Bronzewolf wrote:Seibertronians, today we have some additional images of not only one of the most anticipated Combiners of the year, but one of the most anticipated figures of the year, Liokaiser!
Is he really that anticipated? Seems like the people who actually like him (I'm one of them) are in the minority. Or maybe it's the complainers that are in the vocal minority? Seems like more people like the idea of the set (without Dezarus) than actually like it.

1.) He's the first modern reinterpretation of the most awesome G1 Combiner ever
2.) The original Liokaiser is hard to find
3.) One if his components, Killbison, suffers from Gold Plastic Syndrome
So yes, he is anticipated.

OK, but on the other hand...
1.) It's hardly an ideal interpretation lacking two key members (including the team leader!) and replaced by someone that wasn't part of the original team
2.) It's still a very obscure character for any casual fan, unlike the bulk of the CW teams making it a difficult sell.
3.) Hasbro CW figures aren't exactly substitutes for Japanese G1 figures.
Compared to the likes of the Technobots, Combaticons, and Sky Reign, to say nothing of the UW stuff coming out of Japan or the Titans Return, Legends, and Masterpiece stuff he seems a little low on the 2016 "OMG I NEED THAT!" list. Especially when so many people seem to be hoping for a sale before they buy it.

I'm excited and I hate victory. I can't stand anime and I can't get passed the 3rd episode but I'm looking forward to another Decepticon Combiner because they are greatly outnumbered in the official combiner department

I'm in a similar boat. I don't hate victory, I'm just indifferent to it, but wanted this set just for another decepticon combiner. The set is awesome though. The paint apps are excellent, the colors are really nice, and the headsculpts are amazing.

Deszaras was a member of the Breastforce. He just didn't combine with the others. Much like how Star Saber was a Brainmaster but also didn't combine with the other Brainmasters.Emerje wrote:1.) That's Deszaras.Powermaster Prime wrote:Leozack without a robot mode seems disturbing at the very least.

I'm not an anime fan, and hated Victory after a few episodes. But it does get better. Not great by any stretch, but it does get better.

The colors are gorgeous and I could care less the torso isn't Leozack and other guy. I'm not even looking at Dezarus being Deathsarus, to me he's Dezarus. He's a new character that I can give him his own backstory to. It's called an imagination. Had to to use it back in the 80s when all the toys were bricks so I can use it for this guy.

JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:Who's up for another possible round of Computron vs. Computicon, titled "Liokaiser vs. Liocaesar"?
Howdo you foresee that Liocaesar looking? A new revamped combier system or just silverbolt as the voyager body redeco's into Leozack?

Since when does a different accessory count as a remold? Is Platinum predaking called a remold because he comes with a new sword? Come on, lets not get finicky here. Its the same mold with a new head and a different accessory.

While Brawl is my least favorite mold from CW, having 2 actually works pretty well here since you can make Liokaiser a little taller by leaving the back of the tanks in their normal vehicle positions instead of folding them to the underside of the tank for leg mode like on Bruticus. And those remolded heads are fantastic.
Another thing to note, I believe this is the first Hasbro combiner with mismatched HFG's. Black for the hands and silver for the feet.
