The time is fast approaching for the Seibertron.com Twincast Podcast's milestone 200th episode. We're extremely excited to bring you this one, and we've already got a stellar interview recorded and waiting in the wings with the fan-favorite, egotistical, and downright charming Nick Roche! Known for his work on the classic Last Stand of the Wreckers, the cold yet beautiful Sins of the Wreckers, and the upcoming Requiem of the Wreckers, you won't want to miss this one.
Of course, that won't be the entire episode, and for the rest we're looking to enlist your help! There are even choices on how you can contribute:
Listener Voicemail
Got a short topic or a question for the Twincast? Send us a question via "voicemail", and we'll find the best ones to playback and answer on the show. Don't have a burning question? That's ok too, just send a greeting, congratulations, or (kind hearted) insult that we can play back at the end of the episode!
Record however you'd like, but please, keep it mostly clean and keep it short - no multi-minute rants! If you have an iPhone or iPad, you can even just fire up your Voice Memo app and then send us the file. Just about any audio format should work, but please try to keep it to a standard such as mp3 (preferred), m4a, mp4, or wav. Once you've got your clip recorded, send it over by email to podcast "at" seibertron.com (just be sure to replace the "at" with @ - left it out here so the spam bots don't destroy us!)
Favorite Clip
Too shy to record, or don't feel like you have anything you want to say? Well, you can still be awesome and help! Reply to this topic and let us know your favorite sound bite from Twincast history, and it may be included in a special audio montage. Just be sure to include the episode number and at least an approximate time stamp where your short, favorite clip resides so we don't delay the episode while looking for clips.
Deadline
Please submit any "voicemails" or clip suggestions by Thursday, May 17th at 6:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time (22:00 UTC) to give us time to find the best ones, prepare our answers, and get everything patched together.
We look forward to hearing how you'll help us shape this special moment in Twincast Podcast history!
Welcome to the latest episode of the Seibertron.com Twincast / Podcast. This episode features your host ScottyP along with Razorclaw0000 who immediately misses a joke, Megatronus who is immediately late, and RodimusConvoy13 who is entirely to blame for the contents of this episode. The weird side of Transformers is here and breakfast can wait! Join us on one bogus adventure, won't you?
Episode #199 "Like It's 199(9)" is available directly and in our RSS Feed, and should appear on iTunes, Google Play, and Stitcher Radio within 24 to 48 hours of when you see this news post.
We start off with some movie talk. Specifically, Bumblebee. Not the weirdness that was promised by the opening paragraph, is it? We'll get there after sharing some luke-warm takes based on secondhand accounts of a teaser trailer. Does this movie have a little more heart and a little less Bayhem, and is that a positive development if so? Most of the cast seems to think so! Plus, with one minor comment about a "blue and red" Starscream, our Armada-obsessed fanboys cast members take that idea too far.
Female character not bent over the hood suggestively? Yep, something's different.
Hasbro has aquired the Power Rangers intellectual property, and this is indeed, um, news. To someone. More importantly, what are some of the business impacts that this could have, especially given Takara Tomy and Bandai's very competitive relationship overseas? Megatronus arrives to lead this discussion as we look at the business side as well as Megazord engineering.
Does this make me a Disney Princess?
While Transformers has "crossed over" with various properties since the early days of the franchise - Spider-Man and GI JOE in the Marvel G1 comics, for instance - we've done the "What should Transformers crossover with" discussion before. This time, we change it up a bit and find definitive, correct, and canonical answers to questions no one has before asked or will ever want to again.
"I 'member!"
Questions asked include:
If the Transformers were to be foes with a crossover property, who'd be the most likely to succeed in killing all the Transformers, or at least be the most effective at doing so?
If the Predacons (G1, Beast Wars, etc; it is left up to the person answering) were to be friends with a crossed over property, what would that look like?
It looks funky. But it tastes fun-kay!
Things continue with wacky crossover questioning, and they really begin to get strange:
Which Transformer would win a cooking competition show and why? Which cooking competition show is it?
What group of Transformers could win the Stanley Cup, an NBA Championship, or the Premier League?
