Encore Metroplex - Batteries Required

Posted by Stormrider Jun 2, 2008 at 3:17am CDT 22,122 views
Encore Metroplex is now listed on e-Hobby’s website. And what is special is that he is listed with batteries (which are not included). Could this simply be an error? Or, will the Encore version be updated with sound and electronic features?

Since this is the most recent Encore figure added to the lineup - there is very little information known at this time. Takara seems to be adding different highlights to various Encore figures – such as new heads for Ironhide and Ratchet, a face for Omega Supreme, a remolded face for Jazz, etc.

Will Metroplex receive the special Encore treatment with lights and sound? We will certainly learn more as the release date in September approaches.

You can view the original listing here.

Remember the typo on Laserbeak being included with Jazzmeister? Well this one is highly suspicious. Most probably meant for Omega Supreme.

I have a wonderful sparkly complete original Metroplex and had no interest in the Encore release.

But with an addition like this (even though i'm not a fan of the lights and sounds) i'm tempted ...

There is a difference between those two. The issue with Jazz was not a typo. Instead, it was due to a mistranslation because someone put the information through a Google translator.

There is no mistake that the information on Metroplex's description says 2 AAA batteries required. But with that said, it is possible that it is a typo. But we will have to wait and see.

My gut tells me typo. My heart hopes for it to not be a typo.

Electric Metroplex could be cool. Lots of places to put a battery pack on him, just can't help but wonder what they'd power up?

Maybe some light up hands and light piped guns. For that they'd have to retool the arms Unicron style, which realy I wouldn't mind :D

You press a button and he says "Aaargh! My Eye... You Took My Eye!" like that episode with Starscream's ghost.

I'm speculating that either a light up eyes or a transform sound or laser blast effects. , or maybe a separate sound pack like G-2 Optimus if this isn't a typo.

I'm voting for typo. Aside from lighting up his eyes, I really can't see what they would light up without redesigning the mold.

Actually Encore Jazz doesn't have a remolded face. He has the original mold's face. Hasbro used their own mold for the TRU reissue which had suffered mold degredation. If you look at G2 Jazz and TRU reissue Jazz they have the same face. Takara used their own mold for Jazz.

I also believe this is a typo much like Laserbeak coming with Encore Jazz. The only difference between this Jazz and previous reissues is he was tameographed.

Interesting.

I wonder if this is true where the battery pack will be stationed, put in the wrong location it could really add some strain to joints on the figures.

Then again this is a Takara product, not a Hasbro one, so the chances of them stuffing up a battery compartments location is fairly low.

i really hope this isn't true. i've never liked the whole gimmicky lights and effects thing. plus these are encores so they should stay as true as possible to the originals.

I don't care if it's a mistake or not. I've never seen Metroplex in person before so you can guarantee I'll be gettin' one
