This makes it the 4th Optimus primal toy and Bumblebee toy revealed in the mainline so far, though we know they will each get more toys.
These simpler toys, like Primal, sold well in the past as they offer larger toys with quick conversions for kids, we'll see if that trend continues with the introduction of Beast Wars characters for a new generation.
Also, thanks to Twitter user Azalben, we have an image showcasing the packaging for this toyline.

This photo showcases the folowing toys:
Beast Battle Masters Cheetor
Beast Battle Masters Rhinox
Beast Battle Masters Skullcruncher
Battle Changers Optimus Prime
Battle Changers Bumblebee
Battle Changers Rhinox
2-in-1 Optimus Prime Blaster
Beast Combiners 2-Pack Arcee & Silverfang
Beast Combiners 2-Pack Optimus Primal & Skullcruncher
Beast Combiners 2-Pack Bumblebee & Snarlsaber
Beast Combiners 2-Pack Optimus Primal & Skullcruncher
Beast Weaponizers 2-Pack Optimus Prime & Chainclaw
Beast Weaponizers 2-Pack Optimus Primal & Arrowstripe
2-in-1 Bumblebee Mask

I hate these videos. Either make your content horizontal or vertical, Hasbro. Don't make it horizontal and then letterbox it into a vertical resolution. Every device can already fill in the blank space if a video doesn't fit the screen, so why are they trying to force the issue?
anyway the toys look nice I guess. I'll be eagerly waiting for reviews of these masks to see what people say about them.

Somehow, I doubt it. Most of that will likely be in a discount bin or an Ollie's at less than half it's original price.

For the record, if they sell, obviously people and kids are enjoying them. So let them.

Also not all of us have access to an Ollie's or a Ross. I have a couple T.J.Maxx stores I can go to, but they were a total bust when it came to Transformers last year.

This is a really good call-out, because I read an investor note with a "sell" recommendation, and they specifically said they were negative because fansite crybabies don't like the looks of Hasbro's kids' media tie-in products. You should have a CNBC show, I can recommend a production contact if you're interested.

And if it's TFs that older fans actually want, you usually have to be at Ollie's the day they put it on the shelf. Don't be fooled by the army of Zack Storm figures who've staked out their pegs for half a decade now.
Also, much as I like Ollie's, they're largely just in the eastern third of the contiguous U.S., just barely creeping west into Texas. They've served me well in Michigan, but IDK if my relatives in Illinois have even heard of them.
I wish T.J.Maxx, Marshall's, and Tuesday Morning were still reliable for overstock TFs, but those days seem to be years gone by now. I saw some of those Dinobot dual-combiners in TJM just before Christmas, but the last time I actually bought TFs there was pre-pandemic (and also Cyberverse, but from Year 1).
Point is, don't let the hindsight bias of that one toy you forked over $30 for and then saw for $10 a few months later convince you to ignore an entire line at MSRP when it hits the shelves. All the figures you end up paying double for on Ebay will more than offset 1 or 2 flukes that show up en masse next year in an unexpected outlet.

Cry-babies? Hahahaha get a life... look, I've been a collector for about 40 years now, and have close to 4,500 Transformers... if you can say the same, or even close to, I might listen to your opinion about these, but I get the feeling you can't. If you think these ROTB toys are good, you might want to look into go-bots instead, because Transformers are more than you deserve.AcademyofDrX wrote:transformers_va wrote:These look... awful. No amount of owned transformers or years collecting gives you any business telling anyone else what they do and don't deserve. If all you're gonna do in this discussion is b!tch and moan might as well stick to the toyline discussions that you actually like

What the hell is wrong with Gobots? They are way better than some of the stuff Hasbro was putting out at the time, like Throttlebots. And I have around the same amount of TFs as you (though I am including my Gobots). If you want to keep up, you'll have to buy these ROTB toys

Personal observation. The majority of TF's that ever show up here are from the kid's lines as opposed to the collector's lines, and they never move until the bulk of them disappear at once. I admit I've never been there when they go, so I am making the bold assumption that roving bands of 6 year olds flush with grandma money aren't forming raiding parties in Walmart's toy isle.

Just so we have all the facts, these videos are not from Hasbro directly. These are vertical uploads of transformation videos uploaded by the Cybertron 21 facebook page. It makes them easier to share. Their original format, not on youtube, would not have bene verticle.

Stores will flush out toys to get rid of them for room, for sure. But just because you constantly saw kids toys, it doesn't mean it was always the same and none ever sold. With Cyberverse, the same toys were rereleased 5 times in slightly different packaging, so that big wall of kids' toys was always being refreshed throughout the tenure of the toyline. Only the later waves made it to ollies and such, while a majority sold at the primary market. Not just that, but the bulk of sales is only at one month in the year, so odds are sales appear stagnant when it' just the standard cycle.

