Maybe it'll be something for his alt mode: extra track to make him a true alternative to that old TF electric train set?
Or maybe they're venturing into full fledged original figure territory with some non-transforming guardians cheap enough to truly troop build with, like Impossible Toys has previewed on their site for years. Nothing against that awesome ehobby Guardian, but the cheapest it ever got was about $120, a tad too rich to buy a legion of.
Wait, this is Crazy Devy, so the price will be stratospheric.
Maybe new gargantuan arms that form a rocket big enough to actually fit Legends size Autobots into?

thats funny
The only thing I can see that really NEEDS improving are the legs. The claw arm and laser arm have some of the best articulation on any G1. Yea a face would be nice, BUT, I can testify that getting that plastic shield off is dangerous. My original still walks, and the two plastic "wheels" that move the legs are VERY fragile. Hopefully the legs will not walk, but look great and add some height to him. On my "Big boy" shelf, he is the smallest.

Just based on every other CD product ever made, I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess it'll be a new face with light up eyes. That's the pattern with them, isn't it? Head first and then it's anybody's guess.
Having no Omega Supreme to upgrade means these sets are an easy pass. I may pass on any future Devestator upgrades as well with not one, buy two whole new options to choose from.
Posted by gothsaurus on July 8th, 2011 @ 1:49pm CDT
AND please post finished product pictures before selling any individual parts. Buying a Devastator wrist or a Predaking toe is silly without seeing an assembled robot. Fans need this visual to make an informed decision about pricing and simply whether they want the product.
And of course, having a KIT with all the parts at a slightly discounted rate would be the best. It's a pain when some parts sell out, but others don't. You're left scouring 3rd party sellers and ebay just trying to complete the figure. It's a bit of a joke.

I own the encore reissue, and to be honest, he's a great toy.

I've got a growing suspicion that you sir believe Crazy Devy charges maybe too much for their products?

Everyone knows they charge too much for their stuff.
I would own most of their stuff right now if it was all about half price. For now, I'll stick with FansProject and other groups that have good stuff and is affordable.

Wow.....he does look pretty damn small when put beside those behemoths..buuuuuttt.......his alt mode is arguably one of the best of that bunch if not THE best!IMO. He's huge in his alt mode, it looks cool and it's fun as hell.
As for CD and what they have to offer as far as an upgrade, i can't hazard to guess. I know for sure that it will be exorbitantly priced though.
Their promo tactics are definitely an annoyance aswell. Just show us the F*@#'n upgrade already!!! This teaser bullshit they pull drives me bonkers.

Teasers generate interest, and there are obviously those individuals who now are waiting impatiently for more info. I believe CD accomplished their goal.

Yes, Omega's track and rocket alt. mode is Pretty Sweet! I would like some legs with added height, however, more track would be alot of fun too!
Price tag will most likely, keep me from buying.
Teaser images in general; suck. I almost feel 3rd party companies release images months (sometimes it turns out year/s) in advance to feel out the crowd. Like if everyone harps on a feature or color or design, they will have time to change it. Why else would you want the "OMG I must have it!" effect to where off over months leading up to the actual products release?

Me too. I missed out on the original and hate myself for it. In any case, though, we could use a new Omega. People have said that Hasbro won't because it will be a shelf warmer, but if that's the case, then what about the overabundance or leader and ultimate class Bumblebees?

I assume you've taken physics before? It's also used as the symbol for ohm. At least, most teachers tend to know and explain what the Greek letters seen in their classes are.
Omega is probably the most well known Greek letter: It's been used in Star Trek, it's the logo for the God of War games, there's a watch company named Omega that uses it as a logo, symbol of the resistance movement in the Vietnam era, it's a fairly common symbol. It's even used on the patches of the last space shuttle flight since one of its meanings is "end".
It's actually a pretty good assumption on CrazyDevy's part that the majority of its customers will know the symbol.

Im from the streets of Miami. High school grad, but no college. Skipped class, hung out with the wrong crowd and eventually changed my life for the better. But I think it's a pretty bad assumption on Crazy Devys part to assume that all Transformers collectors are highly educated in foreign languages or physics. I dont do star trek, or video games. I do know "omega" means "the end" from rap music metaphors, but never seen the symbol in my life.

Didn't take Greek in high school, but picked it up based on other experiences in life (such as other people previously mentioning video game references and some Physics). The "assumption" of CrazyDevy is on YOUR behalf. CD only does a teaser, and they can be vague on purpose which is usually their intent. In August, we should get product images which will show beyond a doubt what the project will be for. It just happened that a lot of us have a pretty damn good idea that it will be related to Omega Supreme since there is an Omega symbol on the picture.
You asked originally how the symbol indicates Omega Supreme, and I answered you. I took no assumptions in your lack of education or experience towards the symbol. Your response indicates that you now take offense to having your question answered. Next time, maybe you shouldn't bother to ask questions you don't know the answer to.