Which crossover property or characters from the property could live in peace on Cybertron with the Cybertronians and why?
In which other non-Transformers universe could G1 Megatron win an election peacefully?
Next time on "Beat Bobby Flay"
We close things out with possibly the most important question:
Transformers: Cybertron had toy bios that canonically established some characters as toy collectors (most famous example: Shortround and his unreleased G2 collection.) Which Transformer is the best at collecting your favorite non-Transformers toy line and why?
We come up with some pretty good and pretty bad ideas. Be sure to comment on this episode's topic in our Energon Pub Forums to tell us which podcaster is definitively, definitely correct.
This was a fun way to play with Transformers
Moving on from the wacky, we go serious and discuss recent Transformers comics. Up first is Optimus Prime #18 and #19. Check out our double review here. We completely spoil a major twist, so consider yourself extra warned! More importantly, we dive in to the aftermath of Onyx Prime's arrival and the reveal that Onyx Prime isn't who we thought he is. Or is he? Misdirection within, as we talk about the "Prime of Lies"!
No caption needed. Wait. This is a caption!
After Optimus we take a look at Free Comic Book Day's Unicron #0. Unicron is quickly making meals of Cybertronian colonies, and while it looks like many of Rom the Spaceknight's Elonian race is saved, what price is paid for the lives saved? We discuss a short, yet jam packed and beautiful issue. Plus - how did Pat Lee possibly influence a panel!?
"For a time I considered sparing your wretched publisher, IDW, but now you shall witness... its dismemberment!"
We wrap things up with the Great Springtime Toy Drought of 2018. It happens every year, and we're used to it, so how are we getting through it? Are we getting comic collections, backfilling older Transformers toy lines, or not reading the entire question in the agenda like RodimusConvoy13? How are you getting through it?
Did you read the entire agenda, RodimusConvoy13?
That's all for now. Next episode: Episode 200, featuring some writer from some series no one's heard of. He drew Spiderman too, whoever that is. Oh, yeah and our 200th episode might have some other special things too, so we hope you'll join us for that special occasion!

Welcome to the latest episode of the Seibertron.com Twincast / Podcast! This episode features your host ScottyP (back from a much needed vacation) along with Starscream and Razorclaw0000 as we dish on a massive amount of Movie toys and more. Wade into the Bayhem with us below!
Episode #198 "A Night in the Studio" is available directly and in our RSS Feed, and should appear on iTunes, Google Play, and Stitcher Radio within 24 to 48 hours of when you see this news post.
First up, we talk about the recently available Studio Series Leader Grimlock and Blackout, and Voyagers Starscream and Optimus Prime. We discuss comparisons to previous figures, scale, articulation, alt modes, engineering, and much more!
He just needs a hug
Following up, we discussed availability and in-hand impressions of (currently) Toys'R'Us-exclusive Studio Series Thundercracker. We speculate on eventual availability at other chains, after-market prices, and discussion of the figure itself.
Wazzpinator blue now
We then take a quick hop to Takara-land and discuss the recent Movie The Best figures as well as how Movie the Best and Studio Series fit together as a whole. We talk through some of the gems in the line, and the future of the movie toys. The cast works together here to find out if both MB and Studio Series can live together in harmony on your shelf.
We are going to be insane on the secondary market in a few years
Closing out our movie discussion, Scotty gives us a great in-hand preview of MPM-5 Barricade. While not generally available yet, many of our sponsors have this figure in stock or have available pre-orders. We chat about many of the details, including complexity, articulation, accessories, size, and more.
Are you username Ladiesman217?
Next, Starscream gives us an overview of Dairycon, which recently held its 18th annual convention in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. We discuss the dealer room, growth of the convention, exclusives, and general atmosphere, comparing it to other unofficial fan-run conventions. Might there even be some luck involved? Maybe the kind that's drawn!?
Puns... everywhere!
We next touch on some listener discussion from Episode 197. In this segment we talk about a potential timeline for IDW's reboot, and the merits and drawbacks of both immediately rebooting and waiting.
