Not a huge Diaclone fan, but it looks cool.

I could just see this thing playing a pivotal role in some sort of Shogun Warriors/ROM/Micronauts crossover ala Revolution 1980: When licensed toy properties allowed into the Marvel Universe collide! Maybe that doesn't make sense to anyone else, but that's what it's making me feel.
May actually have to save up for this one.

That trailer reminds me the the Armada trailer.
Day 253 of waiting for Transformers Armada Masterpiece news.

I need that trailer in my life. I'm less sure how I feel about Battle Convoy being his traditional Prime colors.

It's so impressive

Really all that's left for me is to wait for Amazon Japan to list it. It's on AmiAmi for roughly $265, but I think Amazon should be able to get it under $250 and the shipping will be cheaper. I doubt it'll be enough for me start a Diaclone collection, but this one is a must!

Import, no Diaclone has gotten a US release

Emerje wrote:Definitely want this. It's been a long time since we've had such a radical reimagining of the guy, I'm surprised more people aren't excited. I have no issue pretending it's a new Optimus Prime and it's basically a "Duobot" with the truck able to slit horizontally with land and air halves. My only complaint is that he's a bit short at around 7", but that's pretty big for a Diaclone.

I'm afraid it will start another collection. I've been tempted by Nu Diaclone before. Now...

What difference would it make anyway though? Look at the MPs, they all have US releases now but they are just as costly if not more and they are bought at the same place you buy Japan imports (like BBTS). So it's all the same.
If you want the best price, buy from Amazon Japan.

Even if they wanted to release this as say, Battle Optimus Prime, the price point doesn't fit into any existing price/size class. From what I can tell this is more expensive than a Titan Class figure but roughly old style Leader Class.

Even smaller.
He's as tall as Diabattles.

180mm is roughly 7in. Diabattles is as tall as older voyagers or MP car bots.

I thought they were all bigger than that. Thank God I haven't bit when tempted.

Yeah, I think the talk of size is besides the point. This is a different toyline with a different quality for a different audience. It's like asking why a Rolex costs more than a timex even though they are the same size.

Emerje wrote:Anyone know how much this weighs? (It's 700g, 1.5lbs no way that includes the trailer.) Only asking because the shipping from Amazon Japan is ridiculous. MP Optimus Prime was 1,200JPY (around $11.30) to ship, but Diaclone Battle Convoy is 5,296JPY (about $50). Total price is 32,728JPY ($308), it would be cheaper through TFsource. I'm guessing they had to change carriers for the pandemic, hopefully shipping is back to normal by February.
Emerje
Glad I went the TFsource route then this time. Could go HLJ for $275ish, but I haven't used them yet, and would rather not until I've done something like an in-stock order.
I think that weight would include the trailer, they're not ultra heavy or anything, just well filled out and lots of moving parts.

Maybe it is accurate then. MP-44 is like 4 lbs, but that's a bigger figure and there's a lot of extra stuff in the box, while Earthrise Prime is 1.10 lbs (I'm using Takara Tomy's listed weights, BTW) and probably more comparable in size.
It just occurred to me that Amazon Japan uses DHL for shipping to the US who is still fully active from Japan anyway so I have no idea what the story is with the shipping cost. And just for the fun of it I checked Sky Lynx who no doubt has a bigger box and weighs around 2 lbs and the shipping was around $21.

I gambled similarly with takara exclusive leader class Optimus prime from the BB movie and lost.

Some twitter friends and I were going back and forth, one said that tridasher was the size of a slice of bread, but I didn't have any bread so I took a picture next to my toaster strudel, which prompted: can it fit in the toaster?
And thus, we have a whole new metric to judge if a toy is good or not: can it fit in a toaster

While those are absolutely wonderful pics. I'm still not sure I'm sold on him. I kind of still want the red cycle, but want a close look at the face. Neither quite 100% go with the "military"/"black" decos. The regular one is close, but I don't feel the head/face quite matches.
I did bite the bullet and drop a $30 deposit on the Battle Convoy VMAX through BBTS. It does seem that shipping from Japan kind screws the cost savings lately. Plus if push *really* comes to shove I can still save $270 if I find I really cant afford him later. Eventually amazon.jp will cut that off... (just occurred to me I should have gone through TFSource- not that $5 flat rate shipping is a deal-breaker).
Was kind of hoping they'd leak the potential recolor of the Battle Convoy, or the 3rd V-Support vechile (though I'm not sold on the "tank mode" or the exo-gauntlets- though they look great with the Bike Boi).
Kind of surprised reviews/shipping hasn't happend for the Wauruder Solider type (Gigantor arm unit).

Trirambler is actually the 4th of the Triverse. Tridasher, Trijetter, and Tridigger are the main 3 equivalent to the Powerdashers, while Triramber is his own thing sort of based on Cykill.
To answer your question, no, I only have these 2. Only 2 I particularly wanted.

I really like the Triramber mech. I think it is a much better mold than the Tridasher, and is more posable and honestly with the bike components more fun. transformation is simpler and not as involved, which makes Tridasher quite fun, but the amount of stuff you can do with the bike wheels is awesome. And the color scheme is really nice, not quite full black, but the rich black coupled with the blues, reds, and the gray and silvers makes for a sharp mech.
I would still recommend this one, and particularly this deco. The red doesn't quite do it for me, and the black head with red crest and yellow visor looks hella sharp here.
I'm thinking I'll stick with the original colors for Battle Convoy no matter what. I used TFsource for mine

Seriously though the designs are removed enough from the original toys that I'm not feeling them that much, the first review of the main guy wasn't that positive either; the size to price ratio really isn't there too. Was the original Battle Convoy part and compatible with the more "Futuristic" looking Diaclone toys?
D-Maximal_Primal wrote:For anyone wondering, those new stands on Pulse are diaclone Triverse compatible
I ordered those too. Two questions; are the claws removable so you can just peg figures in, and how strong is the bendy arm?
