Also: Why are Legion class toys labeled as Deluxe here?

Swerve and Cosmos look adorably awesome! Glad I held out from third party companies and GDO Generations for these guys. But I'm not really into their partners. Do they transform into weapons?

Doubledealer's new head kinda threw me off. Not sure why. But I do like the way it looks, however. So what faction will he be advertised, Autobot or Decepticon? It appears he has the Autobot badge on his tank mode.
Not too keen on Rhinox's rhino mode, but that robot mode is just too gorgeous to pass up!

Not really into the Beast Hunters Legions and Commanders. Bluestreak doesn't look very... Bluestreak-y.
The Beast Hunters Deluxes and Voyagers... all kinds of fail. Seriously, what went through their minds, upscaling the Legends figures for Bumblebee, Smokescreen, and Optimus?

Also: Why are Legion class toys labeled as Deluxe here?
Because Hasbro is screwing us over with the Beast Hunters line. Those ARE Deluxes. They took the Legion Class figures and upsized them to Deluxe. They just gave them new paint jobs and new accessories, that's it. No added articulation like elbows, knees or a balljointed head, nope. Straight up upsizing of the Legion molds.
Same with Commander Class being turned into those new Voyagers of Optimus and Predaking.
I'm hoping this just stays with Beast Hunters and doesn't cross over into Generations. Those new "Deluxes" and "Voyagers" are a joke.
Now, onto the reveals...
Skids: BOUGHT.
Waspinator: BOUGHT.
Cosmos: BOUGHT.
Swerve: Iffy. (Maybe.)
Rhinox: BOUGHT. (But he looks more like a Deluxe, rather than a Voyager. Shows his tooling is somewhat simplified. So, perhaps the Beast Hunters planning will carry over to Generations.)
So far, I'm terribly unimpressed and saddened. I'm already missing Aaron Archer and his team. I realize these toys are aimed at kids, and that's fine, but if you make it too simplistic, they won't like them either. They're one step away from Rescue Bots, well, the Beast Hunter Deluxes, that is. Power Rangers Megazords and their components have more complexity than some of the upcoming stuff, and they're just stylized bricks!
I'm afraid to see what they do to TF4 toys. I really am. If this continues, I might quit Transformers altogether. No, I'm serious. I REFUSE to pay Deluxe pricing for a Legion figure. They look like terrible knock offs! I'd rather own a knock off!
P.S. I forgot to mention... Not only did they upsize the Legions, but they stripped the combining functionality from Windrazor and Twinstrike. Their combiner pegs are missing from their legs/feet. Yeah. WTF, Hasbro? Are you serious? Are you trolling us with this shit?! I'm so angry I'm swearing.

Prime =

Seriously, they literally upscaled Legion figures into Deluxes! WAT?!

Everything else - AMAZING

NovaSentinel wrote:Whoever Hasbro's marketing guy is, FIRE THEM. Seriously. There is no freaking way I am going to be forking out £13-£14 for a figure with 4 POINTS OF ARTICULATION. The only good thing to take away from this is that the Predacons will more than likely be able to combine into a deluxe scaled Abominus.
It was okay back in the Generation One days, where toy technology was beginning to progress. But I agree: if they make the other Predacon Terrorcons, and they all feature the combining gimmick, I'll get those. But as for Smokescreen, Bumblebee, Optimus, and Predaking...

Stated that this came from Hasbro observing people enjoying the custom class at BotCon and enjoying building their own figures.
Showed us a commercial, going to see if they can show it to us in the dealer room.]
Monkey see, monkey do.I love the 'Hasbro observing people' bit. Seriously, I WOULD LOVE to observe Hasbro marketing board meetings. Do these people live in closets, or did the brand testing on a bunch of kitbashers take a while to perfect?
Please try and take my post lightly. I'm aware of restrictions and what not. Shelf space allocation, stores' unwillingness dictating products, aiming things at kids who have the attention span of a goldfish to make sure they don't wander to the Ben 10 aisle and all that. But really, this just sounds like a bunch of people stepped out of a cave one day and said 'wow, this is how people play with our toys?' then frantically and excitedly makes notesahhh, business men never change.
You nailed it.
So.
Construct Bots: Meh.
Generations. AMAZING. Definitely getting Cosmos, Waspinator, and RHINOX! *drools* (side note: I could have sworn there was a "drool" emote, but I can't find it) Might get Goldbug and Swerve. Probably not getting Doubledealer, although I like what they did with him. The shark face on the jet nosecone is a nice homage both to a real military practice and Doubledealer's original Decepticon beast mode.
Beast Hunters: *cries*

So clearly, Hasbro just padding out the Prime line at this point while they focus on Generations and develop the movie 4 toys, probably launching next Spring. IT'S OKAY TO JUST END THE LINE, GUYS. It's gonna take a few months to clear out the old stuff anyway, so ship the last waves in time for Christmas, let the residual stock be picked at over the next few months, and let Generations carry the line until TF4. BAM. I think I just out-business'd Hasbro. This is what happens when you fire your senior marketing director.

Talked about going back to basics, demonstrated how easy it was to transform G1 Optimus Prime
I'm afraid that these are, indeed, 2014's Beast Hunters toys.

It's a shame about the upsizing in the prime line, but I'm surprised they didn't boot Hardshell up and label him as just an Insecticon warrior.
Skids? It's not a bad choose, but I was hoping for Chromedome to get a figure first...oh well. We're getting Whirl so it's not too bad!

And Dreadwing looks like just another Sweep thanks to the stealth bomber update we got with Scourge a few years back, and that Goldbug is kinda hideous in my opinion.
As usual I was expecting a little more (especially this year with the impending anniversary looming), but I can't complain much considering the impending Hasbro Masterpiece line coming down the pipe. Those alone should be enough to keep my wallet busy for the next year or so.
*Thanks again for the coverage guys, I imagine the schedule is exhausting.

This is shocking, and utterly ludicrous. Children are children. They are not stupid. They are simply smaller and younger than us. Going back to basics? To anyone who was there, was the guy who said that particularly smug with himself? I bet he was. Another amazing brainstorm session that confirmed to them all wholeheartedly that this was the way to go. Sad thing is, they believe this shtick.

Permit me to introduce one of my fave TF figures: http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/toys/g2/laser-optimus-prime/341/1/61/
Minus the trailer, he has no more than 5! 5 transformation steps, and looks a million times better than this idiocy.
Again, to the good people at Botcon right now, if it is at all possible (which I doubt since they are probably now back in their containment suits analyzing the brainwaves of children via mind flight over the astral plane) could you please PLEASE show this post and the battle convoy link to somebody at Hasbro. Please? PLEASE??
Oh, and now we all know why Takara are padding out the line with those combiners. And knowing is half the battle.

The Generations figs are AMAZING! Not to keen on the blown up legion figs....staying away from those, though I am glad to see the commander Optimus got a voyager scale version. I'll be getting him and Predaking.
