Perhaps you could see it coming a mile away. With Hasbro's recent release of Generations Thrust, a Generations Dirge figure was bound to be around the corner sooner or later. Dirge is likely to be a repaint of his Henkei Version, much like Generations Thrust is a repaint of his Henkei counterpart. Alt.toys.transformers reveals more Transformers from Wal*Mart computers - With the rest of the similarities with other upcoming toys, it can be assumed that the new ones are legit. great one more thing making us games of deception owners look like chumps for paying 300 for 60 worth of figures... i could tolerate the japanese releases, but seriously how long before they make a thundercracker too?

Not very we hope. This was a super no-brainer from the start, all you need is just a little patience...

Maybe it will look somewhat different like Thrust. I'll probably buy it.

Wouldn't a G2 Action Masters Thundercracker in Generations be cool?

Nearer and nearer to a full set of seekers/coneheads for my classics shelf. Kind of a shame that I'll finish the coneheads first, though.

So, after the long drought that was RotF ... the game begins again.

Really glad they're releasing these. I guess I feel kinda bad for the Botconners, but ... they still have an exclucive TF. Like any Lucky Draw or Gentei.

I'm also glad I picked up Thrust waaaaaaay back in the day. I almost didn't.

Now we just need Thundercracker ... and SUNSTORM! Yeah, I like Sunstorm better than Thundercracker.

Thundercracker, I think not. We're getting Generations Thrust. Dirge and Red Alert, but those are Henkei molds that Hasbro is trying to cash in on. I'd actually be surprised if Hasbro pulls out the Cracker.

Awesome news, can't wait for Blurr either. I also don't feel bad for people who got the Henkei or Botcon figures because I am sure they got the enjoyment they were looking for in those figures. This is great for the collecting community as a whole. We really need thundercracker now.

COMBNTN PROTECTOBOT (UPC 6-53569-51662)
COMBINATN STUNTICON (UPC 6-53569-51663)

Interesting.. They will be the like the other ones, main bot transforms and the appendages are drones.

It would be nice if they were like old school gestalts where all the limbs transformed.

as stated in this post...again I was right!!!
http://www.seibertron.com/energonpub/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=66259#p1084281

Using Henkei Dirge is fine. As for TC, the only differences between the Henkei and GoD version is paint apps. I have Henkei SS/TC, Classics Skywarp, Universe SS and Acid Storm (rainmaker). All I need now is Henkei Ramjet and the Generations Seekers and I'll be done. Though I may splurge for GoD TC because my Henkei TC sucks with mold problems.

And in regards to the TC situation, it's a wait and see type thing. Even though I don't have GoD TC, if I owned one I would be pretty pissed if a $10 version came out.

Isn't Red Alert just the same mold as Sideswipe? He even has Universe Prowl's lights and not Henkei Red Alert's lights.

I dunno, I'm choosing to have hope for Thundercracker.

Agree too...

But wasn't there a post of what the Stunticons would look like around here a few weeks ago?

Despite the fact the limbs don't change, I may get all of them for collection purposes. They aren't bad looking and kinda remind me of some of the Brave Transformer combinations though out those series.

Well supposedly the Botcon cone heads won't go down in value because, they are different molds (Wasn't Botcon Dirge just a repaint of ramjet?) but in the case of Thundercracker, i cannot see them getting away with that.

But i did notice the Botcon Thundercracker was very G1 accurate for Paint Job, much like the universe (classics 2.0) Starscream. So if they do re-issue Thundercracker, i hope they give him a stylized paint job, similar to the original classics (1.0) Starscream the mold is from.

This was we can still get our complete set of seekers, but the Botcon one still retains some value.

Dirge has remolded wings for Henkei version I believe.

Yeah I see no issue with Dirge at all if Hasbro uses the Takara mold.

In reference to Thundercracker, could we not get a G1 toy accurate version? I'd live with the darker blue and like generalstratton said, maybe give a more stylized or updated paint job. Here's a comparison picture of Botcon next to g1:

It'd be a real shame that I have 2 versions of Starscream and Acid Storm, but no Thundercracker for my seakers. (And that doesn't even count the other repaints of other planes...)

And yeah for Dirge! I like the Henkei Wings better, I m loving hasbro for bringing these molds over. It really is a no brainer, since the Dirge and Thrust molds were already made, they just have to pay a little to Takomy to use them, much cheaper than making new molds for Generations.

