Prime is a new take on the design, using his original cartoon design as a skeleton but adding some new design flares to make him eye catching and different. He also comes with many different parts to attach on, such as his wheels in case you like him with the visible wheels, blaster, trusty old Megatron slashing axe, Ion blaster, Matrix and more! Also included is some die cast construction and some LED lights.
This statue will be standing a proud 16 inches tall and already has the planned repaints into the White Prime AKA Ultra Magnus, and he also has a Nemesis Prime redeco in the works! All 3 of these statues will be available in the 3rd quarter of 2016 for pre-order. You can check out the whole article on 3A's Website, and we have mirrored below the sketch phase, gray model phase, and final product for you to check out!

Hasbro and licensee 3A proudly present the first release in the epic Transformers Generation One (TFG1) Premium Scale Collectible Series: the heroic Leader of the Autobots, OPTIMUS PRIME! Taking direct inspiration from the 1980s toy and animated series character model, Ashley Wood and the development team at ThreeA have taken a remixed approach that blends their uniquely stylized aesthetics while retaining Optimus Prime’s original iconic look.
Optimus Prime Classic Edition stands approximately 16” (40.64cm) tall and bears a stylized brawler-esque physique. The Classic Edition features a hefty 30% die-cast body, heavily weathered metallic paint, LED illuminated detailing, and an incredible range of articulation – including opening Matrix Chamber. The tankards and wheel wells are removable for a more streamlined animation style appearance. TFG1 Optimus Prime figure comes complete with interchangeable Energon Axe and his iconic Blaster Rifle.

I really like the idea of non-transforming, highly show/comic/game accurate, highly detailed, properly accessorized, highly articulate/pose-able figures (for either robot or alt-mode, or both), but I don't see them taking off.

One might think it comparing apples and oranges, but with that insanely high an asking price, you've really got to stand out as a G1 Prime, so MP-10 is what I'm going with. It doesn't transform, it doesn't seem particularly better articulated, it doesn't have any worthwhile gimmicks, it's certainly not cheaper, it doesn't even seem to scale better with anything, it goes for a stylisation over accuracy which is just off enough to not be interesting or different in any significant way... correct me if I'm wrong, but it just seems to hold no worthwhile advantages. Even if you wanted a Prime that's REALLY big, MP-01 seems to do that better too.
It looks cool, but compared to other figures and especially at that price I just don't understand why you'd buy this thing unless you're a huge Optimus collector

MORE THAN JUST A SOLDIER
Magnus will never admit it, but he is a strong and dependable ally. He has garnered respect on both sides of the battlefield and is truly a force to be reckoned with all the while believing he is nothing but a simple soldier. That being said, he does recognize he's an above average fighter and is more than willing to throw himself at multiple enemies. He's the Autobot that can be blown up and keep on trucking. Literally. Because he's a truck.
Take home one of the Autobots' most courageous fighters, Ultra Magnus. He is fully poseable with almost 60 points of articulation and comes with LED illuminating features. He stands 16" tall and can be equipped with his trusty double-bladed axe or plasma cannon. As much of an asset as he is on the battlefield, we know he'll be appreciated on your bookshelf, as well.

You've said this before and it doesn't really mean anything. You know nothing about my income or how I spend my money and therefore can't really comment. As is i've been unemployed for years due to health reasons and I get by. I don't drink or go out much and so most of my limited money after groceries/bills tends to be spent on affordable figures mostly Transformers Studio Series. I coooould save up for one of these large figures but it would mean giving up many Studio Series purchases and then I'd need more of these 3A figures to go with this Megatron and so on. I don't get enough money to make collecting these things a practical thing. Point is these things ARE expensive and ideally suited to collectors who make a fair bit more money than I do.

With 70 points of articulation, I would certainly assume so. Unless you think those 70 points are all in the upper body for some reason.
Also from Va'al's very first line in the Megs post:
Thanks to the official Facebook page for the official licensee of Hasbro Transformers, World of 3A, we have a full selection of images for their highly articulated and posable, but non transforming, action figure of Transformers: The Last Knight Megatron!

In BeastProwl's defense, Megatron's legs are in the exact same position in every single photo except like one where they're cut off. I think there are some statues out there that don't move from the waist down but have some moving parts, so it's not totally unreasonable to think the same here

I'll grant you its possible, unlikely but possible. But with 70 points of articulation, you'd honestly think none of those made it to the legs?

Oh for sure. I don't think that his legs don't move, but if someone just looked at the pictures without reading all the specifics (which I do more than I'd like to admit) I can see how they could come to tht conclusion if the legs are consistently in the same pose through all the photos.
