Auto Assembly 2009 is set to break all attendance records once again for a European Transformers convention and we are delighted to say that we are going to be joined by fans from not only all over the UK but from all over Europe and from as far afield as America, Singapore and Japan making Auto Assembly 2009 a truly global event.
However, we appreciate that there are many of you who would love to be able to attend the convention but can't attend either because of distance of who are unable to get time off work so once again we are offering a non-attendee package which will allow you to get involved in the convention and get your hands on all of this year's convention goodies and a whole lot more besides...
These non-attendee packages are for anyone living in the UK and for the rest of the world and are fully inclusive of shipping costs. While these are more expensive than passes for the convention, we think they offer exceptional value for money. Why? Well, each non-attendee pack will get you:-
* A Personalised convention pass with your own ticket number
* The FULL Auto Assembly goodie bag containing up to 12 gifts (with more under negotiation)! (the earlier your ticket number, the more gifts will be in your bag. Visit the website to see the full details of what's on offer this year!)
* Entry into all of the Auto Assembly 2009 Pre-registrant prize draws
* The Cybertronian Times Issue 10, signed by ALL our convention guests
* All Hail Megatron Issue 13 convention exclusive variant cover comic
* Auto Assembly 2009 convention exclusive mug
* Auto Assembly 2009 Grimlock keyring
* Full set of Auto Assembly convention exclusive postcards from 2004-2008
* Proxy bidding rights for the Auto Assembly charity auction
* A personalised sketch from a random Auto Assembly 2009 comic artist guest
* The option to use your non-attendee pass at ANY TIME and become a full weekend attendee during the convention by simply turning up at the convention and showing your pass and collecting all of your items on the day for just an additional
And that's not all! The first 20 people to buy the non-attendee package will also receive a copy of Apocalypse Comics' retailer exclusive edition of All Hail Megatron #1 or All Hail Megatron #12! This is quite possibly the best non-attendee package we have EVER put together and is an ideal way for you to get involved with the convention if you can't make it this year and potentially your ONLY chance to get this year's convention exclusive comic!
Once you have paid your (or if you live outside the UK) there is nothing more to pay. The only additional charges are for additional postage charges that may be incurred should any competition prizes be won that we may need to ship, or relevant amounts for any auction items that you may win.
To purchase your non-attendee package, visit the Auto Asembly website NOW! If you are able to join us, full weekend tickets are available and are for adults and for children/students/senior citizens with under 5s being FREE. £500 just to fly to there, and back to my holiday
£60 for a possibly non attendee ticket
God knows how much for my food bill?
Travel Costs back to Southport if I dont go back on holiday?
I'll leave it for this year, very persuading, but I cant do it.

A convention exclusive comic, a magazine signed by 14 guests including two voice actors and 12 comic artists/writers (and potentially more if we add more guests to the line-up) - something that Botcon doesn't arrange for it's non-attendee package that I am aware of - our full goodie bag which we are adding to all the time, numerous other items AND an original piece of artwork from a Transformers comic artist and all of that inclusive of postage - I'd say is pretty good value with nothing more to pay.
I'm not sure where you worked out all of your other costs from for the non-attendee package. Obviously, the attendee package would only cost £45 plus your travel/hotel costs etc. and personal contact with the guests and access to the full event, but even then we think a lot of people would get a great deal there... and it's the same with any convention, be it Auto Assembly, TFCon, BotCon, TFConversions, TicBot, C.O.N.S... I could go on! I've been going to sci-fi conventions all over the UK for 20 years now and they've never been just about the registration fee and I don't think anyone thinks along those lines these days when it comes to costs.

Anyway, the goodie bag is absolutely massive this year. Depending on how early you book (or get the non-attendee package) the more gifts you will get as it's based on your ticket number, but right now there are 12 gifts and counting! So far, these include:-
* Hulk DVD (ticket numbers 1-49) - full commercial release worth £10
* Pack of Cards Inc G1 Stickers (ticket numbers 1-214 although we are trying to source more of these)
* Auto Assembly 2009 Beast Wars Cheetor Postcard, Simon Williams artwork (all ticket holders)
* Auto Assembly 2009 G1 Grimlock Postcard, Andrew Wildman artwork (all ticket holders)
* Auto Assembly 2009 Beast Wars Cheetor Keyring, Simon Williams artwork (all ticket holders)
* Auto Assembly 2009 Lanyard (all ticket holders - will be sent out with passes in advance)
* Top Trumps Transformers card - exact details to be confirmed (all ticket holders)
* Reprolabels Auto Assembly 2009 Sticker Sheet (all ticket holders)
* Beast Machines Cheetor / David Kaye / Atari Poster - one chosen at random from these (ticket numbers 1-478 attendees)
* Bag of Transform-A-Snacks (to be confirmed) (all ticket holders)
* Auto Assembly 2005 Pin Badge (ticket numbers 1-650)
* Auto Assembly 2006 Pin Badge (ticket numbers 1-650)
With more under discussion right now which I am hoping to announce soon!

I'm bringing Nick Roche over to the convention and his flights from Dublin are piss cheap... it's costing ME more to get to the hotel from Lichfield by taxi than it is to FLY Nick over using Ryanair! lol

Thank you for clarifying what the goodie bag was!
Posted by Simes on June 26th, 2009 @ 4:42am CDT
In the past, they've included things like postcards, posters, comics, DVDs, books, stickers, Playstation 2 discs (preview discs from the Atari game), crisps, and even copies of the first Activision game (although this was limited and done on a lucky draw basis).
We just think that it adds a little extra to the convention and gives everyone a little "thankyou" for coming along.

Wouldn't it be nice to go there for the con?
It is actually less expensive for me to go to AA than Botcon was this year (which I also didn't attend).
The problem with AA (for me)is that it is always in August the time school starts up.
I still like hearing what is going on at the other cons though.
