Transformers - Die Rückkehr or Transformers The Return.
According to the German website, this news implies that the character "The Fallen" will not appear in the sequel and that it most likely means a character will return from the original film. This information comes courtesy of Filmstarts.de, which is stated to be the most reliable movie news source in Europe.
Film writers for ROTF have already stated that "The Fallen" may not be in the film, but no confirmed reports have been released to date. This new information could add fuel to the rumor that it is actually Megatron who will make his return for the second film.

Why would they so blatantly call out an obscure villain for the sequel who has no bearing on the first film?
It was such a deliberate ploy to rouse the fanbase... given only diehard fans even knew The Fallen was a character; I certainly didn't.
To me this is a good thing.

So the news is only "Transformers: The Return" is the translation of the German title. The analysis proclaiming that this denies the existence of "The Fallen" in the T2 is just speculation.
Quick survey of my German dictionaries (I don't speak, just have a weak reading knowledge) says in addition to "The Return" Die Rückkehr can also mean something akin to "comeback" and maybe someone else can confirm whether "resurrection" is an apt synonym too. Anyway, it seems the word may imply a recovery from a fallen position. Yes, that could be Megs, it could be The Fallen, or it could be the Transformers themselves. I mean, a race of beings who can no longer reproduce or rebuild their world, etc., due to the loss of the Allspark, could pretty much be thought of as a fallen position.
Something strikes back. It's a sequel, that's pretty much a given. But really, we're all still just speculating. I mean if it turns out the Japanese title translates into "Transformers: GO AGAIN GO!" are we going to infer the Go-Bots are the main adversary? ne?

Sometimes it seems like they've shot all the human-based film, and they'll make up the story during the CGI process.
I know, I know... that's not the case, but it just feels like it is sometimes.

Point wrote:Come on, anyone that thinks The Fallen is gonna be in this movie is out of their mind and the WORST kind of fanboy (not bashing fanboys cause I'm one and so are you). It just AIN'T gonna happen. Plus, the movie could still change names at the last minute could it not?
I suppose this an argument that "The Fallen" is more obscure than the "mainstream" Transformers mythology? Right, didn't the last movie ultimately revolve around The Allspark?* Not exactly something in the broad public radar re: Transformers. Again, I'm not saying The Fallen's a definite in, nor am I saying he's a definite out. I'm just saying that taking a foreign language title as definitive proof one way or the other is just speculation.
*And as someone who had his interest renewed in TF with the announcment of the original film (though that landed me reading mostly IDW's G1 stuff and not paying much attention to the film 'verse books), I can say that I had never heard of any of the 'Cons in the first film besides Megs, S'scream and Scorpinok. So creating some sort of major big and bad guy won't harm the movie franchise any more than the damage Bay's handling has already done we fanboys.