Hey genius, you can have opposing views in a conversation without being a d!ck about it. Agree to disagree or whatever, But telling people they don't deserve to collect because they disagree with you is pretty stupid. And you wanna talk about silencing others.

There's nothing "wrong" with GoBots. I actually have many of mine from childhood, and still enjoy them. The difference is with quality of materials and intricacy of transformation. Hey genius, when you have one person insinuating that you're a crybaby, and another telling you that you're bitching and moaning, it puts a person on the defensive (a.k.a. being a d!ck")... adjust how you approach people, and you might get a different result. With that being said, do you have anything constructive to add to the conversation, or do you only jump in to try and shut others down?Razorbeast88 wrote:Hey genius, you can have opposing views in a conversation without being a d!ck about it. Gatekeeping by saying your opinion means more based on the amount of time you've been collecting or the number of bots you own is offputting and just plain rude.
Remember just because you hate something with this kind of vitriol does not mean others cannot enjoy it. there are many tastes, none of them are wrong.
But you should not be an asshole about it either. And that is what I am seeing, and what I am formally stopping now. Next comment along the lines will not be so nice.

Everyone needs to calm the hell down. Several of us don't like what we see, won't be buying, and predict poor sales. Others think they're looking at the best thing since Beanie Babies and can't wait to burn the rent money on all they can get their hands on. I, as a member of the former group, hope all the members of the latter group experience all the joy your hearts can handle on those figures. Maybe if enough of these things sell, the brand won't die off like it did before.

You have the right to go to a seafood forum and tell that "seafood taste awful and if you eat shellfish, you'll go to Hell."
But you have to expect and accept that people will respond to you in a very negative way.

I've been a Transformers fan since I was watching homemade VHSs rented from Popingo Video and TFTM from the back of the grocery store. I have a room mainly filled with Transformers on display or in storage, plus overflow into the next room, after having sold a couple thousand dollars worth of my collection to make room.
You weren't acting "defensive"; you were acting badly and you're calling it "being defensive" in order to deflect the responsibility for your own actions onto others.
With that being said, a crocodile that turns into a 5mm compatible shotgun is worth $6 in my book. I think I spent more than that on a 3D printed Corgi/Missile Launcher, and I still haven't gotten him painted. (What color???)

Impressive collection!I don't know if I can convince myself to buy these though... maybe on deep discount?
Look, in your case, if it's just about keeping up with product, then yeah deep discount is the way to go. I'm sure some will be heavily discounted next year, or in a bit more than that when what's left ends up at a liquidator. For some reason, I don't remember that happening with The Last Knight or the Bumblebee film, but my memory is hazy. Aside from that cute croc and Rhinox, these arent must haves for me either but my son likes them so I will end up with quite a few.
Speaking of my collection, it's mostly in tubs, so I never really see how large it is. But I went to a collector store today, the kind which buys a bunch of loose and MISB items from collectors who want to sell their whole collection at once and there was practically nothing they had that I didn't have (I was missing some accessories though). And this store was packed with product. That's when I realized how my house would look if I actually displayed all my figures.
Back to Gobots, yes when comparing all of gobots to all of transformers it's a no contest since you have the likes of Jetfire, the Dinobots, Whirl, Scorponok, Fort Max, Sky Lynx, Omega Supreme ect. But some Gobots fare way better than a bulk of G1, and they have this extra novelty factor. I don't know if I'm the only one but I preffer Pathfinder to Cosmos. And there is something really wholesome about Loco. It's just such a smart and simple design. I do preffer them to all the low budget G1 tf toys (like Throttlebots, minispys, ect), and even to the G1.5 toys we got like the Turbomasters.

They both look pretty good, but I'll pass on Optimus until we know what the Target exclusive SS version is. It's kinda funny that somehow that panel on the front of Rhinox's leg isn't clipped in despite being CG. Looks like the horns can be removed and used as a weapon, not sure if it's a necessary step since the rhino head is just stuck on the back of the bot like any other (non-TM) Rhinox figure. Bonus weapon, maybe? His transformation is deceptively simple despite all the leg panels. The bot legs form the bulk of the rhino body, the sides of the rhino are his shins. The bot head is exposed under the rhino's neck. The rear legs are just sorta sitting on the back of the bot legs, the perspective of the photo hides them. It's probably a fun figure to mess around with if you like the aesthetic.

That's my problem with most of these figures. They are voyager-sized figures, but the transformation seems to form no puzzle whatsoever. I always think it is a shame when they waste an opportunity beast-formers grant to make transformation into an interesting puzzle. The RotB Cheetor voyager is such a shame and just defaults to "stand up and walk" transformation.

I have to agree. Rhinox looks pretty sharp, but there's nothing that makes that Prime stand out amongst the 8,793,421 other Primes Hasbro has pumped out.
