Just those first four of the guests (Stan Lee, Peter Cullen, Frank Welker, and Andrea Libman) alone would make going to Hascon worth it. But those ticket prices are enough to turn me off on going.

I don't know Ms. Libman, but sweet Solus Prime..... those tickets are more expensive than Botcon, all without any mention of Transformers exclusives or reveals. Easy pass.

I don't know Ms. Libman,
She's currently the voices of Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie on MLPFIM, but I alo know of her roles from other cartoons I grew up on, like her voicing the young AndrAIa on ReBoot or LaBrea on DinoBabies.

I would love to go as unfortunately missed out on Botcon but it's in the being of the school year which is weird since it's a family event. :-?

Wow... Well this just became and easy pass. About the same cost as the golden ticket but with no toys, no nothing. Just access to evening activities and panels? Big whoop. Sorry Hasbro, this was a huge mistake. :(

You dont have to buy the big expensive ticket. You could buy a 3 day pass.

Meh, when I was in school, the most well-off families would take trips to Disneyland during the school year because it was cheaper. When I was a teacher, the most well-off families would leave 2-3 days before Thanksgiving or Christmas breaks because flights were cheaper. The people willing to spend the money taking their family to this don't care about the school year.

I do find that this part sucks though:

We ask that you not* bring personal items to be signed. Artists and talent will only sign event merchandise purchased on the day of the event. Proof of purchase, such as a valid HASCON receipt, may be required.

So Stan Lee cant sign your old Fantastic Four comics? Kinda defeats the purpose. (then again, when I met Stan lee at a dinner, the only comic I had of his to sign was What if #200 :BANG_HEAD: )

My biggest issue now, is the same one I have with G-Fest (The annual convention for Godzilla fans). because now it will most likely be in the same location each year. Which is about as far away from me as you can be. At least when Botcon changed locations each year, I could count on it coming relatively close every few years, now there is no chance of that.

Pay $640 just for these bonuses:

Panel VIP – Access to special VIP early line-up when attending guest panels. (Must arrive 40 minutes prior to session and only available to first 50 VIPs per session.)

Evening Activity – Choose one of the many exciting evening activities including movie viewings, hall of fame dinners, peek behind the scenes with toy and game designers, and even some surprise guests. (Did someone say Dude Perfect?). Evening selections will be available in July on a first come, first serve basis as there are capacity limitations.

Reserved Theater Seating – Receive a guaranteed reserved Main Panel Seat in the HASCON theater. (Limited to one seat for one event per day.)

Goodie Bag – Get a HASCON gift bag filled with surprises and souvenirs.

Green Screen – Transport yourself to a virtual HASBRO world with our immersive green screen experience. First come first served until we reach capacity. Priority will be given to VIP ticket holders. Participation in green screen experience is not guaranteed.

NO THANKS! I prefer to spend that money on Toyworld Constructor + $200 on beers and watching HASCON videos in youtube.

So technically I could spend $600 on the VIP badge and only get a mystery gift bag to show for it since all of the other benefits aren't guaranteed? Sounds great.

Kinda wanted to go, but I was expecting a lot more from this seeing as how the convention center is literally right outside Hasbro's door. I expected the celebrity list to be more than four people as well. Sure, Cullen and Welker are a big deal, but that's all you've got for Transformers fans at a 3 day convention?

I wish they'd put a real schedule up. I want to go to this, but it'd be pointless to drive down on a Friday if the only thing I'm interested in is Saturday night or Sunday morning. No matter what they call this it still doesn't feel like a fan convention.

So...they did away with BotCon in favor of this clusterf**k? I mean, BotCon wasn't the greatest organized event either, nor was it cheap, but at least it was all-Transformers all the time. With HASCON, it's like Transformers is a small part of the events, and it still costs the same. Plus, as mentioned before, paying for travel and lodgings as well. This seems like it would be a good idea for those who live in the Northeast. But everyone else? No chance. Maybe if it's a financial failure, it will slap Hasbro in the face hard enough that they wake up and rethink this mess.

My limited and short experiences meeting Mr. Bush at Botcons have led me to believe he's a really humble, nice guy. So with that said, we'll make the call for pants his decision. Whatever he's most comfortable with. Whatever he'd like to Dare choose, I'm sure it'll have The Touch and light a Thunder in Your Heart (cover).

