Sadly, Botcon's too rich for my blood this year. To ease the pain, I had to break down and Ebay a Double Punch. He fills the gap...a little.

Two free cookies and a glass of milk if Don Rickles shows up? This is the worst time of the year for such thing.

To see Seibertron's exclusive gallery of the original Flamewar click here and to see Beast Hunters Arcee click here.
Even more unusually Taobao also has what appears to be Arcee repainted as Transmutate. Unlike the recent TFCC version (the gallery of which can be seen here) this version uses the Robots In Disguise version of Arcee rather than the First Edition. A test model or something else?
Don't forget that at this point there is no guarantee that these are the finished designs or that they are genuine BotCon exclusives.
Stick with Seibertron for the latest in BotCon news!

Oh well, my only consolation is I have a chance to make it look better, and I suppose it'll be cheaper to have bought the thing and repainted it by hand than it would be to buy this aftermarket.
Posted by Bounti76 on June 5th, 2014 @ 11:06pm CDT
The Beast Hunters mold fits Flamewar to a T. Spikier and edgier than regular Arcee. Love it!!
Posted by UltraMarginal on June 5th, 2014 @ 11:07pm CDT
There is no reason for the club to produce a second transmutate, it would cut into the sales of the first one.
The flamewar looks cool, but again, unlikely that they'd have two such similar molds, if the flamewar was made using the FE Arcee I'd be a lot more convinced.
I guess I'll just have to go to Botcon and find out for myself.
Posted by Mkall on June 5th, 2014 @ 11:12pm CDT
Flamewar looks decent enough.
Posted by Bumblevivisector on June 5th, 2014 @ 11:18pm CDT
Or is there another iconic flame-bikini-top out there?
One thing we do know for sure: she ain't the free 12-and-under toy...
Now the new Transmutate is just all kinds of confusing. Could this be another case of a female TF being created via experimentation on a male character, but this time the gender switch was a side effect of curing Electro of gold-plastic-syndrome? Because when I picture her in opposition to FE-Arcee Transmutate, the smoother chest and wider wingspan just says Electro more than Transmutate. Go fig. Really curious to find out what the deal is here.

Transmutate makes a buttload of "wat" and "why". I'd like to think that this was a concept that the Club was considering, but decided to ditch it.
Posted by Madeus Prime on June 6th, 2014 @ 10:03am CDT
BUT Flamewar on the other hand: SO MANY TIMES YES!!!
Posted by Jelze Bunnycat on June 6th, 2014 @ 10:14am CDT
Now, Trans-Mutate is a whole different animal. Maybe either will be the Freebie, one as Flamewar herself, the other as a disguise? Either way, I want them.
That is, if everything is actually legit:

It's true. Taobao is where we saw most of the 2010 BotCon figures early, but it's also where we saw that supposed Glyph from the Classics Bumblebee mold. So take everything there with a pinch of salt.

Transformers Prime Thundertron as Alpha Trion (based on the 3H Wreckers Alpha Trion)
Transformers Collectors Club Rampage / Prime First Edition Megatron as Shokaract
Beast Wars 10th Anniversary Optimus Prime as Apelinq
Transformers Prime Vehicon and Jet Vehicon as the Generation 1 Decepticon clones, Pounce and Wingspan
If this list is to believed, personally, I would've wanted too see windrazor, expanded universe cyclonus, and fractyl

Pounce and Wingspan are definitely oddballs, one would think Fastlane and Cloudraker would have been better choices for these molds. Maybe Jhiaxus is offering his services?
Alpha Trion out of Thundertron would be a no-brainer, as would be Apelinq out of BW 10th Primal. Rampage as Shokaract... too soon?

The last time someone suggested Fastlane and Cloudraker from the Vehicon molds, it was pointed out that the Vehicon molds look too evil to work as Autobots, even with a new head.JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:Pounce and Wingspan are definitely oddballs, one would think Fastlane and Cloudraker would have been better choices for these molds. Besides, the Vehicon molds make rather a spiffy Decepticon Clones pair - Click here

Except for the Cybertron toy already being "close enough" to Apelinq's deco, right down to the black and red surfboard.JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:as would be Apelinq out of BW 10th Primal.

I'd Use generations skywarp,Bring it round full circle because of the use of Beast machines Jetstorm (Ultra and deluxe) for Universe cyclonus and Universe Skywarp respectively.

Thats a scary thought, but I feel safe since transmutate comes with a maximal tampo and custom class figures are always tampoless. My guess is cybertron red alert since the custom figure is always a deluxe mold from the box set. What else could they possibly do cyclonus ? (SG already been done) And scourge ? Any decepticon use of the mold would be too similar to takara ratbat.

I'm half hoping the Customizing Class figure is not Red Alert, simply because I want to see Red Alert in next year's TFSS.

There were plenty of Strika clones on ebay last year. Even the club store had them for a while. Dont jinx it for me

Rated X wrote:My guess is cybertron red alert since the custom figure is always a deluxe mold from the box set.
Not true The first years had the Customizing Figure be unrelated to either the boxset or the souvenirs:
2006: Rumble & Inferno from Cybertron Scrapmetal, not used in box set
2007: Overkill from Classics Grimlock, not used in box set
2008: SG Nightbeat from Club Nightbeat, released slightly before.
The rest all had some relation, be it as a direct repaint or base mold if it's a retool. Universe Cyclonus, Prime Ratchet and Generations Scourge are indeed contenders, but the Club is known for pulling rabbits out of their hats.
I could see Cyclonus repainted as this guy:
...just to give us a laugh.

It's merely one of season 3's many infamous animation errors, taking any old character model (Cyclonus's in this case), giving it someone else's deco (Dirge's in this case), and using it as a generic.WolfSpider1979 wrote:Metro Prime wrote:JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:I could see Cyclonus repainted as this guy:

Except for Rumble/Inferno, they've all been Deluxes. Voyagers are too big, not to mention ratchet joints (that both figures use) can be a pain to assemble.

And Pounce/Wingspan out of Vehicons? The Autobot clones called and they are ashamed of that choice.
Full disclosure that discredits me entirely: I'll buy one set of each regardless

She has directed over a thousand episodes of animated projects that include television series, theatrical releases, direct-to-video releases and video games that has earned her four Emmy nominations. Highlights from her most recent animated television projects include the high profile, and critically acclaimed series’ "How to Train your Dragon", " Ben Ten", and " Curious George", as well as " The Land Before Time", "Transformers" and the "Star Wars" series.
