Hello, All TF fans! The UM trailer Armor is called: “City Commander”, it’s a fully transformable, completely colored and assembled. Same as the CJ upgrade kit which is designed and fan-made by us. These Fan-made projects are the first two projects we worked on. The CJ upgrade kit was a limited run with very low quantities produced, which were just enough to offer to some fan-clubs only. Unfortunely, City Commander will be limited quantities with a locked SRP, and mainly offered to North American Fans this time. Please contact your favourite online retailer for more details about the City Commander. Thanks and please enjoy these preview pictures!

This is the response I received back on Feb 28th when I emailed BBTS this very question so I know they are interested. Like I told BBTS when I emailed them: if they carry it, I'll preorder two of them. Same goes for the Prime trailer from earlier this week.

Too bad "limited" pretty much translated to "cooking your boots to feed yourself expensive" :\

So, any predictions on cost?

They should increase the production of that UM-Armor because i would bet MY LIFE that a majority of the people using this site, other sites and all transformers fans will want that!
Why issolate potential customers?

I hate that it's always just the US that receives these things.

This seems a little backwards to me, us having to coldcall retailers. Not much of an announcement when you think about it, just new pics.

Couldn't they have said so when they released the first pics?
First they get me worked up about an upgrade kit for my favourite character, and then they wait a long time just to tell me i ain't getting it? DAMN!

Don't worry it's US retailers only. If Joel from Bigbadtoystore or any other online retailer can get a shipment of them you can just order the upgrade from them.

LETS CAMPAIN FOR BOTCON-EUROPE! BRITS, FRENCH, GERMANS...WE ALL DESERVE OUR OWN EXCLUSIVES!
agreed, why dis-hearten over 50% of the fandom!? i thought they originally said this was going to be on a wider release, so that anyone who wanted one could get one?

I'm defiantly going to buy this!
...
and now I have to find a Classics Ultra Magnus
Posted by Sowndwave76 on April 18th, 2008 @ 2:18pm CDT
And since I've passed on all the MP's, I'll get at least one, and maybe even two.
I wonder what the limit per customer will be?
I personally think it is WRONG that they don't increase the number of these that are made, and sell outside of the U.S.
For that matter, why doesn't Hasbro get in on this, make some sort of deal, and re-release Magnus?
And potentially go beyond that, and sell Magnus WITH the kit?
I'm not saying try to re-sale Magnus in stores, just online companies.
That way, Hasbro can really avoid "shelf-warming" and potentially big financial loss.

What shelf warming? UM was an exclusive that some people (I'm one of them) couldn't find at retail. Shelf warming on most exclusives is the fault of the store. I counted 31 MP SS's at one Wal-Mart and some people couldn't find any.
Hasbro and "financial loss" don't belong in the same sentence. In less than six months my Hasbro stock has gone up almost 50%. It's up over 2.5% today.

I couldn't find an MP SS to save my life! But earlier I was up to my ears in UM/SW two packs at all the Targets.....

All I'm saying is that Hasbro is greedy enough to where they wouldn't risk putting out U.M. IN stores JUST because of an upgrade kit that's available from a couple online companies, even if the upgrade kit was given a larger production run.
Let's face it, the chances of this kit ever being IN stores is basically nil.
There are waaaay more people out there in the mass public that don't even know who U.M. is (especially kids),
and definitely not from that Classics version.
In fact, even if Magnus was released in stores with the upgrade kit, it wouldn't sell that much better.
Especially considering that the price could easily be $30-$40.
I mean, I saw today at a TRU that Hasbro wants $26+ for that Scorponok/Blackout 2 pk.
And no one's saying they don't make money... Don't try and make your points by skewing what others post...
Hasbro obviously tries to consider what will and won't make money by whatever standards they feel are worthy, and what's in their best interest.
It's just unfortunate this doesn't match up more often with what people who are truly interested in TF really want.

wow this is getting serious.
But i agree Hasbro have nothing to lose. I would guess that for the same price as the custom dudes could produce 100, hasbro could produce 500 (because hasbro obviously have more resources). If the two could strike a deal...a Magnus + Armor set would make a great product.

You're more than welcome to point out where I "skewed" what you said.
Hasbro does what's in the best interest of share holders. The odds of seeing a trailer for Magnus at retail from them is beyond slim. How many of us are still waiting for a masterpiece Magnus trailer?
The collector's club and other entities, such as the one making this trailer, fill the void for collectors. Whenever Hasbro has put out collector pieces in large numbers here in North America they haven't sold well. How many people picked up masterpiece Prime or the reissues on clearance?
A lot of collectors seem to forget we collect a kid's toy. Your last sentence is an example of this. The people most interested in transformers isn't us on this board. There are more parents buying these toys than collectors and it's not close.
I'm just thankful transformers are more popular than ever. Popularity means more toys for all of us
Btw, you seem to have taken my post personally and I'm not sure why. There was nothing abrasive in it.
