Yes, you read that right folks. Despite performing the worst of the 5 live action films and despite a general "meh" feeling about the whole film, it did not win a single Razzie.
We can thank 50 Shades Darker and The Emoji Movie for sparing The Last Knight, as they nearly won every single category. And while The Last Knight may have deserved one of the rewards, we are grateful that it did not win one. For those who are not aware, the Razzies are rewards given to the worst of the worst every year, even though they are more for fun and not really a major competition like the Golden Globes.
Check out the embedded video below, showing the winners, and you can read the list of winners below!
Worst Picture: The Emoji Movie (Columbia) – Michelle Raimo Kouyate
Worst Director: Tony Leondis – The Emoji Movie
Worst Actor: Tom Cruise – The Mummy as Nick Morton
Worst Actress: Tyler Perry – Boo 2! A Madea Halloween as Mabel “Madea” Simmons
Worst Supporting Actor: Mel Gibson – Daddy’s Home 2 as Kurt Mayron
Worst Supporting Actress: Kim Basinger – Fifty Shades Darker as Elena Lincoln
Worst Screen Combo: Any two obnoxious emojis – The Emoji Movie
Worst Prequel, Remake, Rip-off or Sequel: Fifty Shades Darker (Universal/Focus Features)
Worst Screenplay: The Emoji Movie – Tony Leondis, Eric Siegel and Mike White; based on the trend of emojis

TLK was such a dead-felt movie, yes, but those other movies up there that won all those Razzies are very deserving of winning them for the garbage flicks that they are.

Emjoi movie? Yeah, lets make a movie about little pictures that are already dumbing down society. How can that NOT succeed?

Yes, it's the butler from Downton. There are other cameos, too. The main woman's mother was the nurse robot from "Humans".
Anyway, the other joke concerning Cogman is that he's both a British Headmaster AND a TF Headmaster (both meanings). Anyone else get that Easter egg?

More like that was an artifact left over from an earlier version of the script where Cogman was likely supposed to have transformed into a head and taken control of the decapitated body of Nitro Zeus during the final battle scene with Cybertron at Stonehenge, but since that didn't make it into the final cut, the bit where Sir Edmund Burton calls Cogman a Headmaster makes little sense in the finalized version, as it referred to his being "a very rare breed" of Cybertronian. Nothing was said of him being an educator, but a lot was said of him being a butler, "for 700 years" no less.primalxconvoy wrote:Anyway, the other joke concerning Cogman is that he's both a British Headmaster AND a TF Headmaster (both meanings). Yes, that's what I said. He was meant to be a Headmaster. However, the Easter egg/in-joke was that his demeanor and nationality (thus use of vocabulary) pointed that he was also a British Headmaster-esque character, too.

Not true. Cogman's behavior is synonymous with traditional British Headmasters:

As the article states, its not about having a free TF film, its about having a free recent film.

Actually a few reasons, The Last Knight, younger audience is more familiar with TLK, unlike other movies, the fifth one actually have some story, The First movie gets away with a lot only because of nostalgia and first impression, and Dark of the Moon is like the worst movie ever.I don't hate The Last Knight as much as a lot of other people do, but why choose that when the first movie, Dark of the Moon, and honestly even Age of Extinction would be better choices?

You know there's a problem when the big hyped up fight scene between Bee and Nemesis Prime is as long as the discussion on Mark Wahlberg's sex life.
Honestly, there were no positives for me, I hated the film throgh and through. The amount of money you would have to pay me to watch it again would be ridiculously high.

The only part of TLK I liked was the King Arthur bit at the beginning. The big medieval war with the Guardian Knights coming in as Dragonstorm to help fight off the Saxons. I wanted to see more of THAT movie, not snippits of like 16 other random movies set in later times that were cobbled together to make all of TLK.william-james88 wrote:steals_your_goats wrote:william-james88 wrote:steals_your_goats wrote:So I finally decided to watch this one since I'm seeing bumblebee tomorrow. Sure, the other problem is that there is very little to no reason why Optimus Prime should be renamed after changing sides, technically Galvatron could de considered Nemesis Prime in the Bayverse, since in Bayverse mythos Nemesis = Evil Counterpart, and it's hard to be your own evil counterpart. You know there's a problem when the big hyped up fight scene between Bee and Nemesis Prime is as long as the discussion on Mark Wahlberg's sex life.
After rewatching this movie again, I still don't understand why it's so hated. Sure, it's far from beign great, but at least this time they are trying to create story and snd some kind of enviroment within movieverse. Also each character is relatively expressive, despite it's small role. Comparing to excuse plots and nameless drones from the previous movies, it's huge improvement, of course it's not har to do better than original trilogy.