A deal breaker for many fans was the strict autograph policy said to be enforced at Hascon, where you could only autograph merchandise bought at the show.
Hasbro has since changed that to include anything official. So those who want Peter Cullen to autograph the G1 Optimus Prime they had as a kid of some old Transformers VHS covers you still treasure will be able to.

Here is the updated policy:
Our autograph policy has been updated: HASCON Guests will sign your HASCON Program Guide and only officially licensed DVDs, comics, toys and other collectibles, but they will not sign bootleg merchandise. Please bring only one item to be signed during each autograph session and understand that the HASCON Guests may or may not pose for photographs with the fans. For more information please visit our FAQ's here: Hasbro HASCON 2017

Well that's better and much more reasonable.

I totally understand why Hasbro wouldn't want a Third Party item there at an "official" Hasbro convention for Hasbro things.

I'm still annoyed that they decided to put all their properties together in one convention. Because obviously what we want is Transformers, G.I. Joe and... *shudder*... My Little Pony in one convention.

Granted, I'm not even able to attend because it's in America, but it still seems odd. Is this their way of making up for the fact there's not really enough fans for a standalone G.I. Joe convention to be justified anymore? Is it some sick joke, forcing Joe fans and TF fans to share space with Bronies (who have enough of their own conventions anyway)?

I dunno. Hasbro is weird.

For over 10 years botcon was only doing one figure. Once funpub came along they did the box sets and other stuff. This is the first year so it's going to be a learning thing and see how it goes.

One figure sounds great, and I really mean that. One of the issues Fun Pub had, imo, was the mentality that less could not possibly be more. Did year X's set have Y number of figures? Fun Pub thought that year X+1's set had to have greater than or equal to Y or it was a step back. They said so. It didn't and doesn't make sense and seemed like a strange self-imposed guideline.

Anyhow, yeah I am very in favor of Hascon going for more of an early Botcon or Tokyo Toy Show type model where there are 1, at most 3 or so choice pieces to commemorate the event.

My mistake they did twos and threes and sometimes just one. Certainly not on or with the 12+ botcon was doing. Either way it's still their first and it's not just accommodating transformers it's handling all their brands that they choose to participate.

It affects me in no way I never went to botcon. It was something I always said I'd do but now that it's gone I said "oh well"

I notice that he didn't say it was an actual toy/figure/etc, but I'm not going to nitpick over that. Just pointing it out since the wording on that seemed odd. I'll laugh my butt off it it turns out to just be a lithograph with a character from every franchise.

Also, Hascon is less than 3 months away. Kinda late to finally be announcing an exclusive item. If you wanted me to fly across the continent, you should've advertised more ahead of time, Hasbro.

I'm going to predict that the exclusive item to being something closer to an SDCC exclusive instead of a Botcon exclusive. So it'll be shiny or in a pretty box. And therefore, a very easy pass.

Another possibility is that it will be akin to those Japanese shows with their exclusive redecos. No no no, I'm not talking about black ones, they've done more than that!

This whole Hascon thing is interesting to me because they're trying to unite the fans of the different Hasbro properties under one banner, yet it seems like more and more TF fans are becoming skeptical of the whole thing. Is it wrong of me to secretly hope that this turns out like that whole Dashcon thing from a couple of years ago? Because if so, then I don't want to be right.

The difference is that Dashcon was put together by a small group of people who had never organised an event before, and blew most of their money because they knew nothing about responsible budgeting. I'm sure with Hascon everything has been carefully planned and budgeted in advance, by people who know what they're doing. There's a video on YouTube that goes into more detail about why Dashcon failed so badly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ZgxeX2dCnQ

I would find the imminent disaster that this show is going to be funny - if it wasn't so darn expensive for it's victims to attend.

"Power of the Primes reveals plus Masterpiece, Movie and more."

Looking Forward to the Power of the Primes reveal. But are the "Masterpiece, Movie & More" just showcases of the what's been shown recently or will there be an additional reveals with the showcased?

I will admit that I was being rather sarcastic when I made that comment. That being said, I'm still rather skeptical of this being the major success that Hasbro is hoping it will be. Realistically speaking, it'll probably be a moderate success with a few hiccups here and there.

I think it will be like the Tokyo Toy Show where they showcase a bunch of upcoming toys, not all of them being revealed for the first time.

I see. So they're probably showcasing what's mostly been revealed on the internet recently with a small chance of new reveals? (My apologies if I still don't get it)
