First Image of Transformers Lite Brite Patterns

We have just learned about the latest installment of Transformers merchandising. TFW2005 has just received an image of a Transformers Lite Brite Pattern set with 50 pegs. The set looks like comes with two patterns, a G1 Sideswipe and G1 Decepticon Symbol. The packaging is also very similar to the Transformers Classics style. View the image for yourself by clicking here.

Who the hell is going to buy these?
other than for 'Boston' jokes.

Interesting... a piece of fairly random TF merchandise that's branded with the Classics packaging design rather than the movie. I was going to comment on the picture of G1 Sideswipe - *everyone* seems to use pics of the G1 designs when they're actually referencing movie stuff - but then realised the whole thing was in the Classics style.

I'm quite surprised by that TBH, since Classics is apparently just a filler toyline before the movie stuff hits and I expected all the tie-in merchandise to be movie-based.

I am also suprised at the packaging. Like you I thought they would try to tie everything to the movie.

This just serves to remind me of how I used to mix up the Lite Brite song.

"Lite Brite! Lite Brite! Knights of the Magical Light!"

Didn't they have Transformer legos already, though they were based off the Armada line?

Yes they did. I am getting an Armada Starscream BTR Set soon. I htink it's cool. It's not lego lego...a sort of knockoff brand or some slag.

I may be showing my age here, but remember when Lite Brites and Legos were made for children to use their IMAGINATION? Damn. It's almost like having a puzzle with numbered pieces.

Lite Brites had patterns even when they first came out.

Cool that they have G1 designs, but I don't think I'll be buying a lite brite for this.
BTW they did do lite brite sets for Armada and energon I believe.

Merchandizing has no shame!

I still have mine from the late 70's ... I know my kid will get a kick out of this.

I found my G1 set of lite brite pages a few months ago in the basement. Not sure I want to use them, though...