We bring the show to a close with some quick discussion on some recent toy news, including the availability of Authentics at Market 6 retailers, an Armada-inspired Nemesis Prime, and the long-awaited release of LG-EX Greatshot and Grand Maximus. We wrap things up with a quick "Bragging Rights" section.
Imagine trying to explain this to yourself from 2008...

Welcome to the latest episode of the Seibertron.com Twincast / Podcast! This episode harkens back to days long past as it features your host Counterpunch along with Razorclaw quadruple zeroes and Tiiigertraackk. Our trio discusses a few of the latest news topics, but then delves into some places and questions that will challenge current and long time fans to really establish their ground rules for some of the Transformers long taken for granted history, abilities, and more. Who's right? Who's not? Is everyone wrong and you're right? We welcome your respectful and disrespectful discourse afterward in the thread.
Episode #197 "Alpha Lyin' and Liege Factimo" is available directly and in our RSS Feed, and should appear on iTunes, Google Play, and Stitcher Radio within 24 to 48 hours of when you see this news post.
In the first 1/3 of the show the crew talks recent news. At first we rattle on about the recent in-hand images of the Transformers Movie Studio Series toys, that fans are finding them in stores.... and our current feelings for the line based on the new images ( nobody on the show had any experience of their own with them yet).
At that point we delve into the sad news for all toy collectors: all US Toys R' Us Stores are closing and the experiences that we've had with TRU recently, including during the liquidation sales starting. Will this change our buying habits? Are we broken up about it? Hmmm...
Think about what you think the correct answer is to these questions...and then take us to task on our responses...
1.) Transformers have been at war for over 4 million years our time, according to records. Does that make them really bad at war, really good at war, or serving a larger purpose to the galaxy/universe as a whole?
2.) What should everyone consider to be canon? What do you consider to be canon? Can everyone have their own official canon? Or do you just pull an Ultra Magnus and, "...not deal with that now...?"
3.) Why don't more Transformers change alt-modes more often? Do they not have the ability? Does it take to much energy? Is it...TABOO!? ...wear out your t-cog? Let us know are you functionist in your thinking, or do you think everyone is alt mode exempt as long as it's not effecting someone else's happiness? Okay that really doesn't have to do with changing alt mode forms more often, generally...
4.) What are the possibilities that a Transformer has with it's mechanical components (keep it clean)? When they create or grow weapons in themselves (like missiles, arm cannons) and then use them is this painful, and life-threatening due to shooting your own life at another Transformer (your energy) to possible make them lose more of theirs? And where do fire-breathing Transformers create the fire that they use at will? Especially when being on a planet with not much carbon-life. What's the limit on Brainstorm's and Ironfist's endless experiments with 'super weaponry'? Why aren't all the Decepticons dead from 'glass gas induced structural failure'?
As you can imagine these questions led to some pretty fun conversations. Counterpunch put us through the ringer with this one, but what we'd really like to hear is what you think about these topics that maybe you never really took the time to think about before. Because maybe you didn't care...
...but we cared enough to try, and we think you should too! After you've listened to the episode, yes we throw in just a couple of bragging rights at the end, please tell us your ideas and feel free to tell us about what we managed to forget.

Welcome to the latest episode of the Seibertron.com Twincast / Podcast! This episode features your host ScottyP with Megatronus and RodimusConvoy13. Listen in as we discuss the latest news, toys, and more.
Episode #196 "One With The Matrix" is available directly and in our RSS Feed, and should appear on iTunes, Google Play, and Stitcher Radio within 24 to 48 hours of when you see this news post.
TRU is dead. Long live the... department store chains? Toys 'R' Us is defunct, at least in the United States, and while many (including the Twincast) have discussed the emotional response many are having to the news, we take time this episode to talk business. How did this series of unfortunate events comes about? How are Hasbro, Mattel, and other toy makers handling the news? Perhaps most importantly, where will the business go?
Nostalgia, dammit!
A skillful segue later, and we're into TRU Exclusive Studio Series Thundercracker. All hail Nitro Zeus repaints! The Twincast, while slightly confused about how this particular character choice fits into the 'movie accurate' Studio Series, is interested in acquiring what will likely be the last TRU exclusive Transformer out there.
