TRANSFORMERS Fans Gather in Kentucky to Celebrate Their Love of 'MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE' Toys
PAWTUCKET, R.I.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 27, 2006--Thousands of TRANSFORMERS fans arriving this weekend in Lexington, Kentucky for the official convention of the TRANSFORMERS Collectors Club can meet the "voice" of OPTIMUS PRIME, trade action figures at more than 200 tables of TRANSFORMERS collectibles, and many will be welcomed by a 40-member college marching band playing the famed TRANSFORMERS theme song. And to top it off, they may also enter to win the opportunity to 'become' a TRANSFORMERS action figure!
Each year, TRANSFORMERS fans converge from all across the nation at a convention that celebrates the globally popular franchise that is 'MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE.' This year's event -- held at the Lexington Convention Center from Sept. 28 to Oct. 1 -- will be more exciting than ever as fans anticipate the launch of next summer's live-action TRANSFORMERS movie from DreamWorks and Paramount.
The University of Kentucky marching band will help kick off the convention by playing the iconic TRANSFORMERS theme song when the doors open at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 29 for a special preview for registered convention-goers. Pre-registered guests will also be invited to a special midnight screening on Friday night of the soon-to-be-released 20th anniversary edition DVD of the TRANSFORMERS animated movie. BotCon will then open to the public on Saturday and Sunday, with many activities that will appeal to the entire family, including drawing classes with TRANSFORMERS designers and panel discussions with Hasbro toy designers.
Peter Cullen, the voice of OPTIMUS PRIME, who is also in next year's anticipated blockbuster feature film, will be present on Saturday to sign autographs, meet fans and talk about his experiences as the leader of the AUTOBOTS. Additionally, BotCon will also provide an opportunity for fans to meet the actors behind the character voices of the animated series. Slated to attend are the actors who voiced TIGATRON, RHINOX, RATTRAP, WASPINATOR and AIR RAZOR from the BEAST WARS animated series, which is commemorating its 10th anniversary this year.
"Whether you are a life-long fan who grew up with the TRANSFORMERS animated series or are just discovering the world of 'ROBOTS IN DISGUISE', there's something at BotCon for you," said Brian Savage, Director of the TRANSFORMERS Collector Club. Publishers of The Transformers Comic Books To Offer Show Exclusive
San Diego, CA (September 25, 2006)—IDW Publishing Editor-In-Chief Chris Ryall and Editor Dan Taylor are headed to Kentucky, where they will be guests at BotCon 2006, the official Transformers convention sponsored by the Hasbro’s Transformers Collectors Club and Hasbro. New York, New York, September 19, 2006 — The home entertainment group of SONY BMG Music Entertainment today announced that the first-ever advance dvd screening of TRANFORMERS: The Movie 20th Anniversary Special Edition DVD will take place at BotCon 2006 on Friday, September 29th. The DVD is being released November 7th.
It will be the first chance for fans to see this newly restored legendary animated film. A special midnight screening of the brilliantly remastered and color-corrected movie - in widescreen format - will be presented on the big screen at the historic Kentucky Theatre in Lexington, Kentucky! BotCon package holders will receive special passes for this one-time event. Passes and full details will be available at the on-site BotCon registration.

For the 20th Anniversary Edition, Sony BMG Home Entertainment completely remastered and color-corrected the film and will present Optimus Prime, Megatron and the rest of the star-studded Autobots and Decepticons in true splendor through three distinct versions: 16x9 Widescreen presentation, the Autobot Matrix of Knowledge presentation featuring trivia and fun facts about the movie itself; and a full-screen edition.
To further commemorate the 20th anniversary of the film, SONY BMG is providing fans with some extra-celebratory content that lets them track back to the true origins of the TRANSFORMERS, including original commercials for the toy line and movie.
Sony BMG Home Entertainment is expanding the DVD’s collectibility to the packaging itself. The company has commissioned fan-favorite artist Don Figueroa to create the imagery for a special “transforming” cover.
TRANSFORMERS: The Movie features the voice of Orson Welles in his final role, as well as stars Eric Idle, Judd Nelson, Leonard Nimoy, Casey Kasem, Robert Stack, John Moschitta, Peter Cullen, and Frank Welker. The DVD also features a winning soundtrack featuring the iconic theme "The TRANSFORMERS" performed by Lion, and the popular "The Touch," performed by Stan Bush. The movie, set in 2005, chronicles the efforts of the heroic Autobots to defend their home of Cybertron from the evil Decepticons and Unicron, a huge robotic creature that devours planets.

