For some reason, Hasbro chose to only reveal half of the upcoming Studio Series wave, leaving out the Bayverse bots which are in the same wave as the SS 86 toys like Slag and Gnaw. Even to the point of keeping them a mystery on case packs from online vendors like Entertainment Earth. Well, these toys are coming soon, so whether they reveal them or not, we were going to see them. And it's happening now, with Grindor and Ravage. For those who need a recap, Grindor is the helicopter bot that fights Optimus in the forest along with Megatron and Starscream. While he was a different helicopter than Blackout, the helicopter mode is unchanged hear. We do get a different deco and, BEST PART, better articulation for the wrists. That was by far the biggest pet peeve with the previous release of this mold so I am glad it is addressed. And we get Ravage instead of Scorponok. We thank EvasionModeBumblebee for letting us know of these images which are actually form an E-Bay listing. That means you could purchase this toy right now. however, it coming from China, there is a chance they are found locally before receiving this international package.

Blackout is an excellent figure, one of my favorites. The only thing about that figure that bugs me are its weird hands, which Grindor fixes! I'd very much recommend getting Grindor.

Even more of a reason to finally get the mold.
Now, only the bare belly of the copter remain as my pet-peeves.

But as I looked for the positive side, I might actually get him if they fix the loose panels that are his shoulders and make everything properly click into place better.
I can't help but dream about how cool it would've been if they had upscaled this guy and released him as a SS Commander scale to match the proper movie scale, cause after rewatching ROTF yesterday, he is a freaking HUGE mofo, definitely worthy of the commander scale. He would need to be a bit shorter than the generations commanders, but with the added bulk and some upgraded hands/beefed up legs, that would be worth it for me all the way. But I do realize that's a dream upon dream upon dream of many things that will never be lol. One can dream.

Commander would also allow panels to cover up the copter underbelly. At this point, it would almost be a MPM.
I would like if SS could have a Commander. Maybe now that the Titans will take a break after the Ark, it may happen?

Exactly my thoughts. There were recently rumors of them starting 2 commanders per year to substitute titan classes. It would be a totally missed opportunity not to have the 2nd commander be for SS. with that being said, I’m concerned they’re too deep in to add that additional size class to SS. Most of the commander sized characters from the movie have already been made. Jetfire, grindor, grimlock, demolisher, etc. I would love to see them double down and remake the same characters in Commander scale, but I doubt it highly at this point.

Mindmaster wrote:Gee, he ain’t much different from Blackout is he? Aside from the new hands, dirtier paint job, the designation swap from the Air Force to the Marines, and Ravage. I mean really I only want it for Ravage so I may as well buy the old Hunt for the Decepticons Legends guy, hopefully at a decent price, and call it a day.
I actually have this Legends figure, its pretty great. Think it looks better than the Ravage included here, as well, so if you already have Blackout, makes sense to pick that up instead of getting this mold again.

The fun of what happens when even the script writer isn't sure of who you are when asked.

So this is an old topic, but I found this video on a whim when I dug out my arcee sisters, its not as stable as the other uglier combined mode, but I really dig it having done it myself, and leaves a lot of room for personal modification

Nice, it looks very accurate to the concept art!

Yeah, that's why I'm way more inclined this is close to what the combined mode was supposed to be originally even if it was dropped, only problem is that it can't actually stand up which is why the guy that made the video thinks the other one is more "official" since it can stand up better

Actually - yes.
I reviewed Studio Series Shockwave and Brawl.

I had a few of the Bayformers back in 2007 when it all started. But I sold most of them because I just didn't like them much. There are exceptions of course. Why, I purchased a Bayverse figure just recently that will be the subject of my first-ever kitbashing project....

Not sure what's going on because Hasbro isn't being clear, but it sounds like either all, most, or some of the FFF this month will be dedicated to G.I.Joe for Yo Joe June. Transformers Tuesdays have always been for Selects (and now Shattered Glass) so I'm not sure when they would do any SS reveals.

That would be VERY interesting to see.
I do have a thing for Frankenformers after all.

I honestly don't expect Hasbro to ever reveal them. They will just kind of show up like the Bumblebee line did. Since I don't think Hasbro has ever even mentioned that the line exists but it has been on shelves for months.

Starscream got a special unveiling by Ozformers' Facebook.o.supreme wrote:When did Hasbro officially reveal B-127, Dino, and Starscream? They revealed those deluxes Novenber last year

Grindor and Jolt will need to be revealed in some fashion soon because its ridiculous that sites like BBTS and EE have them on preorder as "mystery" figures.

o.supreme wrote:Ok, so I still have no evidence, but probably in July there will be a LOT of reveals. With June focusing on GIJoe, I'm expecting the only TF reveals I'm June to be SG Goldbug, and maybe one other selects on a random Tuesday. July should be quite TF focused, which will be nice. SDCC isn't happening, so there is a LOT to reveal in lieu of that.
In past years, SDCC was the weakest in terms of reveals. The biggest ones were always Toy Fair and NYCC since they usually coincide with product availability cycles. NYCC shows us the new line and Toy Fair shows us the rest of said line ( with the titan/commander and such).
What I'm wondering about is Cyberverse since they have a ton if new product coming. But since it's not aimed at collectors I wonder if they will even bother with a reveal or just release them at retail for parents to buy as was the case since day 1 with the media related toylines aimed at kids

There was a botcon in 2018 - 2020? Which I think more was what Will meant.

Well, the Fun Pub era was a big part of reveals in "past years".ZeroWolf wrote:Sabrblade wrote:What about BotCon?william-james88 wrote:In past years, SDCC was the weakest in terms of reveals. The biggest ones were always Toy Fair and NYCC

There's still a listing for a SDCC exclusive coming out, even with the event canceled ( like last years pit of judgement) . So there will be some sort of exclusive, probably at an event in July, along with SG Jetfire, probably Kingdom wave 4, and the remainder of SS for this year, hopefully.

The last Btocon was in 2016 after which FunPub lost the license.

I just assumed from the design teams current direction that all non 86 studio series were going to be revealed in stores.

Plus, if anything, this is a good way to do a minor retool: 3 years later, so it can feel fresh and new to people once again, and give people a sort of stopgag fill in who didn't get Blackout back then

Man was SS Blackout a shelfwarmer outside the UK? I remember never seeing the figure available anywhere (be it brick and mortar stores or online retailers) except for hugely jacked-up prices. I was always kinda bummed I couldn't get my hands on one. I'll probably snap up this guy now that I'm in the US.
For scale alone this figure is destined to be a better Blackout than Grindor, regardless of the minor paint changes.

I'm in the US, and definitely don't recall SS Blackout shelfwarming. Grimlock was usually selling out first, and was clearly the more popular leader of the wave, but Blackouts were usually gone a week or two later in my area.
Honestly, SS stuff has moved pretty quickly where I am, only stuff that stuck around a lot has been the Bumblebee subline at Targets (and that's a mix of stuff from various lines). Now Last Knight toys, THOSE were shelfwarming.

Sure didn't help that those Leaders came out shortly before most peoples' Walmarts stopped carrying Leaders so there was no way they'd shelf warm at other stores. They barely stayed in stock at Target, I got mine from Kmart.

I was in the exact opposite situation, where all the studio leaders were huge shelfwarmers at all the stores around me for ages
