Botcon toys are starting to show up on ebay, and some of them have pictures...

And I'm only mentioning this because the guy that people seem to think is based on Energon Six Shot looks to me like he's actually a homage to Cybertron Brimstone.

Looks like the Decepticon Clones are Jet Vehicons. Nice to see them released stateside... though I'd rather just have some generic Jet Vehicons, these will do. :D

Actually, it looks like one jet and one car.

It also looks like they have arms microns, and the car has the version of the gun from the RiD Vehicon release in addition to his arms micron.

Yea - you're right, one Jet one car. I guess Pounce and Wingspan wouldn't make sense if both had wings... :P

If that doesn't work out for you, Depth Charge and Transmutate are available at the club's online store, so you could probably get someone to order them from there for you if you asked around.

Well, I caved. I totally bought a bunch of Botcon exclusives off of ebay just now. Oddly enough, the ones I wanted/purchased were all the figures not included in the boxed set. I didn't go for Scorponok, Ginrai or any of the others. I snagged Flamewar, the three 'Knights', the two 'Pirates' and the two Clones. I'm also gonna snag a Primal Prime once one comes up that's already been painted (and painted well at that). If a few days or so go by without any painted/customized Primal Primes showing up, then I'll just snag one of the unpainted ones and attempt it myself. I just wish it included the paints so I wouldn't have to worry about color matching.

It's funny that this year, just as with last year's set (the Rainmakers (Welcoming Committee), the show-exclusives were the only ones to interest me and the ones in the boxed set were a flop or at least not worth paying the prices. I mean I get that Scorponok and Devcon in particular have been requested like crazy and were definitely excellent choices for exclusives, especially with the custom Headmaster head for Scorponok and all, but I just wasn't convinced that I needed to have them in my collection. That said, all these 3H Beast Wars characters were absolute must haves for me. I've got all of their original versions already, but most of these are really awesome, and in the case of Alpha Trion it's the closest I'll ever come (short of a custom) to the 3H Botcon repaint that could've been but never was save for a single sample:
Image

edit: I just realized that even Devcon was planned that final year before 3H went under:
Image

So given that, plus Apelinq, Primal Prime and Shokoract (and any others who might have appeared in/been featured in the 3H Wreckers/Botcon fiction) it seems that in addition to being the 30th anniversary celebration for Transformers, it's also sort of a homage to the 3H days sort of giving them their dues for being the previous guys running Botcon I guess.

For the curious, there's a whole article about these never released 3H exclusives with pictures and info here on TFormers. They also have pics of the display cases from this year's Botcon showing off all of this year's exclusives, including the show-exclusives but I won't post those since I expect Seibertron has their own that they intend to post for the news feed.

Actually it wasn't too bad. The price I got for getting all of them together was considerably lower than trying to buy each set individually so I don't figure the prices will drop by that much, particularly for some of these that you know people are gonna be snatching up like crazy (such as the Clones).

I'll probably shell out for the kreons, but TFSS payments are coming up, and then MP prowl... and I really want that comiccon dinobots set but I figure if I wait long enough that will be reasonably priced on ebay.

Yeah, I definitely don't regret my purchases. These are definitely the figures to have. That seems to be a recurring theme for the past couple years or so. The attendee-only figures beat out the boxed set figures. Those Vehicons in particular look amazing as the Decepticon Clones. That choice was a stroke of genius on the Club's part and it allowed them to finally give us the Jet Vehicon mold. Very cool.

With the demand for G1 figures to be re-introduced into the CHUG lines, I really hope these "pirated" (see what I did there?) Clones are released to the general public as Decepticon Clones Wingspan and Pounce, even if they're not beasts. All the botcon figures are pretty sweet, but those "Clones" would be the only two "must haves" I would want of this Botcon collection.

While I'm going to be using the clones as Pounce and Wingspan on my shelves, I really do like that they`re mass produced clone clones.

As someone who army built the hell out of the various Vehicon releases, I may get two more sets down the road.

While I get the thinking behind those molds for Pounce and Wingspan, I can't help but think they would've made more sense for Fastlane and Cloudraker.

