An interesting little rumour this. Apparently, although the upcoming Galaxy Force TV series is due to be set in an all-new continuity, the actual storyline may be a little familiar, as it's going to be a re-telling of Micron Legend/Armada! Word has it that this is mostly due to the influence of GONZO, who didn't like the way that the last two series worked out......

Well, it seems the rumours were true - Newtype magazine have the next Transformers series will be called Galaxy Force in Japan (Cybertron in the west), and will be animated by top animation house Gonzo! As with Superlink, the show will mix regular animation with 3DCG, and is scheduled to begin showing in January 2005.

A blurry picture of what looked to be Convoy was circulating this week - this has been confirmed as the new design everyone's favourite Cybertron leader. A clear version of the picture can be view here (note what seems to be the lack of a mouth plate). There is also a black and white picture of the Destron leader Megatron (which sadly doesn't give away too much - although those do look like Unicron's shoulders....).

Several rumours are beginning to circulate today, regarding the follow-up to Transformers: Energon/Superlink!

Although we know the US subtitle of the next series will be Cybertron, word is that it's Japanese counterpart will be called Galaxy Force. There is also the suggestion that the animation will be produced by one of the hottest animation companies around, Gonzo (check out anime series such as Vandread and Yukikaze for examples of their work).

Finally, this image has surfaced on the internet, and is rumoured to be the 2005 incarnation of.....well, I'm sure you can work it out for yourselves....

Scramble City (1986, Japan) is a half-hour original animated video (OAV) that bridged the transition from the "contemporary" era of "Fight! Super Robot Life Transformers" to the year 2006. It was made by combining original animated footage with existing American cartoon clips into one fight-filled festival. The large Gestalts (Superion, Menasor, Bruticus, Devastator, and Defensor) played leading roles, while Trypticon, Ultra Magnus, and Metroplex make brief appearances. The name comes from the story´s premise of "scramble power." The Gestalts could rearrange their limbs (swapping an arm for a leg, for instance) to gain advantage in battle. Check out the ALL NEW Scramble City Revisited screen capture gallery here. This screen capture gallery has been left intact - and includes the recap images from other G1 episodes as well as the new animation.

According to a press release from Hasbro, the Transformers: Go-Bots line will get a new figure that sounds a bit like Ultra Magnus or Optimus Prime (a massive tractor-trailer capable of hauling 2 Go-Bots toys) AND an animated series!
