And this should surprise all of you who have been paying attention to all that Furman has said concerning the future of the IDW comics...
Don't know what's going on?
Maybe this will help:
we’ll just say for now that a certain Jhiaxus has been ‘dabbling’ and Arcee is not happy about it one little bit. In fact, she’s pretty darn homicidal!

This will be interesting to read, Bet this Arcee is nothing like her G1 counterpart, and that can only be a good thing.
Anyone else noticing a trend to have crazy post movie cast... Kup, Arcee, and even Springer to a point...

Hmmm....fun. I wouldn't say it was unexpected, but it is a good thing, at least, I think it's a good thing.

Now I keep looking at that picture and wondering if my Fort Max statement was true. The head really reminds me of his (on the left), but the chest and shoulders do not, which is fine, because I would imagine this is a pre-headmasters style.

tigertracks 24 wrote:Also, since she is involved with Jhiaxus, it might be that she was on the original ship crew. Or somehow she has found him as part of the lost crew.
If that's true, then maybe that explains why there are feminine robots in Megatron: Origin and none in any of Furman's "present day" work to date. They probably existed once but have been wiped out (or died out) since the age of the Senate.

It's about damn time she lived up to that title.

That's for the next month!
Hm ... I personally like Wheelie. Everyone's animosity towards Wheelie and Daniel makes me think that I ought to draw up a few ideas for a Mosaic page or two. Hmm ...

Wish I got the Kup issue for free......I was not too entertained with it......

Yeap, looks like them, at least as they appeared in the Prime Spotlight.

It makes sense since they were created by Jhiaxus, if he's in something, they probably would be too. IS that what is doing that is pissing her off?
I like Counterpunch's ideas on the Valkyrie type thing. However, I don't want them to hate dudes...I would like that Springer/Arcee relationship to be able to be done, somehow, but yes, I know we are not even sure that they exist in the same time frame here.

Maybe she's pissed of at Jhiaxus because he declared the femmes obsolete and tried to destroy them?

Plus I like Milnes pencils.

Decepticlone Soundwave wrote:Wow, she really does look homicidal. I hope she at least damages Jhiaxus a good portion. I really didn't see her coming. At this rate, we'll have a nice collection of Spotlights w/characters we'd probably never see coming in 4 million years. Personally, I'd like to see Blitzwing.
Me too for Blitzwing, or if not him then another Con triple changer. Preferably Octane.

It might be possible that she was part of one of Jhiaxus experiments and might of been locked away in stasis only to be awoken. Or she could of been like the Monstructor guys, sealed in a pocket dimension thingy and then let out and goes nuts looking for Jhiaxus. That kind of set up would explain why she is potentially on a killing rampage.
Either way I think her spotlight is going to give us further insight into this whole Nova Prime, First Ark, Dead Universe thing.

I will be very interested to see how Furman writes this book, if it will be all flashback, if it ties into Jhiaxus and Monstructor, or even Stormbringer...
Ah possibilities!

Though this could amount to nothing more being a their not really female, just have similar characteristics that make them appear female. Or it could turn out female transformers actually server a specific function in Cybertronian society, maybe not in the same way as they do in human society, but hey, who knows?
I remember seeing in some of the Megatron Origins comics a female TF poster in a pose that you would see on a strip joint sign. Also there was Elita-One and Orion Pax in the funeral scene. Plus I think I saw a female transformer holding the hand of a kid TF in the background. So who knows what we'll see. All I know that if Simon is writing it it's probably going to be good!

Wodicus wrote:Actually I was reading Simon's blog today about this and in his responses he says that he is going to try and tackle the issue of gender with the IDW transformers. So it might actually be that someone will finally give a reason why a race of alien robots actually has males and females.

It would be cool to have this addressed although many will not want to hear it, either way.

Markerguru: she does, and thats what simon wanted. i won't say why
Sounds very promising to me!!! ;D
I'm totally agreeing with i_amtrunks all the way. *cheers*

Wodicus wrote:Another idea I had is a little stranger. Perhaps Jhiaxus is the one who created female transformers... and used *ahem* pre-existing models for the first female ones. It could be that Arcee is one of these experiments and this does not make 'her' happy about it once all is said and done.
TRANS-gender-eered? WOW! Interesting theory. Oh the humanity of the Springer, Hot Rod, love triangle just took a very odd twist...
Posted by MaP_Prime on October 20th, 2007 @ 12:48am CDT
Or maybe she learns something else, like some deep dark secret of Jhiaxus and gets locked away for a few eons because of it and when she is finally discovered and released goes on a killing rampage.
Damn it... I like hearing about new comics and stuff ahead of time, but I really would wish they didn't do so when there is like 4 or 5 months before hand. I want to read this comic now!

that would be cool if she were in it somehow.

i think Furman might have said no TF deities, or fembots...Wodicus wrote:Care to actually explain such a general statement?
I can't remember which...
or maybe both
If Furman did, i'll let him slide on this one. She might even be a he...

I also thought that the idea of TF gods was pretty cool to, I hated the Quintisons and the fact they made the transformers in the original series seemed to take away something about them for me.

Grimshock wrote:Interesting to see that Furman compromised his beliefs. Now he's gone back on one of the few things I agreed with him on. It just keeps gettin' worse and worse. Glad I stopped buying comics.
I'm not sure if he has overriden this stance in a later interview, but what Furman actually said was "I'm slightly ducking and diving around the issue of "˜female' Transformers until I can find something, a rationale, that works for me (and for the rebooted storyline as a whole)...Every time I try and rationalize gender in giant robots it makes my head hurt."
So he didn't say that he would NEVER address or include fembots.
