Here's hoping its not some fake out like with Superman!
When heros fade away, I think they should just stay faded and become the legend thay deserve to be.
Optimus Prime, Superman, Jesus, now the good Captian...
...the return is just never the same.

Here's my summation (SPOILERS!)
Optimus and Megatron cooperatively rule Cybertron together. Megatron betrays Optimus and makes a move to steal Castle Grayskull the Cosmic Key the Mystical Magic Cube that gave life to the Cybertronians which they all worship like the Monolith in 2001: A Space Odyssey.
Megatron and the Neo Arcadian soldiers from the Mega Man Zero series his drones are looking for the magic cube. Bumblebee and Arcee try to hold them off one one front while Optimus carries out his masterplan on another. Megatron ties Arcee and Bumblebee up all kinky-like and then beats the crap out of Bumblebee. Megatron sees the magic cube shot into space in the distance, points-out how retarded that was since his alt mode is a space jet, and flies off to catch it.
Bumblebee says he's mute from the beating he got and is going after Megatron in the form of a flying ball with wheels and headlights.
The end.

Darth Bombshell wrote:Try telling that to the guy that owns the comic shop near where I live. I used to get all my stuff there, except during the last four months of last year, when I had to get Stormbringer #2-4, along with the Nightbeat, Hot Rod, Sixshot and Ultra Magnus Spotlights from a store in Vancouver. It was only last month that I found a shop closer to home (and is actually about twenty minutes from the college) where I'm going to be going from now on, since they have the comics there (well, except for Generations, but seeing as how I've already cut that from my budget...). Yeah, they're a bit more expensive there than at the Vancouver store, but at least I don't have to take a four hour trip both ways.
What did the guy say at the shop near where you live? Did he say "no, i won't get you any of the Transformers books"? Given how shitty the comic book industry is of late, it just seems like he would be happy to get someting in for you so that he can make some more money. Does he have a club that you can join where he'll hold your books for you that come in weekly?

Either way, a great read and really hands us a foundation heading into the movie premier. Oh I just can't wait!

MAC Prime wrote:It was the final piece of the puzzle to completely sell me on the new movie designs of original characters. Its even sold me on Megatron which was a hard sell and now if they give me Starscream in these comics, they finally sell me on him too.

I think it's really great that they're doing this. It certainly helps flesh out the overall story for people like us. The only thing I didn't really care for was the "Simfur" city, but what the hell ... Furman deserves a little nod just like some of the big sites used to get back in the day with the Dreamwave comics in some of the artwork.

The whole "Allspark" thing is pretty reminiscent of the Underbase Saga(also written by Simon Furman), but it's still an interesting take on the Transformers Mythos. Can't wait until the next issue!

Direct from e-mail:
Ryall wrote:We originally had Arcee with some pink highlights, but were told all the TFs on Cybertron needed to be monochromatic metal colors only. "Simfur" was my little nod to Simon,
We get that you'd prefer to see Furman as an egotist writing himself into the story, but sadly the facts here conflict with the petty assumption jumped to.
Yeah, but Simon must have known.
But you know what? The guy freakin deserves this kind of nod. I mean, how integral has he been for TF comics over the years?
Simfur it is, damn it.

Grimshock wrote:Oh, and I still think Denyer's argument of me believing Ryall and Furman are the same person was completely moronic.
Rub some of this into your hands and it'll take off the worst of the warty green texture; if you don't get when you're being played by this point, you never will.
Watching someone argue that one of two co-writers definitely wrote something to buff his own ego when you've been told otherwise by the main writer, a subsequent interview and basic common sense is hilarious.

Comics are suppose to have different characters aren't they? Aside from Megatron it was hard to identify any of them because they all looked virtually the same!
Cybertron is now populated by generic looking robots and only the big wigs look different?
1 issue down ... 3 to go. It had want to get better.

It was an okay issue. It wasn't as bad as anything DW did, praise be. The movie designs do lack a cedrtain charm, though, and Arcee reminded me of BM Rattrap.
Whiskey!
