We are thrilled to announce that in 2014, Auto Assembly will once again be graced by renowned Transformers Author, Jim Sorenson!
Jim has worked with IDW since 2006 and has been the pen behind many pieces of great Transformers literature such as, The Ark (1 and 2), The AllSpark Almanac (1 and 2), The Art of Transformers Prime and The Transformers 30th Anniversary Collection. He has also leant his talents to several projects outside of the Transformers Universe (debatably!) such as the much lauded GI:Joe Field Manuals.
Jim’s latest offering, Transformers Legacy: The Art of Transformers Packaging (compiled with longtime co-creator, Bill Forster) is scheduled for a May 2014 release. Be sure to pre-order a copy and bring it with you to Auto Assembly to be signed by the man himself! We have attached the link below.
As ever, you can follow Jim’s updates on his blog, Disciples of Boltax:

Jim will be joining us for Auto Assembly 2014, which will take place on 8th – 10th August 2014 at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel. Order your tickets now to join us in celebrating 30 years of the Cybertronians!

Day tickets are under £20 I believe.
I had my fill the last 2 years, i'm going this year to hang out in the bar for a day and catch up with a few close friends, I dont plan to buy a ticket, not worth it to me. But if the guests appeal to you, its 3 and a half months away, plenty of time to save.

Ironically ive travelled down from Manchester the last 2 years and done the same exact thing. Glad somebody will be there representing grumpy northerners

Casey has been working on Transformers comics since making his debut providing variant cover artwork for the first issue of All Hail Megatron and subsequently covers for several other issues in the series. Since then has provided interior and cover artwork for Spotlight Blurr, Spotlight Drift (both for covers and interior artwork), Spotlight Cliffjumper, the Ironhide miniseries, and many more.
Most recently, Casey is providing regular cover work for More Than Meets The Eye and Robots In Disguise, with much of his work being coloured by fellow Auto Assembly 2014 guest Joana Lafuente!

We’re more than a little enthusiastic to announce that we are going to be joined this year by the entire creative team behind Regeneration One! Yes, once again writer Simon Furman, artist Andrew Wildman, inker Stephen Baskerville and colourist John-Paul Bove will all be in attendance along with cover colourist Jason Cardy who will be in our new Artists Alley that we have introduced for Auto Assembly 2014 and not only will they be around throughout the convention to meet fans, sign autographs and sketch for all of you (although we’re not too sure how many of you would be asking Simon Furman for sketches!), all five of them will be taking to the stage for a special Regeneration One themed panel.
As you can imagine with Regeneration One coming to a close, this is going to be a fantastic opportunity to celebrate with us what has been a rollercoaster ride as the team close a monumental comic series.
We’re always on the lookout for new ideas to introduce to the convention here at Auto Assembly, especially this year as we celebrate 30 years of Transformers so starting with Auto Assembly 2014 we are pleased to present the launch of Auto Assembly’s brand new Artists Alley…
As you’d expect, this is a new area we are setting aside at the convention to allow artists to showcase their work, sell original artwork, sketch for attendees and more but for this year we’re doing something rather special as the area is going to be a special All-Star Artists Alley! This year it is going to be playing host to nothing but professional comic artists who will be selling some of their original work, other projects they are involved with and, of course, sketching throughout the convention weekend.

We’ve been keeping this one under wraps for a while, but after a two year gap we’re incredibly excited to announce that once again we’re bringing you all a convention exclusive lithograph for Auto Assembly 2014 as we celebrate 30 years of Transformers and best of all, we’re giving this litho print away absolutely FREE!
This is an absolutely stunning limited edition A2 sized print and features a wide range of characters from the last 30 years of Transformers and has been illustrated by Auto Assembly in-house artist and AA2014 guest Ed Pirrie. The litho is limited to a print run of just 1,250 copies and will not be available from anywhere else apart from Auto Assembly 2014 so if you want to get your hands on this great piece of artwork, then you will have to be at this year’s convention!!

NICK ROCHE
Writer and artist extraordinaire, Nick made his mark with the release of the seminal Last Stand Of The Wreckers and has worked on countless other Transformers titles since then. He also seems to have something of a personality crisis, often thinking that in reality he is Beast Wars Megatron, usually during our script readings, but the less said about that the better…

As well as bringing back its own bar and diner, Swerve's, Auto Assembly will be holding another charity auction during the event, with profits going to Mary's Meals.+
Lastly, but definitely not leastly (which is not a word), special guest events include an IDW Transformers: More Than Meets the Eye creator panel with writer James Roberts, artist Alex Milne and current colourist Joana Lafuente. And artist Livio Ramondelli will be hosting this year's art workshop, too.
So make sure to book your single day or weekend ticket now, and we'll see you in Birmingham on 8-10th August!

Anyway, he won't be going as just a TF collector/fan. This year he and his mates will be playing the show as this year's audible entertainment. For those of you unaware, he has a band called (of all things ) WolfKang and they will be playing AA, doing sets of songs from their recently released album, Every Now And Then as well as some classic tracks from Transformers: The Movie.
They'll have a few copies of their album for sale at the show for any of you who like what you hear.

Sadly the missus has said that we don't have the money for anything this month, so I'll just stick to dreaming, unless my finances change (hoping to get some commissions through)

It’s been a long road getting here, but at long last we can unveil the full schedule for the weekend for Auto Assembly 2014 and we believe that it’s our best programme of events yet for Europe’s Largest Transformers Convention…
We’ve got a packed weekend of events lined up with workshops, several guest Q&A panels on every day, our infamous script reading, a live band, autograph sessions and much more – so much in fact that our team has been struggling for weeks trying to fit everything in! Anyway, you can now view and download the Auto Assembly 2014 Schedule in full as a PDF file to read on your PC, tablet or mobile device (ideal to bring with you to the convention!).

Got rushed into hospital with my hernia so I'm in bed for 3 days...........
Have a great time everyone and don't get to many bargains........

Still pretty pissed off that they didn't release the schedule until two days before the convention started. I get that they don't want to piss people off if attendees drop out but I'm fairly certain that most people are understanding when real life gets in the way. I just think they should have maybe announced the schedule when the last attendee was announced which was what, a month ago? People can make decisions about whether to attend or not then.
Saying that, I'll be there again next year and hopefully for the full weekend once my house is sorted out and I'm properly moved in.
See you all tomorrow!

I couldn't have had a better time than I did this year.... Roll on AA 2015

That's awesome.
I'm still a little pissed that so many of us were clearly there at one point or another and there was no organised meet up. This must be done for next year.

We've got a lot of brand new programme items lined up for the con as well as most of the regulars returning too and we're even looking at the possibility of needing a THIRD Alternative Programme Room because of the amount we have on - we've filled one room already.
Talking of which, for a Seibertron meet if anyone wants to put something together as something formal for our Alternative Programme Room (as opposed to something in the bar!), please let me know as I can arrange to slot something in. We've had forum meets the last few years as well as live podcast recordings so I'm more than happy to give you guys a slot in the schedule.
