Here's the gist of it. Transformers, Star Wars, GI JOE, My Little Pony, etc., collectors can save some money by shopping at Toys R' Us. Currently, TRU and HASBRO are combining for a major sale. BUY ONE get ONE 50% off on the 2nd item.
The really cool thing though is that you can MIX AND MATCH! So you found only one TRANSFORMER, and one GI JOE toy that you want to get, and were bummed because you thought you couldn't take advantage of the sale... YOU CAN!
And of course, TRU happens to be the place where quite a few of the newer products in the Star Wars, GI Joe, and of course, TRANSFORMERS, have been showing up!
The bad thing, there are only TWO DAYS left for you to take advantage of the sale.
What are you waiting for? Did I also mention that the sale is not just in store, but is also available online? It is!
Check out Toys R' Us online and start saving (FREE SHIPPING on orders over $100 too!). Or take a day to treat yourself, and head out for lunch and a shopping trip to your local brick and mortar TRU.

My TRU has been doing this for weeks.
Heck the last time I was there, they also had a 20% off on all sale items.
And guess what. The shelves were still stocked full with ROTF toys.

Well...unfortunately that is the point of the sale. They are trying to clear out the old stuff that nobody wants in order to make room for the new stuff. From what little I know about retail is that anytime there is a sale, it means the store screwed up its inventory management. If inventory is optimized, then there is never a need for a sale. There are software products out there that supposedly help eliminate excess inventory.

Then you'd be wrong(though you're correct on THIS particular sale).
Many corporations organize sales for the entire chain and will often send out stock specifically for that sale.
At least, that's how it worked and Barnes & Noble as well as other book stores.

Yeah, it's most of the Hasbro stuff. That's why it says "amazing Hasbro Blowout" at the top. It's for all TRU's, and it's not like they keep track of how well stocked each individual store is. Some managers may have "sales" or "clearance" if that store has too much, but it's not like any of these stores actuall order the stuff, they just try to sell what they get from main distribution.
