Since October 13 artist Alex Pelayre has been sharing his concept art for the cancelled Transformers: Heavy Metal game that was being delevoped by Niantic (Pokemon Go) on Twitter. So far he's shared 24 images covering "the main bots" covering a bunch of Autobots, Decepticons (including Constructicons and Devastator) and Soundwave's mini-cassettes in a new take on the G1 designs
Here‘s the first tweet in the chain (the rest can be read by following the link):
"Well, since the game was cancelled, here's some work I did for Transformers: Heavy Metal! I'm taking my time getting all the concepts in order, but I'll have more to show on my website eventually" https://twitter.com/AlexPelayre/status/ ... S0UvVRjZ5A
And all the images he’s posted so far:
A fascinating look at what might have been!

So Rumble is red, and Frenzy is blue...with sonic-drill-hands? I'm RIR/FIB to the end, but mostly because Frenzy deserves to be distinct, so this is even better! And Howlback would've been in it? Or just multiple Ravage clones in one outing?
The differences between Starscream and Slipstream have me wondering what their respective alts would've looked like. Guess I'd better follow this guy too.

Toys please yes Grifitmus Prime, Toys!
Too bad the game died.
Please get the High Moon team back together and make a less high budget game (skim on the graphics) to just make it a good single player game so that the company doesn't go bankrupt after just 1 title.

Really? When you told me before that the mold was for "the video game that would have been out" it sounded like you were talking about a canceled game, not a future game.

Gotta say, when they talked about mini-con designs, I wasn't expecting them to be quite so reminiscent of BotBots! Interesting mix of designs, looks like they were exploring silhouettes and concepts ranging from BotBots, through Wall-E, to 80s brick toys, to random bits of sci-fi machinery come to life.

I don't want to be overdramatic but I am disappointed we won't get to see these in action - I love these designs so much! Terrific finds, Glyph!
