Also, a big product launch for a toyline in Japan means a new campaign with an exclusive repaint. For these toys, Takara is doing a promotion where they will give away a red clear repaint of the Firedrive target master figure, called "Burning Plasma Blaster", to customers who purchase 5,000 yen (tax included) or more of "Transformers Beast Awakening" related products in store.

I especially like the beast targetmasters.
The only thing that I don't like is that Cheetor who wear shorts in both mode. This look dumb.
Oh and those "one step" Bee and Nightbird are genius! Sure, the vehicle look damaged, but the bots are awesome for what they are.

I want it retooled (or at least give that transformation) to Terrorsaur. I really love the idea of having nice wings dissapear in robot mode, he needs that.

The beast Targetmasters are uniformly great. Too bad they're bundled into the kids-line figures (which is pretty good tbh, but not for myself) I'd get all of them if they're sold as Core price 2-packs.
And poor Scourge. He got the short end of the design stick, his whole lower-half is OP's.

Cheetor, Rhinox and the crocodile target master are sold individually at least.

Yeah, I can see it.

From our own Seibertronian, Ig89ninja, we have reports of the Beast Alliance Beast Combiners found at their local Target. Those include Bumblebee & Snarlsaber, Arcee & Silverfang and Optimus Primal & Skullcruncher, they are $21.99. We also have in hand images from TF Fan Sponge who found them at a Target in Texas and also provided the receipt with DCPI. We see through their images that the armours are interchangeable with the robots.
Ig89ninja also found the Target exclusive 3 pack that includes deluxe Nightbird, Cheetor and Wheeljack. So great news for fans of that design. That 3 pack is $59.99.
Lastly, the Optimus primal and Optimus Prime Beast Alliance Beast Weaponizers 2-Packs have come in from Amazon.com and been delievered to US fans. They were $14.94 and we have a review for Optimus Primal with Arrowstripe.

chuckdawg1999 wrote:Finally, we have some official, non-side-released, Rise of the Beasts toys to check out. Beast Combiner Optimus Primal with Skullcruncher is a fun toy, borrowing heavily from the Spark Armor concept from Cyberverse while bringing something new to the table. You really have to like the wink and a nod homage to the very first Beast Wars release from back in the day. While targeted towards younger fans, there's more than a little here for older fans as well.

Which means that on Target shelves, you will have deluxe class toys from the 3 packs that will also be on shelves sold individually at the same time. If anyone is curious as to why Target would get have the same items on shelves at the same time, it is most probably due to the film delays. While the individual deluxe releases (by that I mean the non SS deluxe Airazor, and the Wheeljack with glasses toy we've seen) were all scheduled for a 2022 release, Hasbro is only distributing them now. The Target exclusive 3 packs may have always been scheduled for 2023 (since 2022 still had a steady stream of Buzzworthy Bumblebee releases) and now everything is coming to shelves at the same time. There should be no difference between the decos. What is happening here is the same thing that happened with the Cyberverse deluxe 3 pack, except since that one was released as scheduled, the 3 pack was released after the individual releases.

So I wonder what the price of the individual ROTB deluxes will be and how much that 3 pack would cost at Toys R Us? That is, if they bother ordering the damn thing in the first place.

I've always believed that stores like Target and Walmart have less than desirable online experiences is because they don't want to diminish their brick and mortar sales.

It's strange though since this seems to be a problem unique to toys. Anything else sold in stores I can order online and pick up the same day, but for toys they seem to actively limit what you can buy. I've lost track of the number of times Target has had something listed as in stock at a local store and refused to let me add it for pickup or refused to let me do site to store. Walmart at least will leave most listings active even when they're sold out, but Target removes listings pretty regularly even when you know something is in stock in a local store. Frustrating.

Because toys are often destination purchases, meaning you only buy them when you have/want to and thus will bring you into the store and thus may lead you to buying something else from another department.

Same is true for media, but they have a full selection of games, movies and books on the site. If you go on Target and search Manga you'll find 26 pages, most of which are in stock and "not available in stores" despite having a fair selection in stores, too. If they can do that with media then they're just as capable of doing it with toys.

They could, but I think different items have different theories behind them. Remember, they still believe that kids drive toy sales, thus it's kids looking for toys that bring parents into the store and then hopefully they have the attitude of "While I'm here..." I don't think Manga has that pull. By the way, not that I really look, but I never see Manga at my Target.