Much the way Takomy was using them from Hasbro for Henkei and TFA!!!

Ok, woot for Dirge. Really want Dirge. Also praying for a Ramjet, as I never got the Classics release. When I first saw Soundwave, I was like "HUH???" but then I remembered we already got the news for it, so then I was like "Oh, yeah, forgot about that". Darkmount, definitely bought, can't wait to see first pics of Blurr, Drift, bought, RPMs, meh, could care less for them, the Protectobots and Stunticons I want to see pics of them, or have we, just that I never got to them? So, basically, all this shortened in one sentence... All of them except most of the ROTF, Scouts, and Legends are bought for me. Definitely. =P~ =P~ =P~ :BANG_HEAD: :BOOM:

Although we may not see a DELUXE 'Cracker, there's a 99.9% chance that they'll pull off a MASTERPIECE pack of 'Crackers. I mean, look at Starscream and Skywarp (and if my prediction is right, Thundercracker). Both had a little touch of crappy into them, but Hasbro put the band-aid on it by releasing Masterpiece exclusives. So in the end, expect a Masterpiece 'Cracker in a Wal-Mart/Target/Toys R Us/K-Mart-any-retail-that-sells-almost-anything near you.

On Thundercracker ...

If Botcon really stopped everything to do with a blue Seeker, then it'd stop the Gentei release.

I wouldn't mind seeing a daker blue on him. Different wing decos. I mean, two out of three Seekers have already been done so the damage such as it is, has already occurred.

I dunno ... give him different blasters. Whatever it takes to release the guy. But, personally, I want SUNSTORM more! That chromed Kold guy will only go so far.

Universe Piranacon?

Screw Generations Thundercracker - I want Decepticon Warrior (the lilac jet) and Sunstorm. ;)

Well it's nice to see Dirge will be available to the people who either missed or couldn't afford the other two versions of Dirge.

This is a downer seems we only have two new molds so far for the Generations line and we're already getting into wave 4 I think (I know the WFC figures are new molds but they don't really fit into the classics line for me) and the rest are just repaints. I really hope they show some good stuff off at Botcon for the classics line.

The more I hear about the Generations line, the more excited I get. Haven't been this pumped for a line in a while. Even the PCC's are starting to grow on me. Bring on all these awesome toys! I miss being excited about heading back to the toy department at Wal-Mart. I can' tell you how long its been that I've gloomly walked back with no hopes at all only to find 35 Tuner Mudflaps (seriously they have NOTHING else), some Bumblebee helmets and a bunch of Fast Action Battlers. It has been MONTHS. So let's get these toys out on shelves so they can be on mine!

If people are so set on getting a Thundercracker AND still keeping the GoD set unique, why not have a "anime/cartoon coloration" version? Make him powder blue instead of navy. Easy fix to make the resulting figure notably different from the BotCon version, while having a major character available to the masses.

I actually prefer Hasbro's Ramjet and Thrust to the Takara versions, so I'll probably like this one too. But having already payed crazy money for Henkei Thrust and Dirge I'll probably give them a miss. Shame.

I'm really hoping this isn't what Hasbro meant when they said they'd be returning to the Classics line in 2010. Dirge, Thrust and Red Alert; three remolds of the most used figures in the series. And Darkmount/Straxus and Drift; characters who have never before had a figure, so can they claim to be recapturing the magic of the 80s which was why the Classics line was spawned. Don't get me wrong, they're all great figures (I've got Darkmount and Drift on pre-order), I just hope these five are not IT for 2010.

Well, they said that Generations is going to be an ongoing line, so hopefully the profits from these 6) new molds (counting WFC Prime, BB, Megs, and Soundwave) and the cheaper to make repaints, will give us some other new molds in the future. At least we are getting new molds, not like the original Universe line which was strictly repaints.

Good to get confirmation on Blurr.

I know the PCC are figures with drones but how big are the 'Commanders'? Deluxe size? (And how big are they in combined mode?)

Here's hoping the Stunticons and Protectorbots are faithful to their G1 selves. Maybe FansProject will do upgrade kits to make them comparable to the upgraded Energon combiners.

Based on the pictures (I spend a lot on Transformers, but have not purchased the Botcon set so I cannot say for sure) it looks like the Botcon set is more of a powder blue. It's why I suggested going darker blue to match closer to the G1 toy.

