7-Eleven®’s Superhero Summer Continues with Tie-in to Much-Awaited TRANSFORMERS Movie Sequel

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--It’s summertime, which means it’s superhero time – on the big screen and at 7-Eleven® stores. This month, 7-Eleven celebrates the much anticipated next installment of the TRANSFORMERS movie franchise by rolling out the new BUMBLEBEE Blast Slurpee® flavor, collectible 3D cups and a refillable mug, character-straws and an online sweepstakes. The film “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” from DreamWorks Pictures and Paramount Pictures, in association with Hasbro, Inc., debuts in theaters June 24.

“The first TRANSFORMERS movie broke attendance records when it opened in 2007, and ‘Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen’ has fans eagerly anticipating this movie’s opening,” said Jay Wilkins, 7-Eleven brand manager for cold beverages. “We know Slurpee enthusiasts are going to have fun with the TRANSFORMERS brand this summer at 7-Eleven stores. The movie is, at its heart, a story about a kid and his car. What better vehicle for Slurpee than that!”

In honor of one of the movie’s main robot hero characters, 7-Eleven’s iconic Slurpee beverage will be available in an appropriately colored orange-yellow mango-passion fruit flavor called BUMBLEBEE Blast. The new, fruity flavor was named after the popular BUMBLEBEE AUTOBOT character, the mechanical sidekick and protector of Sam Witwicky (played by Shia LaBeouf). The flavor was among the top vote-getters in nationwide taste tests 7-Eleven held last summer.

“7-Eleven continues to be an incredible place for us to reach movie audiences in creative ways to interact with elements from our movie even prior to its release in theaters,” commented LeeAnne Stables, executive vice president of worldwide marketing partnerships for Paramount Pictures. “This program helps us build on the fun and excitement that the new film will deliver to millions of TRANSFORMERS fans.”

Lenticular Slurpee cups feature four of the TRANSFORMERS characters from the film – two AUTOBOTS, BUMBLEBEE and OPTIMUS PRIME, along with two of the DECEPTICONS, MEGATRON and RAVAGE.

Straws with removable TRANSFORMERS characters – BUMBLEBEE, OPTIMUS PRIME, MEGATRON and THE FALLEN – “climbing” up the side are merchandised alongside the Slurpee machine with a suggested retail price of $1.99.

In addition to the four plastic 3D cups, 7-Eleven has created a blue refillable Slurpee mug, shaped like the head of OPTIMUS PRIME, and a 12-ounce plastic cup with exciting movie background art and removable TRANSFORMERS decals, which can adhere to the cup to recreate multiple film scenes.

Two paper Slurpee cups will also feature movie graphics along with Slurpee Nation reward codes which can be used to enter an online instant-win sweepstakes at http://www.slurpee.com. For this month only, UPC codes on limited-edition “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” Mars Snackfood US, M&M’S Brand Chocolate Candies and SNICKERS Nougabot Bars packaging can be redeemed for rewards points. Each TRANSFORMERS-themed paper cup and Mars Snackfood US UPC code earns two rewards points, enough for one entry into the sweepstakes.

HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill., June 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Kmart(R) announced today its upcoming multi-channel entertainment marketing promotion supporting the June 24 release of "TRANSFORMERS: Revenge of the Fallen" from DreamWorks Pictures and Paramount Pictures, in association with Hasbro, Inc. The promotion launches June 7 and runs through July 4, 2009.

The program kicks-off with Kmart's most robust Father's Day promotion to date; themed to the film. Beginning June 7th through Father's Day on June 21st, Kmart will encourage consumers to "TRANSFORM YOUR DAD" with a variety of merchandise and will offer 2 free movie tickets to see "TRANSFORMERS: Revenge of the Fallen" with a $50 menswear purchase, exclusions apply.

Kmart is supporting the promotion with a national television spot (in both English and Spanish) highlighting men's apparel, the movie ticket offer and the film. The micro-site (http://www.kmart.com/transformers) is where consumers can redeem codes for movie tickets, download "TRANSFORMERS: Revenge of the Fallen"-themed content, watch movie trailers and purchase TRANSFORMERS merchandise.

For the second half of the promotion, June 22 - July 4, Kmart teamed-up with Hasbro to create a dedicated Transformers destination boutique. "Headquarters for TRANSFORMERS will be located in the front of each Kmart retail location and will house everything TRANSFORMERS: toys, video games, men's and boy's apparel, bedding, and much more.

Kmart also created synergies with fellow "TRANSFORMERS: Revenge of the Fallen" movie partners: Burger King Corp. and Mars Snackfood. Participating BURGER KING (R) restaurants will distribute TRANSFORMERS toy and footwear coupons, redeemable at Kmart stores through its BK(R) Kids Meal. Kmart will also be featured in its kids-directed "BK(R) Adventures" newsletter and email newsletter. Mars Snackfood will bring the cross-partnership with Kmart to life by creating "TRANSFORMERS: Revenge of the Fallen"-themed window displays and hosting in-store events at both Penn Station and Astor Place, New York City store locations.

Additional support includes: circular advertisements, email blasts, signage, in-store radio and TRANSFORMERS-themed gift cards. And for the first time ever, Kmart created a 24-page movie-themed comic book which will be distributed in select theaters during the promotional period. The comic book is the movie adaptation of "TRANSFORMERS: Revenge of the Fallen" and includes several Kmart ads highlighting the movie ticket offer and TRANSFORMERS licensed merchandise. Lots of moving parts going on in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. HASBRO Inc. has just announced its Quarterly Cash Dividends to be paid to share holders this quarter. $0.20 USD for every share held by stock holders as of August 3rd, 2009. The dividends are scheduled for release on August, 17th 2009.

Also happening at the toy company, the joint venture with Discovery Communications has just been closed in which Hasbro purchased a 50 percent interest in a joint venture which holds the Discovery Kids Network in the United States. Hasbro and Discovery plan for the joint venture to create a rebranded television network dedicated to high-quality children’s and family entertainment.

The rebranded network is scheduled to premiere in late 2010. The network will feature content from Hasbro’s rich portfolio of entertainment and educational properties, and content from Discovery’s extensive library of award-winning children’s educational programming, as well as programming from third-party producers.

(Nasdaq: ATVI) has assembled an all-star cast for the upcoming Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen video game, including the film's leads Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox, who will reprise their starring roles in the game, and fan favorites Peter Cullen and Frank Welker, the voices of OPTIMUS PRIME and MEGATRON from the original animated series. In the new game, developed under license from Hasbro, players are thrust into an adrenaline-pumping battle to defend Earth from a DECEPTICON attack that threatens mankind.



"Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen features an extensive line-up of film actors, along with the voice talent that fans will recognize from the classic animated series," said Rob Kostich, head of marketing for licensed properties, Activision Publishing, Inc. In addition to Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox, Peter Cullen (Optimus Prime), Mark Ryan (Bumblebee), Jess Harnell (Ironhide), Charles Adler (Starscream) and Robert Foxworth (Ratchet) reprised their film roles for the game. Voice-over veterans John Di Maggio (Sideways) and James Arnold Taylor (The Fallen) also join the roster.



The Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen video game is based on the upcoming live-action feature film from DreamWorks Pictures and Paramount Pictures in association with Hasbro, which opens nationwide on June 24, 2009.* The game lets players take on the role of their favorite AUTOBOTS or DECEPTICONS, picking from the largest, most diverse range of playable Transformers - each with their own distinct abilities and weaponry. Set in unique environments across the globe such as Cairo and Shanghai, the game allows players to instantly switch between vehicle and robot modes as they drive, fly, fight and blast their way through intense, pressure-packed levels.