Of course, they could've really blown minds by using the molds for both sets of Autobot and Decepticon clones, suggesting they're all clones of the same robot. :D

With all the sheer awesome that is the secondary exclusives, the polybagged sets, I kinda wish Funpub decided to forgo the box set based on the 30th anniversary of transformers, and make it a set dedicated to botcons 20th. They still could've included devcon and scorponok, plus they probably would've been able to pull of more kickass figures based on previous exclusives, or Unreleased ones.

Also on a side note, is odd that the Kreons this year are figures unrelated to the boxset? Last years machine wars termination kreons were parallel to the figures from the box set, this year they're all previous exclusives, which makes me think a botcon 20th set would've been better than the transformers 30th.

That's the truth! I couldn't care less about most of the set figures, Scorponok excluded. But even Scorpy is skipable because the energon version is good enough for me.

The Clones, and the bikes are the "must buys" for me.

Shockoract, Alpha Triser and Brimstone are all pretty nice too.
Not must haves, but all quite nice.

Did I call the use of FoC Air Raid or what? Better yet, he's homaging Cybertron Brimstone, that's the kind of surprise I dig.

And the Clones I could easily see being originally produced by Wings Jhiaxus, maybe commissioned by Cannonball. Igu being included is icing on the cake.

Alpha Trizer, Apelinq and Hunter are all must-haves... *sob*

Im shocked by the love these crappy character choices are getting. I only bought the non attendee box set and grabbed Flamewar on ebay. I also had took a gamble on the class figure before knowing what it was in my preorder, but kind of like it for the clear red plastic. He will be my rabid hate plauge ape. 75 bucks on that was a fair deal.

But those clones...ugh. How could funpub not give them proper heads instead of vehicons ? Im pretty sure a 3rd party will make proper heads. The yellow shockwave repaint just sucks because the mold sucks to begin with. Alpha Lion (or whatever his name is) is a joke. I know theres a still a heavy demand for the 2007 botcon alpha trion, but cmon thats thing dont cut it as a place holder. Flareup looks good, but its basically an orange arcee. Maybe if they had done a fembots 3 pack it would have been worth picking up. But im happy with the 2005 versions. I actually like the black crab, but I 60 dollar like him, not 125 dollar like him. Apelinq...I dont really care about. I want to keep my beast wars collection simple. I dont regret my decison of skipping botcon this year. I did Pasadena in 2011 so its not like I missed any adventuring out thrre. Alot of money saved on hotel, airfare, and high priced California food.

I kind of agree with you, but just not with so much of a vitriol I think. I think a lot of the choices, mold and character wise, are just dull. Yes, I see what they did, and I understand that their referencing 3H/old Fun Pub OC's is one of those things we're expected to be beside ourselves with awe and wonder at, but to me, it just makes a random jumble of a set more random and jumbled.
I think all the toys look very nice, add on wise; the box set is still real weak to me. I think the bikes look great, and I think the Clones look good, but to me they don't work. I think the Vehicon heads actually work into a fiction where the two guys are supposed to be clones, but to me they just look like white Vehicons. That Alpha Trion is just stupid.
I get the idea that this set was a way better sounding idea than it was a practice. It's like Fun Pub's own little Generations line, but for me at least, it just didn't work out.

Rusty Brown Prime! :D

Though, they are all knocked over!

The Vehicon Clones look awesome. Only thing I really want, though Ape-Linq is tempting, because, Beast Wars.

That last Grimlock is massive. Adult Collector sticker on it too!

so was that one display just not set up or did they fall over? Is it an actual set or just a random display, seems odd that they'd bring back crankcase seeing as how he was killed. Also who is the 3rd one there? I dont recognize the alt mode and the robot mode is to obscured to make enough out.

The 3rd figure is apparently Generation Skids as the AoE Rally car. It's meant to be the scene where the feds pull up(Crankcase) and OP escapes by driving through the barn door.

I like most of the attendee stuff, but not enough to go out and buy them for the post-Botcon inflated eBay prices. The only things I think I'm going to try and get right out the gate are Cannonball, Fire Guts Ginrai, and Shockaract.

BTW, since the Club decided to use EVERY PRIME ARCEE MOLD this year, I'm surprised they didn't do something like this for Shokaract:

And yeah, personally I think Shockract would be more interesting had he been the Sharkticon Megatron mold. As it stands, he's not interesting at all.