For my personal opinion I would really like to see this concept revisited in the Knightverse if it ends up becoming a reboot following Bumblebee's success with Skyfire as the main character (I would love to have Skyfire and Jetfire be two different characters completely) even some of the designs here look slightly more like the designs see in Bumblebee (of the Shatter/Dropkick/Blitzwing type) more then the Bayverse for the most part.
I think it would be one of only a few solo type character focused films like Bumblebee that I could see working, once again keep the cast small with just Skyfire and maybe one or two other Autobots as casualties cause WW2 movie and a small group of Decepticons with old and new characters mixed in like say Bludgeon as the main antagonist Decepticon.

D-Maximal_Primal wrote:AS much as I love the knights, a WWII movie would be so badass. Something like that is really needed in our TV/movie fiction
I'll be honest I really loved the knight aspect of TLK (The beginning few minutes of the movie) and I was so hyped from what I saw at that TLK preview thing they had at a few theaters and I know my Mum really like the Knight stuff from the movie as well and now knowing what the movie did I would of split TLK into two movies instead of what happened.
One movie would be more of a "weird" G1 cartoon season 3 vibe movie in space with Optimus who took the Knightship (The AOE ending would not have ended with him rocketing to space) along with the Dinobots with the addition of Slog/Sludge, Snarl and Slash who were imprisoned in another part of the ship since the Dinobots are so big, tracking down the Creators/Quintessons using information/data on the ships computer which makes more sense then Prime trying to head off to space without info.
Only "Autobot" is Prime and his only allies would be the Dinobots, Bounty hunter and ex-Decepticon Thundercracker who is encountered in space and twin Knights Silverbolt and Kingbolt that the group would encounter, Antagonists would be the Creators and their various alien creatures both organic and machine including Sharkticons and brainwashed Knights including their leader Ultra Magnus, a Bounty Hunter crew led by Axor and Skywarp trying to get revenge for Lockdown's death and finally Galvatron who stowed away on the Knightship waiting for a change to kill Prime and would eventually get captured and brainwashed and reformatted into TLK Megatron by the Creators alongside Optimus Prime at the end of the movie who would get brainwashed as a lead up to the final movie.
The other movie would be on Earth and expand the whole Junkyard thing that the first half of the movie had with the cast being Cade Yeager, Bumblebee, Hound, Drift, Crosshairs, Wheelie, Topspin (He would of joined the surviving Autobots post AOE and confirm with a flashback that Roadbuster was the very first Autobot killed by Cemetary Wind.) Trench (Autobots new medic with Ratchet's death and a former Constructicon who is trying to teach Hound peaceful ways with little success at first) and recent addition of Canopy who brings in Sqweeks and Izabella with him after the other Autobots save him from Barricade who is the main villain in the movie because he can't let go of the War and puts together a rag tag group of Decepticons which includes disgraced former General Onslaught (Who would be the same guy as DOTM garbage truck con and be blue instead of green to be closer to G1 version and standout from ROTF Long Haul), Smolder (Red Ratchet body with a new head and flame weapons), surviving Dread Crowbar (TLK Dreadbot) who turns out is literally unkillible as a parody of Decepticon endurance in the films and has an surprising friendly Australian accent/voice in comparison to his monstrous appearance, Nitro Zeus (Who would be silly at one moment before acting very sinister at the next to better show the tracker role), Mohawk, Roadblock (2007 Barricade with a different head, white colorscheme based off early concept art of 2007 Barriacde who turned into a more simple police car) and Chopper the green Blackout from the tiny turbo chargers line.
End of the movie would be the battle at the abandoned town from TLK but as a bigger set piece with the casualties of Crosshairs and Canopy (who dies his death from the TLK movie here) on the Autobots side and the deaths of all cons except Barricade, Onslaught, Crowbar, Smolder and Nitro Zeus as enemies of the final film which would be a better version of the second half of TLK.

Remember the writers room thing? One of the ideas was Operation Skyfire which would of been a movie taking place during War World 2 and presumably by the name Skyfire would of been the main character perhaps and probably a different character from Jetfire from ROTF, while a whole movie didn't pan out it did influence the WW2 flashbacks in The Last Knight.

Also the new movieverse, if rebooted would not be the Knightverse as he would have to direct all installments for that to be the case. My current thinking is that they will try and have their cake and eat it, with keeping the movies in the timeline set up with the other films but allowing the style of the bots to change with no explanation (thinking we fans will take care of any inconsistencies which to be fair, we have already... The face on the carrier plane looks like first-Movie Megatron's head design, but I can't imagine any logical or sensible explanation for why Megatron (or anybody) would want to turn into an aircraft that exposes their entire face.
Could it have been nudged because the concept of a superhero period war film was already being done that year with Wonder Woman? Maybe they wanted to avoid looking like they'd copied the idea.

I'm guessing it's the Nazi's homage to Megatron, who they somehow know about. Or the Decepticon's homage. Either way, I'm sure it would have been about as dumb as Transformium.

How about Megatron-locomotive?
Bumblebee: Skull Island
Not gonna lie, though, if this was a Cybertron overtaken by wilderness instead of a secret Earth island, I'd love a movie or episode around this setting.