Too ugly... or just ugly enough?
Power of the Primes reveals have kept apace, and we're faced with redeco-aggedon. While we are not exactly thrilled with Voyager Inferno and Legends Outback & Cindersaur, we are not displeased either. Meanwhile, Megatronus smells victory as a prospective PotP Wreck-Gar finally brings a Junkion combiner into the realm of possibility. Still... does every motorcycle have to be redone as Wreck-Gar? (Yes.)
Fine, just... fine.
Friend of the Twincast Skullcrunchberries has a listener question about a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad man on the inter-webs who counterpunched him (hint, hint) into getting back into the Transformers hobby. How, he asks, did the rest of the Twincast get back in the game? Whatever our answers... it's pretty clear we're in the thick of it.
Ugh.
We have another listener question on our docket. Acesmcgee asks: "my daughter and I have been having a blast making Skylinx walk around the house and it has had me pondering what my favorite gimmick that I can recall from past and present lines has been, and for me it turned out to be simple, light-piping that gives a sense of life to my TFs. What is yours?"
Head on!
We move on to comics, particularly the recent Optimus Prime Annual 2018 - Seibertron review, here. While disappointing in its lack of title character, the issue is a delightfully campy romp through the eyes of Thundercracker, who is charged with making a film to prop up Starscream. The Twincast enjoys this issue greatly, and we do our best to parse the more serious and character defining gems held within.
The Twincast / Podcast: keepin' it classy like Trypticon!
Lost Light 16 is next - Seibertron review here. This issue is full of character work, vignettes, and exposition. In other words, it doesn't push the plot very far... until the end, that is. Still, the Twincast finds value in this odd situation of being dead, err, one with the matrix, and teases out where this strange predicament might lead.
That's a, err, um... a big matrix.
We conclude this episode, like we always do, with bragging rights. What has the Twincast managed to find since our last recording?
Flywheels, please.

Turn on your cloaking device because it's time to Wreck 'n Rule once again with the Seibertron.com Twincast / Podcast. This latest episode features the G2 host Scotty P as he's joined by Aligned Megatronus and Binaltech Asterisk Car Robot RodimusConvoy13. With the fan vote done for another year and the malaise of the springtime upon us, get ready for some takes on all the latest in Transformers that aren't quite hot yet because they need some time to thaw before we can bake them, ok?
The results are in for the latest Generations Fan Vote, with the winning duo of Deluxe Class figures (each sold separately) announced as Impactor and Mirage. Despite the presence of Classics Mirage, Combiner Wars Mirage, Generations Impactor, and the TFCC Subscription Service Impactor, it seems fans can't get enough of certain characters - or want a proper Transformers toy of Impactor at any rate. Is it the power of comics, or is it something else altogether? Hang on tight as this topic journeys into the wild and goes for quite a long time, with opinions and musings about why some characters keep coming up in plastic form time and again.
Third time's the charm?
Wave 2 of Power of the Primes has been out for at least a couple weeks now, and with our impressions of the Voyagers cut short during the last episode we take some more time to examine them in detail. RodimusConvoy 13 also tells us about the pair of Deluxe Class figures he's had the opportunity to find and purchase in Rippersnapper and Moonracer. Even Rodimus Unicronus and his questionable facial hair decisions get a mention as we hang out and chat about our newest toys.
There is a question of "u"s and "r"s still at large.
As the G1 line of the week winds down, another line is winding up in the form of the Movie Studio Series. Listeners of our last episode may remember that Scotty P was one of the early adopters over Toy Fair weekend when the Movie Studio Series Wave 1 Deluxe figures went up for a limited time sale on Hasbro Toy Shop. With these figures in hand, the team discusses the highlights of the wave and even some of the drawbacks too. Plus, we pretend we know anything at all about marketing, but really we're just disappointed that these aren't quite the premium line-up they're hyped up to be.
The idea gets full marks, the execution not so much.
