Flame Toys [Furai Model] Shattered Glass Optimus Prime Attack Mode

THAT is frikkin gorgeous! So glad to see they are not afraid of the Shattered Glass kits. Ugh, love these things

Even though obtaining imported products has never been easier these days, some fans still like taking the car, driving around to stores and looking for items there. Well we have good news for them, the Flame Toys Transformers Optimus Prime Model Kit (IDW Version) is available at Barnes and Noble. The bookstore seems to be the main distributor of these kits in the US and continues to stock them as they are released, to a much later date though. We have an image below of this Optimus found in the store. You can also purchase the kit online at the Barnes and Noble website. The figure is $35.99 and features a ton of articulation, rifle, and a choice of six hands.

wasnt this news a couple weeks ago? I got mine 3 weeks ago. Maybe I’m thinking another site. Anywho yeah I got mine and he was a treat to make. Really looking forward to Megatron.

Also he’s way cheaper there! He’s $35 and I think most online stores have him for $40 and ya toss shipping in there over $50. Surprisingly something at Barnes and Noble is cheaper than other places.

Maybe another site. But this isnt really a sighting, its more to let fans know that they are there and that B&N are gonna keep carrying these.

So is B&N going to be carrying all of these kits? Because I'm looking forward that their Bumblebee; he's Action Masterrific.

I don’t recall the anime like Optimus but Starscream and IDW Optimus so far have been seen so if people buy them I’m sure they’ll keep ordering them.

I've seen the Attack Optimus kit as well as the others before. No repaints yet tho.

I finally finished assembling my IDW Prime kit, my first Gundam-style model building experience in almost two decades. I bought proper tools and even did some panel lining.

It was very fun, but like Lego it was more fun as an activity than as a product. I'm definitely going to get the IDW Megatron, and I hope to get the Starscream kit to repaint into Slipstream. I'm not sure if I have the skills to repaint, but I'm looking forward to the challenge, and it might be an interim step to custom decos on the Hasbro toys.

Some random notes on the product itself:

1. Glue is definitely recommended for some parts. I'm not planning to pose it too much, but one of his helmet antennae is very loose, and there are other places where glue would help.

2. The stickers detract overall. I used them because there are several places where silver stripes are a major part of the design, but they're too visually loud. This annoys me in part because I spent time trying to make the panels pop and add weathering, but all I can see when I look at it are those stickers.

3. It is a nice companion to the comics. I like the representation, and while transformations are always a nice touch, they're less important in the context of comics than in other media. I'd rather have this than the Legends (Legion?) scale Optimus that has a similar design, and like others, I'm hopeful for Megatron and other comics-inspired characters.

I'll share pictures if I get around to taking them.

The first is news about the new Flame Toys Thundercracker Model kit, which has been anticipated for quite some time. Now, thanks to this post on Facebook, we have an in hand image of the box, which features a lovely piece of artwork on the cover.





In addition to the above, yours truly has discovered that Flame Toys intends on releasing a Nemesis Prime version of the IDW Optimus Prime model kit as well. This was revealed on RobotKingdom, where it is up for preorder right now. We have mirrored a few images for your convenience.

I feel like Flame Toys themselves have been enjoying these secret Prime repaint reveals. That's 2 in a month with no hints at it prior to the RK pre-orders, and I follow them really closely.

A Tarn model kit that's the price and size of these model kits would be amazing!

I'm glad I skipped the standard release of Optimus, and I'm liking the Autobot sigils that are included!

I have the regular colored version sitting right here waiting to be assembled. He looks nice! But he should have not guys! We are getting a SG one, and we can get a SG one of this design too! But use the symbols!

If I'm being honest he wouldn't have those Autobot or Decepticon sigils. Combatrons all the way!!

Fellow Seibertronians, oh my, do we have a feast for your eyes! The new snap together Furai model kit of Bumblebee have shown up on line and to say the figure looks impressive would be an understatement. Do you like G1 Bumblebee best? It’s got that. Do you like Action Master Bumblebee’s helicopter backpack? It’s got that. Do you like a dollop of IDW flavor? It’s got that. Did you like his WWII hammer from The Last Knight? It’s got that! While retaining Bumblebee’s humble size and stance this figure none the less beefs out at the shoulders with a nice set of wheels, giving him a bold heroic frame and profile. Even his hands seem ready to reach down and pull Spike out of danger from the first season of the cartoon. His iconic horns are present but in a slightly more pronounced curve than we normally see in a Bumblebee figure. Unfortunately his Warhammer is not shown but it is pictured in the box art. All pieces are molded in his classic colors and for an unpainted snap together model he really pops.