With TF3 and the new Cartoon, Prime I'm pretty sure the Generations line is just a placeholder. Something to get us to Christmas. I'm not expecting much except, perhaps, some more toys from the War for Cybertron game.

Which makes me wonder. Any possibility that Dirge is actually a WfC mold and not Classics? We should see a Starscream first, correct?

Yeah, i think this is still great news. The guys that purchased the GoD set, yeah you paid 300 dollars, but you have had the set for FOUR long years now. That is four years I've got to look at pictures of him and follow 80-100 dollar henkei Dirges on eBay. This shouldn't dampen the value at all. Now the general community can pick up a classics style Dirge, but it is still only a Generations toy, not a Botcon exclusive.

Exactly. Every time I go see the transformers section at stores I just get depressed. Can't wait til the new toys hit the shelves.

Easy fix to make the resulting figure notably different from the BotCon version, while having a major character available to the masses.

Based on the pictures (I spend a lot on Transformers, but have not purchased the Botcon set so I cannot say for sure) it looks like the Botcon set is more of a powder blue. It's why I suggested going darker blue to match closer to the G1 toy.

At least we are getting new molds, not like the original Universe line which was strictly repaints.

Hasbro said Generations would be on-going and NOT a placeholder/filler line.

I agree with this. I purchased the Botcon set, and while I will admit I was initially upset by the Takara releases I do acknowledge that I got to enjoy these figures for years before others which still makes them worth the the $279.00 I paid for the Iacon set. It will however reduce to value of the Botcon figures and the Henkei figures for that matter. They didn't skyrocket in price because they were Botcon exclusives, they skyrocketed because they were Classics representations of characters fans wanted. Anytime a new cheaper alternative comes along it can't help but reduce the demand and thus the value of those who came before them. If I didn't already have these figures and I was in the market for them I wouldn't pay a higher price just to get the Botcon version, in fact I wouldn't give two sh*ts about the Botcon versions at this point. I do plan on getting Generations Dirge for the remolded wings even though I already have Botcon Dirge. Actually Botcon Dirge will probably go into storage now.

No, there is no such thing as WFC Dirge as of yet.

Thundercracker, I think not. We're getting Generations Thrust. Dirge and Red Alert, but those are Henkei molds that Hasbro is trying to cash in on. I'd actually be surprised if Hasbro pulls out the Cracker.

Ah, a heated seeker thread...this seems soooo 2008 to me.

Actually, if you went to BotCon that year you paid $279. That set is worth a LOT more now and will still be worth a lot more than $279 even if they do make a Thundercracker.

And speaking on that topic, I have to disagree with my little blue friend. I wouldn't say it's a "sure thing" but I think the chances are high we will see a mass release Thundercracker and probably another Skywarp. Back at BotCon 08 myself and a few other Seibertronians actually spoke to someone with FunPub about this off the record and he pretty much said that Fun Pub would be powerless to stop mass releases of the seekers in the US.

As much as Classics has been on-going, anyway. They're all filler lines until the next line comes out. As long as they sell well, whatever name they apply, Hasbro will still produce a "Classics" line of some sort.

The War for Cybertron and Power Core Combiners appear to be what we have for now. We'll see if Hasbro still calls the line "Generations" in a year and a half when TF3 comes out.

Agreed. The value of these figures will inevitably go down with the mass generations release but as much as i hate to admit, I don't plan on selling off my TF's. Sentimental value>retail value

Dudes, I have a secret fear of Tuner Mudflap. Why? Because the other day, that's the only thing I saw. Mudflap as far as the eye could see. I'm scared that they're going to come alive and take over the world, there so many of them in the stores. I mean, not only do they have a not that good mold, but they don't have a good paint job either. It bothers me every time I go into Toys R US or Wal-Mart. Scary as hell, man... :HEADHURTS: :HALUC:

Why are we all so excited by Dirge for gods sake? We've seen him - we know pretty much what he'll look like. Blurr, on the other hand is getting a remold from Drift - that is exciting. ;)

Dirge is more exciting because it has been 3 years in the making. (for general retail) Alot of red tape and politics has finally been flushed to give everyone a fair chance to own Dirge and Thrust.

As far as Blurr, Im not too excited because the Drift mold really doesnt fit him. Even with a head resculpt. Blurr is supposed to be a futuristic car similar to Arcee. The drift mold turns into a car that pretty much looks like your average import racer. That kind of takes away from the whole concept, kind of like if G1 Arcee turned into a Honda.
