HASBRO.com has posted a short survey aimed at the Transformers community asking questions on why you collect Transformers.

The 31 question survey seems to get the pulse of the collector and targets what we look for when purchasing our beloved Robots In Disguise.

Let HASBRO know how you feel by doing the survey here.

Strange, only Q1 appears for me.

I hope they post the results, I am curious to see what sort of picture is created of the collective fandom.

Yes, I agree. It would be fun and intresting to see what are the results from this survey Hasbro had created.

Some of the questions had been made somewhat stupid, but that is typical what comes to surveys generally.

Do you need to be a certain demographic to answer the questions or something? Once I got done saying I was a 25-29 year old female and hit submit, it just kicked me to the Hasbro homepage.

I think you have to be like 30 to take the whole survey. I only got Q1 because I'm 11

Looks like you have to answer at least 30-34 and male to take the survey.

...I'm sorry, doesn't that kind of defeat the point of a survey if you don't let all of the demographics who buy your products answer the survey? I could see cutting out anyone less than the age of "I can comprehend and answer questions", but other than that...

*cheats and answers the survey in the wrong demographic anyway* :-P

I'm 18 and I was able to take the survey (without lying about my age).

im 23 and i think i got the whole survey.. i didnt note how many questions total, but it was quite through..

admittedly it did take a few F5's to get the survey to load..

i would also like to see some form of results from this to, it would be most interresting indeed!

After a bit of tinkering, it's at least a 18-24 year old male (answering "female" kicks you out no matter the age).

I still stand by my comment.

Bizarre. Random sexism.
In the words of Homer Simpson: "I'm a white male, age 18 to 49. Everyone listens to me, no matter how dumb my suggestions are."

I've got slow internet at the moment (trust me to use up my broadband bandwidth in a week. Damn NZ. No unlimited broadband. Nooooooooooooo). This is ridiculously slow loading though. And from what everyone is saying... WTF?! I mean, is the whole survey not meant to be about diversity? Honestly... I mean, I can understand blocking off 10 year olds and under because they are little kids who are usually biased about these things - usually. However... at the very least, 13 and up, no matter what gender (sexist Hasbro. There's nothing extremely wrong with that but in the long run, there is because they won't get quite the same results although I guess they don't want it ruined by people trying to make it bad). Oh well. I'll post again if this ever loads and I can do it. Damn you, Hasbro, for choosing a non-HTML/PHP survey system.

I'm 25 and male, my survey had 29 questions.
Maybe the reason it's kicking the females is Hasbro doesn't care what you buy, it just wants to know how many chicks buy TFs period. I dunno. Still weird sexism, might not even be Hasbro, maybe it's just the script code. Random sexist AI?

I sent a message to Hasbro's director of marketing and their PR firm to let them know about the problems some of you are experiencing with the survey. Hopefully they'll open it up to all of the demographics. I imagine it's just a technical error.

A random, sexist AI script... How intriguing.

I still can't access the survey. I've tried it in Safari and IE but still no luck. I've refreshed so many times that it's not funny and all it says is "Please wait while the survey loads" which is rubbish because it is definitely not loading (according to the status bar on the bottom of my internet browsers).

I hope it’s just a technical issue, if it’s not and they just don’t care about female input I’d be rightfully upset.

I can assure you that Hasbro wants feedback from female fans as well.

I think with the current economic situation, Hasbro is going to try and funnel their money to an ad campaign and product that is more specialized and I suspect this survey is one way of deciding where to focus for maximum effect.

These are just the questions from the survey, for those who can't access it. It is interesting to know what Hasbro wants to know about us.

Q1 Age

Q2 Gender

Q3Do you collect Transformers toys?

Q4Approximately, how long have you been collecting Transformers toys?

Q5Did you start your Transformers Collection after seeing the Transformers Movie?

Q6What prompted you to begin collecting Transformers toys?

Q7Which of the following Transformers toy lines do you collect?

