Hold on, did they mention something (Sonic) on the Title of the Last Episode?

The term "Freedom Fighters" has been used in a lot of media over the years, even in at least one piece of TF fiction where a Peter Cullen-voiced Optimus says "Well done, freedom fighters!"Albatross250 wrote:"Freedom Fighters"?

Same thing happened to the Stuntacons/Menasor. 13+ episodes of build up, they took him down in one. (well he actually appeared in 2 I think, but the B team combiner took him out on their first try after Menasor had supposedly "destroyed whole planets)..."...

I'm sorry, the first season was fairly entertaining, and the Starscream 6 episode arc was actually quite good, but this show has just felt generic this whole season. I'm more than ready for it to be over. Why is it the series I love get cancelled before their time, and the ones I don't like drag on...

Honestly, I think I agree with you on this one. I've said my 'this show hasn't progressed and has stayed stagnant' thing a lot by now so I'll spare you all the speech this time, but this episode really shows it. It also doesn't help that the mini-con's side switch came out of nowhere. Man, wouldn't it have been interesting to see a lot of the season focus on that? See how their characters develop, see a bit of their backstory, maybe have it lead into a Soundwave arc by having them show the Bee team where he is and what he's up to? Wouldn't that have been so much more entertaining and interesting than seeing Clampdown again while Sideswipe and Strongarm have their 384th lesson about not bickering with each other?
Also, gotta love how the Shadowzone has previously been portrayed as basically a living hell to be in but Optimus said the mini-cons can live there. Optimus friggin' Prime, champion of morality, everyone.

I understand Soundwave stated he created a beacon from resources gathered in the shadow zone. But where did the other Mini Cons come from?
Also Bumblebee was there when Megatron declared the Decepticons disbanded. Now of course we know that did not stick, others will always rise to fill the power vacuum, but even in the heat of battle how hard would it be for Bumblebee to drop on Soundwave "hey your boss quit!" or something like that...Now granted Soundwave would have no reason to believe him, and probably continue his attack, but it might stop and make Soundwave think, at least a well written story might include this detail...

Also I'm a bit confused...If Soundwave is able to somehow communicate with the "Benefactors" on Cybertron, why does he need to make a mega-transmitter to try to phone home to Megatron?

Doesn't explain where in the pit his new body or mini-cons came from, but hey, let's just heap those in the pile of missed opportunities and flaws with this season too.

Maybe Soundwave cannibalized Zombie Skyquake?

Every time he shows up, he has some preachy speech about overcoming adversity, working together, or some other boring inspiring crap. It comes off sounding like Peter Cullen is just phoning it in. This is quite possibly the worst iteration of Optimus Prime.

Kade: "Hey-ey O.P.! What is shakin', Bacon?"
Heatwave: "Sir! My partner insisted on accompanying me to-"
Optimus Prime: "Nothing much, Double Dutch."
Heatwave:

Optimus Prime: "I too have learned from humans."
Optimus Prime: "I am grateful that you were willing to temporary leave your team to assist me."
Blades: "Optimus! Helping you is... I mean, you're bigger than Elvis!"
Optimus Prime: "I have not met this 'Elvis' and am unaware of his size."

See, I can partially agree with you there. BUT ... those lines, while much better than anything he's said in RiD, still feels forced, unnatural, stiff even. He needs more relaxing. I get that he's got this big burden of leadership/mentor on his shoulder, but it's like they're trying to make him "one of the boys" whilst also trying to be make him this big super character. He doesn't fit.
I'm not sure if that even makes any sense, it's really hard to put into words what I feel is wrong with the characterisation because I'm entirely sure myself, he just feels wrong.

So are we looking to turn Optimus into the poster child for cringe compilations? That's some of the worst dialogue I've ever read.

PRETTY.F#^*ING.MUCH.
I just watched the new episode with Soundwave and left with “that’s what we were working toward? That’s the same plot as when he first appeared in RID. Leaving the shadow zone and trying to send a message out to Megatron to return and then being defeated.”
This is the first transformer cartoon ever that I’ve just not cared about. First one I’ve also not picked up on disc. It’s on Netflix and I said “let’s go!”...I watched the first episode, the finale to season two and the starscream three parter and said “I’m good”

You mean Bulkhead? I know he was great! He even had some good character centered episodes. It was just a shame he got partnered with animated bumblebee- ah I mean Miko

Yeah I saw It last week too at tfwiki
3 years is not what I was expecting. If it’s three years why has Bee not bothered to contact Agent Fowler? They left on good terms, autobots and the human governments had an alliance. I’m pretty sure instead of living in a junkyard and now a cave they could have shown up, contacted Fowler or anyone for that matter, said they have an autobot ship that crashed and few dozen decepticons running around and could use the governments help to find and then secure them instead of constantly making prank calls to cities saying there’s a disaster coming and city should be evacuated.
Oh wait...this show is kind of bad...nevermind...
Three years also doesn’t seem like enough time to completely rebuild and repopulate cybertron. It’s been 6 since cybertron came alive again in IDW-G1 verse and they’ll all still kinda living get in garbage. But I guess that depends on who’s drawing that issue. In TAAO/Windblade it looks fine, in RID/TF/OP it looks like a shanty town.

Bee said as much in episode 1 that this is his mission that he wants to do himself with just his team and as minimal human involvement as possible.Randomhero wrote:3 years is not what I was expecting. If it’s three years why has Bee not bothered to contact Agent Fowler?

And that's the problem. There are lives at stake. Let your ego go but this RID where even in an episode about Soundwave finally returning and revealing his ultimate plan we still had to shoehorn a insignificant sub plot about Sideswipe breaking Danny's TV and reminding him he needs to be considerate of others. Side swipe gives Animated Bumblbee, Miko and Prime Arcee a run for their money on never hearning a lesson.

Your saying that the mute, bland and characterless R2 knockoff from Prime is a better character then Rid Bumblebee who has a defined arc and personality?
What do you miss about him what does he even have like how?
Besides a couple of episodes Bumblebee wasn't a character hell the live action films made Bumblebee a character with his radio quirks and emotive body language.

Sideswipe learns plenty of lessons all the time because while each "lesson" can sometimes be similar Sideswipe has pretty much never needed to learn the same thing twice
I'm going to copy and paste something another guys said on another site.
"His focus episodes lessons were
1- Stop trying too hard to impress
2- Don't assume you're nothing without your physical prowess
3- The Thunderhoof episode tested if he was serious about being part of the team or not
4- Proved to Strongarm he wasn't just a two-bit vandal
5- Stopped counting Optimus as invalid just because of his age and weak body
6- Learned that jokes can have limits and proved to the minicons his teasing was just friend banter
7- Worked on his loneliness issues this season both with Blurr's presence looming over his position and the trauma at the base's take-down by Steeljaw and crew"

Yes he totally does learn a lesson and by the next episode he reverts back to old sideswipe and needs to be taught a new one.