The toy talk carries on further and into the latest releases and rumors in the Masterpiece lineup. MP-40 Targetmaster Hot Rod has arrived with a fun new deco and another shot for collectors to pick up the Targetmaster Firebolt accessory that was included with the older Hasbro release of the first Masterpiece Rodimus Prime. Of course, there are also comparisons to be made to MP-28, the first Masterpiece Hot Rod.
Then we pick up on the "basically news" that a third version of a G1 styled Masterpiece Optimus Prime is on the way. No one is surprised and the cast is encouraged, as we discuss other incarnations of the character from the Masterpiece lineup such as the first release of MP-1 Convoy. Of course, there is also some talk about room for improvement that could be available when considering MP-10, the first Masterpiece of the bygone "Super Car" era for the line.
"Next time on Car Talk..."
We go full on 90s next, with ad-hoc Recommendations From Another Time! This new segment covers some toys you may have overlooked, and possibly even some you'll never be able to afford. We follow the trail set upon us by the ghost of a dead Battle Beast to go off the beaten trail once again. What on Cybertron is this paragraph talking about? You'll have to tune in to hear the sort-of rules for the segment before you hear our random recommendations.
Acesmcgee wrote:So I saw the video by Gotbot, I think, where he modded his POTP Rodimus. So my question is, what is the most extreme modification you've made to your transformers, if any?
Broken necks everywhere, if it ain't about the money Puff he just don't care.
The hour gets a little late, so before we fall asleep in front of the microphones we pick up the pace and mention our favorite art and story moments from Optimus Prime 16. This second part of "The Falling" story arc has excited us and continues to build the excellent character of Soundwave within IDW's Transformers comics. Listen in to hear about what great moments there are in store within this latest chapter of the series.
Ironhidensh wrote:If, say, a content provider that is actually good, like Netflix or Amazon, decided to put out an adult/older fan oriented cartoon, would you want an all new story line? Or one based off of past or current comics?
Jelly level: Can you see if there's another seat on the bus to Jelly School?
While the 16th issue will be upon us soon, that means it's a good time to again go through our favorite parts of a comic with Lost Light #15. The Scavengers' part of the tale comes to an end, with answered questions, new mysteries, and significant developments for at least one classic character. Join us as we roar to the rescue and explore answers definitely not provided by any Magnificence.
You know, this means all the Dinobots are Dads to Protoforms now. Just sayin'.
We wind down with the Twincast doing something it promised it would never do: break news. Well, kind of. Maybe. Let's not actually call it that. Rumors and hearsay that have a chance of being right are presented for your consideration, and time will tell if they end up being the ultimate plan. What are we talking about? Here's a hint.
Will anyone else attempt to fill IDW's shoes? This hint is terrible and not useful.

The Big Apple hosted a huge event over the weekend for toy enthusiasts of all types...Toyfair 2018! This gathering held big dreams and hopes for Transformers fans as we looked for reveals of the magnitude that we've come to expect from such past experiences. We waited, somewhat impatiently by our social media feeds, and finally it came. Did the show end up being more of a toy-unfair, or were we done a titan class solid by Hasbro? Opinions vary, but you can hear the thoughts of our host ScottyP joined by xRotorstormx, and Tigertrack, with special guest appearances by Seibertron and friends live from New York! That doesn't quite sound like enough for you? Megatronus also landed an interview with the HASBRO brand team!
Our talkative trio wasted no time mincing the small stuff, we jumped right in to discuss the largest and most anticipated reveal, Titan Class Power of the Primes Predaking! More than wings this time, the show had the full-on painted reveal of this monstrous bots' combined mode, as well as, the individual animal, and bot modes. Our crew had some things to say about it...some good, some bad, but we want to know what did you think? Was it what you pictured in your mind's eye? You can refresh your memory by checking out Predaking's Toy Fair 2018 gallery.
You can imagine that big bot took a big chunk of time in discussion, but we also managed to talk about another fairly large bot, Power or the Prime's leader-class Optimal Optimus which also made a splash in the display. Beast Wars fans get a treat as this triple-changing favorite is updated and seems ready to make it straight into our collections. You can use this gallery to re-acquaint yourself to POTP's Optimal Optimus on display at toyfair.