I wasn’t offended by anything you said.
But this statement made by Midnight Fox did irk me a little bit:

You know what they say about the word “assume” right? He assumed that I had been in a physics class before which I have not. I’m not really upset with him. Its just time too get away from what society has deemed the stereotypical Transformers to be.

I apologize for that, then. I took physics in high school, so had presumed that you probably had as well. Some times I forget that schools and states have different requirements and curricula.

I knew immediately what the implication was. Omega watches are the only wrist watch my wife wears. I took one physics class and don't remember much about it. It is the Ohm's symbol on my multimeter though. Aside from the symbol, I'm more concerned about this product being a significant or necessary upgrade. I hope it is NOT. CD stuff is VERY expensive and I pray it's something I can pass up.

Just by reading some of the posts on this very board, you can tell there's not a "stereotypical Transformers" fan. Even though we all come from different backgrounds, it's nice to be able to share in at least this one passion.
Okay, back to bitching about high prices...

As it stands, I'm still wondering which of the Devy upgrades I have are finished, or still underway.
My guess for Omega, SMALLER fake tracks on his back. The ones on him look really unnaturally huge. That's been most of Devy's upgrades thus far... size fixes. (width of the head, size of blasters, etc.)

gothsaurus wrote:For a teaser... how about posting a pic of the part. THEN for a reveal, post pics from all sides of the completed figure with ALL parts shown.
Well, considering this is the "official announcement" (or declaration, who knows) for the figure - and you know they'll be trying to make multiple pieces - I think the pic is appropriate.
gothsaurus wrote:As it stands, I'm still wondering which of the Devy upgrades I have are finished, or still underway.
I think we're all in that boat. I really don't think CD has ever come out and announced all of their intended products for a certain figure. Even Devastator, who we haven't seen a new add-on piece in quite some time, could still be "in progress" in their mind. I remember a looooong time ago, CD posted a shadow teaser of Predaking, and that gave us some ideas as to what pieces were being made. But never an official statement from them.
gothsaurus wrote:My guess for Omega, SMALLER fake tracks on his back. The ones on him look really unnaturally huge. That's been most of Devy's upgrades thus far... size fixes. (width of the head, size of blasters, etc.)
I would agree with your guess. Now I need to make purchasing an Encore Reissue a priority...
Posted by gothsaurus on July 11th, 2011 @ 11:23am CDT
And again, for the record, i've been very happy with the quality and sculpt of these pieces... just bummed about the pricing and vague-ness of each. I think by keeping each set "ongoing", it's a way for him to mask/hide the total price. As soon as he say's a figure is finished, that will mean we can actually put a total price tag on any given figure. Hmmmmmm.
I'm tempted to write him again requesting a complete (and discounted) full set for each figure... just to say I did.
Can you imagine a FansProject project where you bought a fist, toe, knife, hip of Bruticus? Or where you didn't see a full set of photos from every angle and transformation?
Posted by necr0blivion on July 11th, 2011 @ 12:35pm CDT
Someone mentioned in another thread (very hopeful) that we could get a "complete" CD set for Devastator in preparation of the Encore Reissue later this year. I just don't see this happening from CD, but I would glad if they did and hope for a decrease in the overall price.
Posted by Gauntlet101010 on July 11th, 2011 @ 1:27pm CDT
I don't know if CD would make a full set for Encore Devestator .... but I can see them re-releasing their individual sets for it. Why not?

gothsaurus wrote:All things considered... if you total up the cost of ALL the CD Devastator upgrades, it would probably cost more than the actual reissue box set. Guessing we won't ever see Devy selling the parts in a set for this reason.
I've got my preorder in for Encore - $119.95.
If I were able to purchase all issued and correct (some pieces have a * next to the name because it's for a different color Devy, fits the KO-only, or has a silver repaint) pieces directly from Crazy Devy, I would pay $137.83 without including shipping. $9 for initial item + $5 for each extra item (4) brings that total to $162.83. Yep, more expensive than purchasing the figure itself. Other online distributors mark-up these pieces individually, so it would probably be even more expensive to get a set elsewheres. The other issue is, last I checked, not one site (not even CD) have all pieces available for sale.
*shrugs* Guess it goes to how comfortable people are spending that kind of money.
Posted by gothsaurus on July 11th, 2011 @ 2:52pm CDT
Yeah, I don't think anybody trying to assemble a set has likely been able to complete set without having to use a re-seller (He often sells out quickly.) That inflates the price even more... plus the delay in between orders has required paying full shipping multiple times. I'd warrant most people spent more like $180+ for a full set.
That's insane.
But yeah. Thinking of getting it as a full set... It would be a benefit just not having to use multiple resellers to complete a figure.
