looks like a bloated up deluxe toy, so no go on Soundwave. I need a Soundblaster though, and Buzzsaw needs some love so I may pick up that one, but still unimpressive all things considered.
And yeah, what's up with the Convoy Rifle?

Oh they did.

Soundwave was not displayed with a laser rifle at Botcon and yes this is some random prime rifle more than likely FOC Prime. I think they are the best rendetion of Soundwave to date..........until Acustic Wave is released then after that Takara MP Soundwave...but in the meantime this would hold me over until a true MP version. You can fit these two dudes in anywhere!!!!!!!!!!!

But, um... why he he holding Optimus Prime's Ion Blaster/Laser Rifle?

Don't forget to pop in a Hurricanger one as well.
I like them, I have the deluxe but I will buy both of these & any subsequent disc animals, I mean data-bots that they put out.

I wasn't thinking it, but since you said it I can see where you're coming from.

not to mention the realism inherent to the transformers world.
juat gimme ill buy his as well.

Provided they don't bump the price like the Generations deluxes, right.

Advertised prices on the tags at Botcon said $15 for deluxes.

Trikeboy wrote:Where is the awesome with these? All I am seeing is an upscaled and slightly remolded knock off. I do like Laserbeak and Buzzsaw though.
You sir clearly havent seen a real knock-off. A real knock-off looks 100 times worse than this guy looks. Trust me...In Asian region there's ALOT of knock-offs. And no I am not talking about 90% replica of a transformers kind of knock off. I am talking about knock-offs that looks 10-20% of a transformers kind. Trust me it looks horrible. Even if you have a billion dollars, you wouldnt even think of buying them. That's how horrible a REAL knock-off looks.
So yeah...Hate to offend a senior forumer but please dont use the word "Knock-off" lightly. I absolutely despise people who compare HasTak's product to those of knock-offs.

I'm definitely getting it, but now that I see how his minions are stored, I'm a little disappointed.

I'm wondering if Soundblaster will be a store exclusive?
I'm eff'n dying to see who else is going to be in the Generations Voyager Class!

Down_Shift wrote:Why in the Black & Blue hell do they have G1 Primes gun? Also, that disk gimmick looks pretty lame, but I do like how it's spring loaded for the disks to pop out and transform.

I remember a few years back (at least 2010-2011), there was some Q&A and one of the questions was were there going to be any Generations (or maybe that was Universe?) Voyagers, and the answer was that Hasbro's been talking about bringing in a Voyager Soundwave.... and a Voyager BW Rhinox. We got the Soundwave, does that mean the premonition of a Rhinox is about to come to fruition?

He can, those mini-discs are thinner than they look and will fit well into his chest.

I would also assume that it slides back, and probably be spring-loaded.

And the Award goes to yours truly!
That raises my hope on Soundwave. As long as he can store at least three, I'll be fine.

I'm picturing it working basically like:RAcast wrote:Mkall wrote:Mindmaster wrote:What happened to "He can store up to three minions"?

-You press the button(or get your Soundwave/blaster to)
-Chest opens, one disk pops out
-The button mechanism is spring-loaded, so it snaps back after one disk launches
-Other disks are prevented from launching, though the door manually closes

...maybe I'll pick up the Soundblaster deco.
Don't suppose the "buttons/fangs" can point outwards? Or that the discs can store in the Deluxe?

I think the minions have a spring-loaded self transforming thing that triggers when you eject them from his chest. I assume its easier to make that work with disks than cassettes.

ah, you must be new. Welcome to the 21st Century. Here, we store our digital media on CDs and DVDs...
Now, what I want to know is why they couldn't design the little giuys to turn into SD cards... Funny how we get an updated Soundwave and his minions are still a decade out of modern technology.
I'm glad to see Soundblaster. I seem to be the only whack here who like Prime Soundwave. The idea of an intellegence officer and spy turning into a spy plane with conspiracy theories tied to it is just too perfect for me. Add in Generations R&F as tanks, who are nowadays usually guided by intell from Predator spy planes, and Soundwave is in a wonderful position. I may get Soundblaster though, and I like the minioncons, though whether they trump Galaxy Force Blaster (also a plane) I haven;t decided...

You have to take into account the younger fans who have never seen an audio cassette before whereas everyone knows what a CD/DVD/Game disc is. Also the minions strongly resemble thicker versions of the Data Disks that were on Cybertron as mentioned in the Beast Wars series so that may also be one connection that the designers were trying to utilize.
