no new Transformers products are to be released that day. However, this runs contrary to what IDW Editor Denton J. Tipton has posted on his blog, From the Tip, which states that the following items are set to be released that day:

-All Hail Megatron #10
-Maximum Dinobots #5
-Armada Volume 3 TPB

Also according to Denton's blog, GI Joe: Cobra #2 is set to be released that day. This item is also not on the shipping list posted by Graham Crackers.

Are these items actually to be released next week? Or have they been delayed? Only time will tell. In the meantime, you can check out the full shpping list by clicking here. The final issue in the "Defiance" arc of the "Revenge of the Fallen: Destiny" Movie Prequel, written by Chris Mowry with artwork by Dan Khanna and Andrew Griffith, was released in comic shops across North America today, and within its pages is information about perhaps the most significant plot spoilers yet encountered about the upcoming sequel to the 2007 live action movie, set to be released June 24th.

It goes without saying that such information is a major spoiler for the movie, so those who wish to avoid such information need to stop reading.

What follows is the information presented in the comic.

The Fallen and his "brothers" were born on a terrestrial world where the Allspark was located. They learned that the energies of the Allspark were limited, and could only be restored through the destruction of a sun. In order to help them, the Allspark created workers who would go out and search for suns that would help to fuel the Allspark. These workers were the first Cybertronians. (Among which is Jetfire.)

The Fallen decides he wants the power of the Allspark for himself, but was trapped in his sarcophacus (the ancient relic discovered by the Transformers in Defiance #1), where he is to remain until the sun harvester is located and reactivated once more.

Given the amount of information previously revealed regarding certain elements of the movie's plot, it's safe to say that those wanting a complete picture of what happens now have it.

And that the Transformers universe, as crafted by Michael Bay, will never be the same again.

Transformers artist Casey Coller (Spotlight Blurr) has updated his DeviantArt page with five pages of lineart from Spotlight Drift.

The five pages of lineart are the same as those already released in their completed form thanks to Comics Continuum (as we reported earlier).

Spotlight Drift is available from today.

Also available today is the "Transformers Animated: The Arrival" trade paperback, written by Transformers Animated writer Marty Isenberg. The Arrival will also feature what is effectively The Arrival issue #6, which was previously only found in the Animated Entertainment Pack (featuring Safegaurd).

According to Transformers Animated Character Designer Derrick Wyatt:
Maybe if sales are good enough, we can entice Marty to do a sequel comic!

So to check out Casey's lineart for Spotlight Drift, please click here, and make sure to leave your thoughts, comments and questions in the Spotlight Drift Discussion thread.
