Four others of these figures are all Diaclone homages.Mkall wrote:Sabrblade wrote:The red Waspinator is based on Diaclone Warudaros.
Was that ever confirmed by an official source? That strikes me as a very far-fetched theory otherwise. Far easier to believe it's homaging the red/gold TM2 Waspinator.
The Waspinator 4-pack is called "Waruders".
There's no gold on the red Waspinator.
The two Waspinators based on known Waspinator decos both have their decos laid out in pretty much exactly where each color was on the original, so a proper Transmetal Waspinator homage would likely not be as half-baked as this one would be if it were meant to be based on Transmetal Waspinator.
The red Waspinator has all of its colors laid out in accordance to the deco layout of Warudaros with an overall red body, black on the upper torso surrounding dark blue details, gray/silver shoulders/hands/lower torso, striped thighs, teal/blue forearms, and dark blue translucent plastic.

Wow, those are amazingly obscure characters... and Sentinel Prime.
Seriously, this is basically a "bottom of the barrel, last guys you'd ever expect to get toys" set, but then there's Sentinel Prime, which is just hilarious. "You promised you wouldn't laugh!"

The paint apps and finishing is nicely done and detailed. Even the rims are fully painted.
Not sure about the others but when I first saw him, the camo itself is not enough to identify him. Luckily, the G2 Autobot logo narrowed down the search.
While the original G2 version transformed into a dumper truck, having a new version of General Optimus Prime that transform into a fully weaponize off-road vehichle is not really a bad choice (personally).
Personally, the alt mode is just okay for me, not bad but not great either. But I'm really surprised how the robot mode turn out to be with G2 General Optimus Prime's paint scheme.
Not only he has the same star on the chest just like the unreleased G2 version, the head sculpt does resembles the original mold which can explain why Roadbuster mold was chosen in the first place.
The quality of the figure is pretty much the same as previous variants and the joints are even tighter than my Generations Roadbuster.

btw Anybody notice that the bio card has no faction symbol of any kind:
Zaptrap himself is more like an animal, with Beet-Chit as his master or "pilot". They have to be from the Diaclone universe, now part of the Cymond cluster along with other TF-related franchises (like Microman, Yuusha/Brave and even Starriors). Can't wait to see the other Souvenirs.

The name supposedly comes from the comic, and those who have it say he works with the Diaclone guys, so his toy is a good guy but comes with bad guys.JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:Guys, I may have found the name of the Reflector redeco: Spy-Eye. Good guys, bad guys - going off where we've seen some of these decos in the club comic, this was all just SG without being SG, wasn't it?Sabrblade wrote:The name supposedly comes from the comic, and those who have it say he works with the Diaclone guys, so his toy is a good guy but comes with bad guys.JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:Guys, I may have found the name of the Reflector redeco: Spy-Eye. I'm super into this as a warudaros homage. This definitely makes the set for me. At first I was disappointed the freebie wasn't a deluxe, but this is pretty much perfect

I just found out that Burnout and Lift-Ticket aren't new names, rather they're two characters from the G.I. Joe franchise. Not for nothing, as Henshin Cyborg, Microman and Diaclone are all descended from our G.I. Joe.

Spy-Eye is on the first page to feature Burn Out and Lift-Ticket. So which two-pack is which on the etailer pre-orders pages?
Is the one with OP and Hound the $129 or the $139 pack? I'm guessing the latter.
Too pricey for me.

I wouldn't count on it. The Club has said that the Blitzwing mold is hard to work with, I'm guessing with the shoulder problems and the color layout.
Homages to the old (Diaclone for Lift-Ticket and Burnout, as well as Dia and Cline) and the canceled (Sgt. Hound and General Optimus Prime) are automatically cool in my book. Love how the bios are done, especially for the Waruder with every variation called out and given names:
Mudfighter with Thrasher (Fox Kids Transmetal homage)
Paralyzer with Buzzer
Parasite with Ripper (Halloween Horrorcon homage)
Storm Rider with Crusher
Any significance to those names? Another couple of G.I. Joe throwbacks like Lift-Ticket and Burnout?

Apart from "Storm Rider", they all sound like generic wasp-related names.

Whoops, and at least the Paralyzer and Mudfighter are vehicle names for GI Joe.

My comment was referring to the Red Hoist and Purple-ish Swerve (and maybe Black Skids) toys being seen in a club magazine comic a few months back as Evil Autobots hanging out with SG Rodimus.Seibertron wrote:ScottyP wrote:Good guys, bad guys - going off where we've seen some of these decos in the club comic, this was all just SG without being SG, wasn't it?Sabrblade wrote:The name supposedly comes from the comic, and those who have it say he works with the Diaclone guys, so his toy is a good guy but comes with bad guys.JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:Guys, I may have found the name of the Reflector redeco: Spy-Eye.