Hello Club Member!
We hope you are all getting excited about BotCon! I know we are!
Here are some updates:
Board Wars Faction Feud-
We only have space for a couple more websites to participate in this
event and we need to know if you are planning to have a team by Thursday
of this week. Please email lisa@mastercollector.com your board name,
along with the leaders name, team members name (limit of 5 people) and
their screen names.
Video Room Sponsors-
We have one more spot for a website to sponsor the video room. You
will need to have a representative in the video room during your time and
you have games and contests there as well, if you like! There is no
cost to you, just bring the DVDs and VHS tapes you want to show.
Contest entries-
Regular contest entry setup is Friday morning from 8:30-Noon. Please
plan to have your entry in place by then. Late set up is 10am-11am on
Saturday morning. Trophies and show dollar prizes will be given out at
the Awards Party on Saturday night.
If you are entering one of the contests, please email
lisa@mastercollector.com and let her know which one(s) to reserve your
space. We don't want to run out and this helps us plan for your
arrival.
Registration cut off dates-
If you are registering with a check you must have your registration
form to us by this Friday. If you are using a credit card or money order,
you must have it to us by September 15. After that date you will need
to come to late registration pick-up on Friday morning at 8:30 am and
we cannot guarantee availability at that time. Please remember that the
souvenir items go on sale Thursday night and you must be a registered
guest to purchase that evening or Friday.
MSTF-
We will be hosting the MSTF Theatre on Thursday night after
registration closes.

We will post the schedule up in the next 2 weeks.
BotCon Comic-
This year the BotCon comic will be distributed through Diamond this
year with an alternate cover and content. Watch for it in the next

Transformers.com is pleased to release the product images of the first wave of Classic MINI-CONS (Assortment 82416), which are part of the Classics program that pays tribute to the rich history of the TRANSFORMERS saga. These 3-packs feature the DINOBOTS, the NIGHT RESCUE TEAM, and the Demolition Team. These 3-packs are expected at retailers throughout the U.S. in late November and have a suggested retail price of $6.99.
The DINOBOTS fight where others fear to go. Adventurers through and through, KNOCKDOWN, TERRORSAUR and SWOOP are more at home in the thickest, most poisonous jungles of the galaxy than they are in the comfortable machine cities of CYBERTRON. Second Image Of “Transforming” Cover By Legendary Artist Don Figueroa Revealed For The First Time
New York, New York, August 15, 2006 — Since SONY BMG Music Entertainment announced the November 7th release of TRANSFORMERS: The Movie 20th Anniversary Special Edition DVD¸ fans have been buzzing with anticipation about the details of the two-disc set.
At Comic-Con 2006, fans were told that the DVD’s collectibility would extend to the packaging itself with a “transforming” image. SONY BMG commissioned fan-favorite TRANSFORMERS artist Don Figueroa to create the imagery for the special cover, and displayed for the first time the art featuring Optimus Prime appropriately situated in a position of prominence. Joining the Autobot leader are Megatron, Bumblebee, Starscream, Blaster and more of the most popular TRANSFORMERS characters.
Today, SONY BMG is revealing the second Don Figueroa image that will comprise the “transforming” artwork. In this image, Hot Rod – as he transforms into Rodimus Prime – is grasping the Matrix of Leadership as it lights the Autobots’ darkest hour. Above, Unicron begins to destruct, while Galvatron, Arcee and Springer look on.
