Question - Is the SDMini Card included?
We heard reports that it wasn't but I saw pictures with of a SD card with a Decepticon logo on it.

The miniSD card is NOT included. I bought mine separately that see used in the Music Label Soundwave galleries.

Thanks for the pictures Ryan.

From everything I've read no its not included but you know what that sounds like a cool Repo label to make, something that fits on a miniSD card with either the Autobot or Decepticon logos, perhaps some other graphics to make it look like a tape, or key or something. Definately would be cool.

Blaster is the orange Autobot Tape Player, you are thinking of Soundblaster, which is the black Soundwave repaint.

Damn! Yeah, i was thinking of Soundblaster. Blaster was the black radio guy.
That would actually be pretty cool. A little retooling and you've got a nice looking mp3 playing Blaster.

where as the controls (or lack there of) doesn't bother me, but if it doesn't sound good, i'm not interseted. and i understand mp3 coding and kb's.. if you put a decently encoded mp3 file, does it sound as good as say the ipod or psp sounds with the same file?

Who says Soundwave is uncrasimatic?
Hmm, I just realized the card I have is SD, not mini. Doh!

It sounded great to me. I listened to the opposite Soundwave of what I was taking a photogallery of. I probably listened to around 20 songs or so while I was doing the photos. Using the same Sony earbuds that I use with my Dell laptop, it sounded just fine. In fact, I was surprised that it sounded just as good as my laptop.
The Frenzy/Rumble headphones are crap though (I did listen to a song with those on). I didn't try to use the headphones that came with Soundwave. I imagine those are crap as well. I'll use my $40 Sony earbuds that I absolutely love.
If I could figure out how to make the songs play in a random order, I would actually use Soundwave as an actual player. Unfortunately, he doesn't appear to have this option. I keep hoping that someone will discover a button pattern that you can press to get the songs to play randomly.

Nothing in the manual along those lines.

Of course, they said at one point that MP-03 Starscream wouldn't come to the U.S. either

I still think the alt mode looks a little bland, but that's nothing that Reprolabels won't be able to fix.

I did.
I went out and got a pair of 1 watt x 2 powered Sony portable speakers.
Then I copied a bunch of Soundwave clips and TF related songs (Stan Bush, etc...) to the 512MB mini SD card I got today.
The sound quality is ok. Nothing great, even a little "tinny" sounding. That could be the speakers though. The earbuds sound a bit fuller.
If you are looking for an MP3 player, get an iPod or something else. Other types are slimmer, can store more music, sound better, and are cheaper to replace.
If you want an amazing (Classic) Soundwave that plays music and audio clips (like Laserbeak...Rumble... Ravage, eject eject eject!) then look no further than Music Label Soundwave.
I am very please with mine. Very pleased.
Total cost:
figure: $85
shipping: $10
mini 512 mb sdcard $15 (1 gb were about $35 but 512 was enough for my needs)
external speakers $30
The awesomeness that is Music Soundwave - priceless.

(and the speakers, external power supply, were probably one of the reason my battery lived for 18 hours.)
It took a little bit of fiddeling around to find the perfect cross between Soundwave's volume setting and the speakers' volume setting.
I think if had plugged him into my old Walkman speakers, he'd have sounded tinny, too, because those sound tinny per default.

Where did you find the SW TF audio files? Those would be cool to throw on in between songs and such.

So far, after 8 months, my wife still hasn't found a way to make her more expensive Samsung shuffle either, so I think I could deal if that's the only major complaint you have so far.
