From the photos, I took a picture of both sides of the cassettes and with at least one cassette in his chest.
He was listed at $34.99.
Enjoy,

Now, among the 360000 NFTs, there are around 9,596 which come with a token you can use to redeem an exclusive Funko Pop toy. The exclusives are below. So, just to be clear, buying a set of these NFTs means you only get a chance at getting a physical Funko Pop toy, over 90% of purchases will result in just NFTs. This is like those sports cars packs where you have a chance at there being a special rare card (like on that is autographed or has a piece of a game worn jersey) inside. But at least with the card example, you still get cards regardless. Here, you have less than a 10% chance at owning something physical.
And yes, I wrote the same thing twice in different ways, I just want it to be clear.

This part confuses me. When I add up the number of each physical figure they only come to 9,596.
Grail Optimus Prime - 999 .28% chance
Legendary Devastator - 1,550 1.72% chance
Legendary Hot Rod - 1,550 1.72% chance
Legendary Rumble - 1,550 1.72% chance
Legendary Sideswipe - 1,550 1.72% chance
Royalty Freddy Funko as Bumblebee - 2,397
So where are they getting 30K from?

NFT's are a predatory scam, and forcing people to buy NFT's for a CHANCE at getting an actual item is a predatory scam on steroids. This crap can DIAF.

It's my math error. I added up the percentages and then did cross multiplication with the total of single NFTs when instead I should have done it with the number of sets.

It's not their fault. They're just trying to capitalise on the latest "big thing".
Unfortunately, unlike fidget spinners, this won't be going away any time soon and we can expect more of this crap.

Seeing this promotion with all of the crazy hoops you have to jump through and the idea of these Funko Pops being super insanely expensive on the aftermarket due to this unfortunate promotion makes me just want to sell all of my Funko Pop Transformers.
Oddly, I feel a bit like a hypocrite saying that though since this reminds me of the BotCon 2007 ordeal. Most of the figures that created the uproar from that Botcon's exclusives eventually became available at retail or other attainable venues so maybe time will tell with these Funkos like Devastator, Sideswipe and Hot Rod.

Yes, I think we will get some variation on these at retail. I wouldn't throw away the funkos just yet.

This and Botcon 07 are apples and oranges. Imagine if you paid Fun Pub for a lottery ticket that had a slim chance of being a winner, and only winners got one random toy out of the boxed set. That's more or less what you get here.Seibertron wrote:Oddly, I feel a bit like a hypocrite saying that though since this reminds me of the BotCon 2007 ordeal. Same with NFTs; they're an obvious pyramid scheme and their buyers reek of desperation. Add the environmental damage these things do and the art theft rampant within their markets and the whole thing is disgusting.
So this is just artificial value compounded on artificial value, and it's so, so gross.

This is a terrifying possibility. I thought the days of extremely-hard-to-get figures were behind us, not about to get worse. Hopefully the universal negative reaction to this will give a hint to Hasbro

I miss those gold-plated Lucky Draw figures of the past, at least those made a lot more sense to win in a lottery than having to go through NFT loops for the same thing.

Depends on whether or not that exclusive NFT Megazord was a success.

Frankly, I don't agree with this notion. I think Hasbro has plenty of other avenues of revenue to explore, especially considering how there's been controversy surrounding NFTs for a while now. Personally, since the concept of the NFT puts a bad taste in my mouth, this has me thinking more skeptically about this company's priorities.
On the other hand, I'm not at all interested in collecting Funko figures, so this was never meant for me in the first place.

I have managed to get some good ROI (on some of them) through Ebay. But most of the time, you'll barely break even when selling (if you're lucky). Only a rare few wheelers and dealers manage to make flipping them a profitable venture.
Posted by MaximalNui on March 8th, 2022 @ 6:05pm CST
And Transformers Slag Podcast is right, some of the characters and scales they chose make no sense. Why is Devastator, a combiner known for its massive size, a regular Funko instead of Jumbo-sized? And who wants a Freddy Funko dressed as Bumblebee over actual Bumblebee or Goldbug?

Hopefully not, given the general reaction to the announcement. Then again, vocal minority and all that.

The only way for this to stop is for people to say NO and close their wallets. But we all know that there will be enough Funko fans that are also gamblers to make this profitable.
One more thing is that they will never be stuck with an "overstock" of NFT. So they can SCAM people out of their money with zero risks.
Truly a shame that this NFT scam... wasn't invented by me.

We can look at what they're offering and guess what retail versions will look like. A regular Matrix Prime, Devastator with red visor, cartoon Hot Rod, cartoon Rumble and Frenzy (red visor Rumble), and Sideswipe with jetpack.

It wouldn't be so bad if they were just digital trading cards, but they're saved as NFTs to blockchains which are constantly written to by PCs running complex calculations which consume a lot of energy hence the environmental complaints.
Despite the complaints and negative feedback, thanks to the likes of Meta / Facebook, companies like Hasbro and Funko are betting on NFTs becoming "normal" once people get over the growing pains.

But to what end? What is the purpose of these becoming accepted in normal society?
I thought the goal of normalizing NFTs was merely to in turn normalize transactions involving Crypto currency. But the link ti Crypto currency isn't even made here.

Whoever at Hasbro has the NFT infatuation deserves to be canned, and Funko deserves to burn if they don't stop associating with NFT crap.
Facebook is in some serious hot water over their business practices, hopefully it'll burn them enough to make said practices less attractive for the MBA smegheads at other companies to mimic.

I'm hardly an expert, but from my understanding is that crypto (at least most of them) also use block chains and in some cases the same ones that are used by NFTs. It's also common from NFTs to be only purchasable through crypto.
As far as end goal goes, that's where Meta comes in. Meta is currently building their own metaverse, a virtual space that is supposed to be like a real world version of Oasis from Ready Player One. The idea is that you'll eventually be able to access NFTs inside Meta's metaverse. Go into your NFT house, hang your NFT art on walls and flip through your deck of Funko NFT cards. There are a lot of metaverses out there, but Meta didn't change its name to that for nothing (I mean aside from legal troubles), not to mention buying VR company Oculus, building new AI super computers and interest in quantum computing. They're betting on their metaverse to become the biggest one that all of the companies will want to be a part of. If NFTs do eventually become normal and more common then expect them to be even more obnoxious as companies try to figure out what people are going to want in their virtual space (NFT carpets, NFT socks, NFT pets). Right now its at an infant stage, we'll see if it takes off like color TV or crashes like 3D movies. I doubt we'll know until Meta can show a functional proof of concept and how all of this works together. Meta has a net worth of nearly $600B, they aren't going anywhere anytime soon and have the money to pump into whatever project or agenda they feel like pushing to completion, fail or succeed.

I'm just looking forward on some server crash that will take all that virtual nothingness into the grave, making people who invested in physical goods like gold and titanium laugh.