Yes indeed, the cast did also find time to talk a little bit about Abominus, Terrocons, Nova Star, and the newly revealed Prime masters: Bomb-burst, Bludgeon, and Octopunch! Cute, and yet awesome! Check out the Power of the Primes Toyfair gallery to refresh yourself on the new offerings.
Host ScottyP also does a quick in hand check on the POTP Hungrr (Hungurr, Hunger?) mold versus the Combiner Wars Silverbolt mold. Shared parts..more?...less?
But it's not all about the Power of the Primes. The Movie Studio Series was also bantered around and it seems there was much to delight the movie toy collector in the forms of leader-class Blackout and Grimlock, and several other interesting new offerings. Oh, did you know there's a gallery for the Movie Studio series at Toyfair too? (Sorry folks, I mistakenly referred to Brawl as a deluxe in the show, but he's listed as a voyager.)
ScottyP scored most of the wave 2 Power of the Primes toys at retail, and he couldn't stop gushing about Battletrap, Roadtrap, and Battleslash...and the changeable pants! Have you managed to find any of the wave 2 offerings at retail yet? All classes (legends - Battleslash, Roadtrap, and Tailgate; deluxes - Dinobots Snarl and Sludge, Terrorcon Rippersnapper, Moonracer, and Blackwing; voyagers- Hun-grr, and Elita-One; and finally, leader - Rodimus Unicronus) have now been found out in the wild! You may want to get your hunt on...
Somewhere in the middle of it all we touch on the new fan vote, also. Versus sets (choosing one of the three) or 3 new figures and you're choosing between the two in each set? Nah, it's the first.
And to conclude the show, are Seibertron and friends (unavailable, but credit deserving was fellow podcaster Megatronus!). After a long day of photographing and reporting, these toy aficionados share about the experience and how they felt upon being in the audience of the presentation and able to experience the new reveals with their own eyes.
A post-script conclusion: Megatronus (mentioned earlier) interviewed the HASBRO brand team over the weekend too. We've added the interview to the podcast as a listener bonus! You can check out a summarized text version of the interview in this news post.
Thanks for joining us for another filled-to-the-brim with transforming roboty goodness episode. Please join us next time, as we move one step closer to our our grand bicentennial episode.

Another of the figures on display in the Hasbro showroom over in New York City in occasion of the Toy Fair 2018 was the collaboration effort between Hasbro and Takara Tomy on the Movie Masterpiece line - in fact, the sixth figure in the series: MPM-6 Ironhide!
We've seen preliminary images just earlier, but our new gallery shows some more to the weapons specialist, with a sneaky apperance from Decepticon Barricade, too. Check out a preview below of this GMC licensed alt-mode sporting Autobot, remember his vicious and sad demise in the Paramount live-action movie series, and join the conversation in the Energon Pub!
The next gallery from the Transformers: Power of the Primes section of the Hasbro Showroom at New York Toy Fair 2018 comes in the multitude that is the presence of the Terrorcons and their combined form Abominus, the deluxes Moonracer and Nova Star that will join the Elita-Infin1te combiner, plus Legend class Battleslash and Roadtrap and their combined form Battletrap.
Check out below a selection of the newer figures from the displays, including the original names of the Terrorcon team, with Voyager and torso Hun-Gurrr, and limbs Rippersnapper, Blot, Cutthroat, and Sinnertwin. You also get closeups of Prime Masters and Decoy Suits featuring Bludgeon, Octopunch, and more. Click on any image for the full gallery!
Another gallery from Seibertron directly from New York City and the Toy Fair 2018 brings us the big, but not biggest, full colour reveal from the Hasbro Showroom - the protagonist of the Power of the Primes line under many aspects, and definitely the boss bot many will remember from childhoods: leader class Optimal Optimus, the winner of the 2017 fan vote!
The gallery, which you can view in full here, accompanies the initial look we reported on here and the official image posted by Transformers Facebook earlier today. Check out a selection below, spotlighting the two main modes for the Evolved version, and the Optimus Primal sk8r munky mode looking proud!
