Once again, It's Hasbro Q&A Time! Submit your questions to us by September 12th. Remember to make your questions as engaging as possible. If your questions seem answerable by the general public, then the staff of Seibertron.com will likely answer your queries; hopefully with a bit more flavor than what you might be used to with Hasbro Q&A's.
While we do live in the wonderful world of free speech, there are a few of Hasbro's guidelines that need to be followed before submitting your questions!
Hasbro wrote:Unfortunately, there are some things that we cannot comment publicly on due to confidentiality, legal or competitive reasons. Examples of these types of questions are ones that relate to the upcoming TV series or movies that have not had details announced yet, “When will X toy be made/redesigned/released?”, Hypothetical scenarios or “what if questions”, Sales/Cost Data, Product Idea Submissions, Potential Design/Redesign and Future Movie/Entertainment.
With that said, that leaves a lot of room for a whole host of other discussion points. Topics that are open for discussion are things like Deco Decisions, Current Design Choices, Design Process/Development, Character choices and Redeco/Retooling choices. Also, questions pertaining to past and current Lore/Storyline, Line Strategy and Marketing are open for discussion too.
The Transformers team certainly appreciates our fans’ continued passion and dedication to Transformers and we look forward to another great year of Q&A.
We're looking forward to your Questions!

Hasbro have applied for four new trademarks: "SPARK YOUR SUMMER", "AUTOBOT ALLIANCE", "DESTINATION EARTH" and "UNLOCK THE SECRETS". Autobot Alliance is the name being used by Takara for Hunt for the Decepticons figures and Spark your Summer is reminiscent of Transform your Summer from 2007 but so far no solid information is known about these trademarks.
To update an earlier story, the crisis at Discovery Communications HQ is now officially over. Thankfully, everyone appears to be safe now, other than the gunman himself.
Here is an excerpt of the latest news, courtesy of AOL.
(Sept. 1) -- Police snipers this afternoon shot dead a gunman carrying a backpack full of possible explosives and freed the three people he had been holding hostage inside the headquarters of the Discovery Channel in Silver Spring, Md., authorities said.
All three hostages were safe, Montgomery County Police Chief Tom Manger said. He initially said police had shot the suspect but he did not know the man's condition. Police later confirmed the gunman was dead.
Seibertron.com's Delicon has been able to confirm that The Hub offices are in fact located in the same building as his brother-in-law is a Discovery employee who works at the same location.
Earlier today, a gunman, named James Lee, took the Discovery Channel's headquarters in Silver Spring, Maryland (outside of Washington, DC) hostage. The gunman is an activist with a slew of demands he wants broadcast that he feels will "save the planet". Authorities are assuming that the gunman, armed with a handgun, also has an explosive device due to a shiny object the gunman has. At this time, we are unable to verify whether or not The Hub is based out of this building. If it is, then this clearly is Transformers news related. We'll keep you posted in this topic as more information becomes available.
According to these numbers, we're more popular than the makers of our own toys! Seibertron.com's Facebook page has surpassed Hasbro's own number of fans recently, as you can see here.
We would like to thank our fans here, for participating and making us truly more than meets the eye. If you're on Facebook, check out our page by clicking here.
Takara Tomy's official website has updated with the figures due to be released in August and September, including some that were never released in the US.
The USPTO cites an existing trademark which is too similar to "Airachnid":
USPTO wrote:Registration of the applied-for mark is refused because of a likelihood of confusion with the mark in U.S. Registration No. 2917921.
...
Applicant’s mark, AIRACHNID, is highly similar to registrant’s mark, ARACHNOID. The marks are both intended to be plays on the word “arachnid,” and as such, are highly similar in impression. Additionally, the first portion of the marks, “AIRACHN” and “ARACHN” are nearly identical in sound and appearance, and the final portion “NID” and “NOID” is also highly similar. Note that slight differences in the sound of similar marks will not avoid a likelihood of confusion.
...
The highly similar wording raises the likelihood that a consumer may believe applicant’s goods to be related to registrant’s goods, and ultimately from the same source.
