Did Gm score a massive deal here or what? I always presumed that they paid Paramount some money (in addition to lending them the cars and technicians etc) so Paramount would feature their cars.
Now I have found out they did not actually pay Paramount any money... wow, a 2 hour advertisement across thousands of cinema's worldwide for nothing (technically nothing, they only lent them about $1 million worth of stuff).

That would be a good thing, in my opinion. Support American goods!
(sorry folks in other countries... gotta support the home economy...)

thats why there is a mustang too. its not an exclusive deal. I love my country, but every GM car I have ever owned was a piece of crap.My first car was a Barretta (sp?) the gas pedal used to stick and the interior fell apart completely. I had a '97 Z28 that pretty much the electronics stoped working a year after I bought it. had an S10 that tried to kill me on several ocations by just turning off for no reason! on the Highway no less. The dealership couldn't figure it out. Must a been a decepticon. Anyways got a Ford Mustang GT I still have it, all I have done to it so far is change the oil, sparkplugs, and tires never had any problems. VWs have been great cars for me too, I guess GM Cars just hate me

I just wish they wouldn't label the film a "two-hour long advertisement."

Well its not really for free, considering the cost of the cars used for the movies, the advertisement alone is a huge bill, I'd assume if they paid paramount that the advertising is something that would fall back on paramount vs the car company itself, so It was a sweet deal but in my point of View GM got half off..
