Just when you thought the barrage of Energon gestalt prototypes was over, we now have a picture of a third team leader, apparently called '
Barricade'! We have two (slightly blurry) pictures for your viewing pleasure, the figure in

Transformers Scribe Extraordinaire Hits Milestone With ENERGON #30 and #31
Transfans everywhere,
We have all have known Simon Furman’s work and loved it for years. Here at Dreamwave we have to admit we’ve read the other TRANSFORMERS comics series, created nearly twenty years ago, by MARVEL. Furman made the TRANSFORMERS his specialty when he penned storylines that captured TF fan’s imaginations like the famous “Primal Screamâ€, “Matrix Quest†or “The Last Autobot†tales, giving imaginative adaptations in both the American and UK versions of GENERATION ONE.
We all remember him galvanizing unique personalities to soon-to-become fan favorites like UNICRON, GALVATRON or BLUDGEON. Creating stories that were often incredibly complex, yet with absorbing elegance, Furman did things no writer had thus far with the ‘bots.
When Simon created the incredible War Within chronicles he left fans aching for more. And now, Simon is writing the ARMADA/ENERGON series – which gets to this exciting highlight of his TF career. When issue # 31 comes out, Simon will actually surpass his original run with the MARVEL TF series!
Remember Transfans, Simon Furman truly is the one man who can say he has been working on TRANSFORMERS for the past twenty years. This is why Dreamwave is pleased as punch to have had him aboard for our TRANSFORMERS titles. “"Hard to believe, but another TRANSFORMERS milestone beckons for me with Issue #30 of Armada/Energon, equaling my run on the US G1 comic. When Issue #31 comes out, it will put me in uncharted territory! Scary... but nice!†Simon says, “And to think -- it all started with a fill-in. All I have to do now is beat the legendary Bob Budiansky and his 50 or so issues! Stay tuned. By the way, those issues (Energon #30 & 31) are going to rock. Big time!â€
Check out Issue # 30 and # 31 of TRANSFORMERS: ENERGON and be part of TRANSFORMERS history!

TVShowsOnDVD.com has posted a major follow up to last month's news about the upcoming American DVDs
here.
Rhino says "no dice" on the Japanese exclusive Transformers Headmasters series at this time, which means no Masterforce, Victory, or Zone. Sad, but true (though I hear there are some nice Korean knock-offs of the Japanese DVDs floating around the 'net right now).
It appears that Rhino is unsure about Armada and Beast Machines at this time. Given the fact that Paramount is getting involved with the Transformers - perhaps on more than just a DVD level as well (Remember that live action movie that has been extremely hush-hush for the past 8 months???) - I am not surprised that we are hearing some wishy-washy crap about the rest of the Transformers series.
Beast Machines will begin receiving
a Canadian release on August 10th (next month). Here's the information from
Amazon.com about this product:
Beast Machines Transformers (Episodes #1-5)
Release Information:
Studio: Hgv Video Production
DVD Release Date: August 10, 2004
Edition Details:
• Region 1 encoding (US and Canada only)
• Language: English
• ASIN: B0002GTWMO
Beast Wars Season 3 release date: August 24th, 2004 (List price is $24.95). The season 3 DVD set contains the following episodes:
Optimal Situation
Deep Metal
Changing of the Guard
Cutting Edge
Feral Scream Part One
Feral Scream Part Two
Proving Grounds
Go With The Flow
Crossing the Rubicon
Master Blaster
Other Victories
Nemesis Part One
Nemesis Part Two
And finally, it is now known that Paramount owns the rights to the Transformers: Energon series, as confirmed by Rhino Video. These images of 2 of Paramount's DVDs assumed scheduled for an October release can be found at the following links:
The Battle for Energon featuring Dreamwave's artwork
The Return of Megatron featuring Dreamwave's artwork

Apparantly, the National Geographic premiere of
CoolQuest tonight at 8:00pm (Eastern time) on
MSNBC will feature a segment on the Transformers. It has been reported that a television preview showing the host, Lisa Ling, discussing what is considered to be popular these days, and one of which being the Transformers while showing some figures including Energon Bulkhead and Alternator Silverstreak. However an
online preview of the show has no mention of the Transformers.
** UPDATE FROM SEIBERTRON **
MSNBC just finished airing the segment on their
CoolQuest show tonight about just what exactly is "cool". Takara was featured because of all of the fascinating products they produce in Japan, including "one of the most popular boys toy lines of all time - the Transformer(s)".
It was pretty cool to see inside of Takara's offices. One of the employees at Takara demonstrated the Binaltech Silverstreak to the reporter because she owned the station wagon version (hatchback?) of the Subaru. We also got a sneak peak at a white repaint of Energon Landmine as well as the Mazda Meister.
The article about tonight's CoolQuest can be found
here. Unfortunately, the article doesn't actually mention Takara by name nor does it mention the Transformers. The closest thing that the article mentions about Takara from the show is "a device that allows people to program their own dreams", a creation from Takara.
I'm not quite sure when the episode will rerun later tonight, but I would keep an eye on their
schedule for more details.
Awesome segment ... did anyone record it by any chance?
