Auto Assembly Unveil Economy Tickets

Transformers News: Auto Assembly Unveil Economy Tickets

Simon Plumbe of Auto Assembly has passed us the following information on economy priced tickets that are being made available for the event.
Auto Assembly 2004 Economy Tickets Unveiled
Auto Assembly 2004, the UK Transformers convention taking place on 8th-9th May 2004 in Birmingham, England is now able to offer a reduced price ticket option for those of you planning on attending and paying on the door...
As standard, everyone attending Auto Assembly 2004 will receive a copy of the convention magazine, The Cybertronian Times and this year the magazine features brand new cover artwork from Lee Sullivan and has a range of features, articles, fiction, interviews and much more. However, because of the cost of producing this magazine we will not be able to print vast quantities of this in advance and we can only guarantee that those who have pre-booked will receive the magazine on arrival, with many having it posted after the convention.
If you are planning on paying on the door and are not interested in the magazine, we are able to offer a cut-price "economy" ticket. This offers basic admission to the convention but it does NOT include the magazine as part of the package. You will still get the free gifts provided by our sponsors while supplies last, but not the magazine. However, you will be able to get into the convention at a reduced rate.
These economy tickets will be very limited in availability so we would still strongly recommend pre-booking for the convention, but the economy tickets that are available will be at the following rates:
Adult: £6 single day, £12 weekend
Student/OAP: £5, £11 weekend
Child: £4, £10 weekend
saving £3 off the standard admission price!
This package isn´t intended to undermine those who have already pre-booked for the convention, but we know that many of those wanting to pay on the door would rather pay a reduced rate rather than wait for a second printing of the magazine. We are aware of fan frustration in the past from other sci-fi events where fans have been left waiting for convention merchandise long after the convention has happened and we wanted to offer fans the chance to avoid any unnecessary delays.
We are also looking at the possibility of having a VERY LIMITED number of tickets available to Saturday attendees for the Saturday night programme which is available to weekend attendees only. This will be dependent on the number of weekend bookings and will be restricted in numbers. If we are able to offer these, we will announce details, prices and availability after the charity auction on the Saturday afternoon.
For more details on the convention, see the website or email us for more details. We can take bookings online and full details are on the website.

You can visit the Auto Assembly website here.

For the UK Transfans, the organizers of Auto Assembly 2004 sent along this information for those wishing to attend!

We´ve had a lot of people asking us about booking deadlines for this year´s Auto Assembly convention here in the UK on 8th-9th May 2004 in Birmingham, England and we thought it was time to clear things up and make the absolute deadlines clear to everyone!

The booking deadlines still have some flexibility to them, even though the convention is just over two weeks away, depending on your method of payment, where you live, and whether you are willing to pick up your tickets on the day itself.

- Postal Bookings -
For UK postal bookings paying via cheque, bookings must reach us by no later than 31st April 2004 in order for your tickets to be posted to you and for payment to be cleared. If you are paying by cash, postal order or PayPal, we can accept postal bookings up to 6th May 2004 but your tickets will only be available for collection and PayPal payments MUST be received before the convention takes place. In every case, we MUST have a valid email address and phone number on your form to confirm safe arrival of your form.

For overseas bookings, payments should be made by PayPal only and we recommend that you make sure that forms reach us by 5th May 2004. We would also ask that you email us with details of your booking to ensure that if your form does not reach us in time that we have your details and can process your booking.

- Electronic Bookings -

Bookings made electronically using our downloadable forms/PayPal must reach us by 6th May 2004 with payment also reaching us by then once you have been invoiced. Ticket will be available for collection on the day.

- Personal Bookings -

There will be some of you wanting to attend who live locally to the covention area or who are travelling to Birmingham prior to the convention. If you come to the convention hotel on the night before from 6:00 pm you will be able to pre-book your ticket the night before if you come to the main hall on the second floor of the hotel. However, you will need to phone us first on +44 (0)7860 948296 to confirm that you will be doing this first so we will be expecting you as Friday night access is reserved for guests, staff and dealers.

- Non Attendee Packs -

To ensure that your non-attendee package can be processed and you can participate in the auction on Saturday 8th May, we will need all non-attendee packs to be paid for by 9:00 pm GMT on the 6th May 2004 when you will be contacted with details on how to take part in the auction.

Tickets are still available for this convention and more details can be found on the site, along with downloadable booking forms and further details on the convention itself including its guest line-up including Transformers voice actor Wally Wingert, activities, charity auction and much more.

Tickets are just £15 for the full weekend and include a pack of goodies including a 56 page colour convention magazine and other free gifts including convention exclusive postcards with art from Andrew Wildman, Transformers stickers, magazines, free snacks and more.

For more information, visit the website or email us for more details. We can take bookings online and full details are on the website.
