william-james88 wrote:Even though obtaining imported products has never been easier these days, some fans still like taking the car, driving around to stores and looking for items there. Well we have good news for them, the Flame Toys Transformers Optimus Prime Model Kit (IDW Version) is available at Barnes and Noble. The bookstore seems to be the main distributor of these kits in the US and continues to stock them as they are released, to a much later date though. We have an image below of this Optimus found in the store. You can also purchase the kit online at the Barnes and Noble website. The figure is $35.99 and features a ton of articulation, rifle, and a choice of six hands.
Sorry Will for not posting earlier, but I found both the IDW Prime and Starscream model kits at Barnes and Noble last week

Also he’s way cheaper there! He’s $35 and I think most online stores have him for $40 and ya toss shipping in there over $50. Surprisingly something at Barnes and Noble is cheaper than other places.

Maybe another site. But this isnt really a sighting, its more to let fans know that they are there and that B&N are gonna keep carrying these.

I don’t recall the anime like Optimus but Starscream and IDW Optimus so far have been seen so if people buy them I’m sure they’ll keep ordering them.

I've seen the Attack Optimus kit as well as the others before. No repaints yet tho.

It was very fun, but like Lego it was more fun as an activity than as a product. I'm definitely going to get the IDW Megatron, and I hope to get the Starscream kit to repaint into Slipstream. I'm not sure if I have the skills to repaint, but I'm looking forward to the challenge, and it might be an interim step to custom decos on the Hasbro toys.
Some random notes on the product itself:
1. Glue is definitely recommended for some parts. I'm not planning to pose it too much, but one of his helmet antennae is very loose, and there are other places where glue would help.
2. The stickers detract overall. I used them because there are several places where silver stripes are a major part of the design, but they're too visually loud. This annoys me in part because I spent time trying to make the panels pop and add weathering, but all I can see when I look at it are those stickers.
3. It is a nice companion to the comics. I like the representation, and while transformations are always a nice touch, they're less important in the context of comics than in other media. I'd rather have this than the Legends (Legion?) scale Optimus that has a similar design, and like others, I'm hopeful for Megatron and other comics-inspired characters.
I'll share pictures if I get around to taking them.

I had no idea they were making a Nemesis Prime version of the IDW Prime model kit. Looks badass though

In addition to the above, yours truly has discovered that Flame Toys intends on releasing a Nemesis Prime version of the IDW Optimus Prime model kit as well. This was revealed on RobotKingdom, where it is up for preorder right now. We have mirrored a few images for your convenience.
Will you be picking up this version as well as the regular Optimus Prime, or will you be skipping Optimus entirely for this one? Tell us in the comments below!

This is the only official channel we have to see some of our favorite comic Transformers in plastic form. I'd love a Tarn kit. I know they have the large figure, but that's out of my price range.
A Tarn model kit that's the price and size of these model kits would be amazing!

But Classics it was more of a winged backpack right? See I had Action Master Bumblebee and never got Classics I should have known better. The color's right, and the chopper blades even have those same notches in them like Action Master Bumblebee.
Thanks dude! Or dudette...I mean either way, we coo

On a few sales descriptions.
More importantly, It resembles said action master accessory.
Much like the hammer is reminiscent of weaponry that Movie Bumblebee used (And is referenced nowhere too).
It is a clever idea to release a non transforming Bumblebee with a similar accessory to the old 80's non transforming toy.
Anyway, if it's all about what's written, where did you see it written that it is not a homage to the action master figure?

Hey guys, it's just a joke. Yes, the person who wrote the article said "Classics" when it should have said "action master", Randomhero helped point it out so I went and changed it. And I then made a joke as if nothing had ever happened and it was right all along, with the whistling emoji.
In the end, it doesnt really matter. I thank everyone, the person who wrote the article and the one who pointed out the better comparison.

The chopper backpack is also so cool, and I didn't know until just now that it was from the Action master. That is pretty rad and fitting.
Man, he, Thundercracker, and IDW Megs are all coming out together, lots of kits set to come.

Super excited for the upcoming kits, we have 3 getting ready to hit this month, including Bee, IDW Autobot Megs, and Thundercracker. I really enjoy the kits

00Stargrave00 wrote:Yeah how sturdy are they - I mean knowing it’s a model of course I’m not going to throw it off buildings but does it stay together pretty well? And how much did it set you back?
the kits all run around $40-$50 a piece. they are sturdier than the Gundam kits I've built, there are a few parts that might require some glue, but they will move around wherever you want them to and hold up

I would highly recommend the Attack Mode Prime, I think he's a fantastic kit, or I would buy the Bumblebee coming out this month, he looks incredible.
And my bots have to guard those books, I spent waaaaaaaaaaaaay too much on those in college!

The new IDW Megatron looks boss, and so do most of the other kits. Except...
That G1 Prime is just really bland. It looks like it was made of Playdoh, and is just really boring to look at. There is no detail whatsoever. I do not like it.
Found these on TFW2005, where you can find more pictures

Codpiece Prime?
Seriously, every single one of their models has Massively Massive Crotch Syndrome. It's vaguely disturbing. I'd love to see a psychologist analysis of these products.
Posted by D-Maximal_Primal on June 9th, 2019 @ 8:21pm CDT
And that G1 prime is as bland as I thought it would be. The "Attack" mode and "IDW" ones are far superior

These officially licensed models are made from ultra thin laser-cut sheet metal pieces assembling into a larger metal object 11-18cm long. You know, basically knives.
Using a simple tab-into-slot assembly process these models assemble with no glue, but do require a wealth of patience.
From this staffer's personal experience all you need is a little determination, an electron microscope, a pair of Doctor Octopus assistance arms, a few adhesive medical strips (for yourself) and you too can find the joy of juggling small knives until they somehow assemble into awesome looking metal masterpieces.
There is no current information on their suggested retailer price or their release date, but the release wave will feature the following live-action characters in their vehicle forms:
Ironhide as a GMC Topkick 4500 truck from Transformers 2007.
Sentinel Prime as a Rosenhauer Panther Firetruck from Dark Of The Moon.
Bumblebee in his Chevrolet Camaro Concept from 2017's The Last Knight.
Hound as a Mercedes Unimog tactical vehicle also from The Last Knight.
Hot Rod in his Lamborghini Centenario body from The Last Knight.
And Optimus Prime as a Peterbilt 379 Truck from Transformers 2007.
Check out the images below and share your own tales of woe (or joy) when assembling these mini metal models.