Q8Which of the following "non-converting" Transformers toy segments do you currently own?

Q9How interested are you in purchasing each of the "non-converting" Transformers toy segments?

Q10When making your Transformers toy purchase selection, what is more important?

Q11Please read the two statements below and select the one statement that best describes how you collect Transformes toys.

Q12Do you generally purchase for yourself more than one of each Transformers toy?

Q14Do you display your Transformers toys in the package, display your Transformers toys out of the package, and/or put your Transformers Toys in storage?

Q15How important are the following characteristics of the Transformers packaging to you?

Q15How often do you purchase Transformers toys for yourself?

Q17How do you learn about new Transformers toys?

Q18Where do you purchase most of your "new" Transformers toys?

Q19Have you ever purchased any Transformers products from Hasbrotoyshop.com

Q20Approximately how much do you spend annually on all Transfomers toys?

Q22Approximately how much do you spend annually on your Transformers collections other than toys?

Q23How often do you visit the Hasbro Transformers website?

Q24What is the primary reason you visit the Hasbro Transformers Website?

Q25Are you a registered member of any Transformers fan-site or community?

Q26Which Transformers fan-site or community are you a registered member of?

Q27Please indicate the region you live in?

Q28What state do you live in?

Q29Do you have any children 18 years or younger living in your household?

I finally got in. FINALLY. So, I'm 14. I selected 13-15. Thanks for your help! No good. Tried again. The next one. Same thing. Then, 18-24, it worked. Entered male (kind of obvious) and now it works. Damn you, Hasbro. We should sue Hasbro for no good reason and then Seibertron.com will be able to buy all of it's members a full Henkei set. As if.

I went yes (since I am 14... so yea, I lied about my age to get INTO the survey) and then it gives you two more questions:

30) What age are the children? (or something like that)
31) Do any of the children 18 years or younger living in household collect and/or play with Transformers?
Re: HASBRO wants your input (837384)

I honestly selected 18-24 and it had 29 questions.

I expected the questions to be a little more specific. And I would have liked a "What would you like to see/see more of in the future" type of question.

When making your Transformers toy purchase selection, what is more important?

It's the "character" I want or It's the "vehicle" I want

I found that question a little odd. I would think that "Character or Toy" would have been more appropriate. What are they looking for with that question?

Sweet, so Hasbro is basically interested in what I buy and doesn't care about you females or younguns. I like this. ;-)

Seriously though, whats up with the highest annual ecxpenditure being set at 200+......it shoulda been more like 2k+ lol.

I had 31. I pity the poor people who have to read all the "write-in" answers since we as a general fandom tend to be blowhards. Man I love Transformers.

it doesn't want your imput if you are female It seems.

Age 33 gender female
Thanks..

SEXIST!

Why is my imput as a collector not valuable? This really makes me mad.

i think they may be working on the sexist AI thing.. i just checked back and got this...

"The Hasbro Web sites are undergoing routine maintenance and are temporarily unavailable. We apologize for any inconvenience and welcome you to check back in a little while."

...hopefully that means their working on it.. my fiance was abit miffed she couldnt fill it in either :\

-edit- it would appear that the surveys now back up, but still not taking answers if you tell it your female -.-"

female transfans do not exist.... their a myth, like area51, nessie, or democracy..

*ducks*

seriously though , i'm kinda thinking this survey overshoots its target.
They are profiling the average collector (age, buyinghabits) ,some marketingstuff (where you buy, how you find out about new figures, packaging)
but not realy what he expects in a good figure, articulation, pricerange, gimmicks etc.....

Hasbro's PR company contacted me a short while ago to let Seibertron.com know that the programming error has been resolved with the Transformers brand survey that was launched yesterday. Many users were encountering difficulties while attempting to complete the survey. The issue has since been resolved. You can complete Hasbro's Transformers brand survey by clicking on the following link:

http://www.hasbro.com/common/surveys/tr ... survey.htm

Thank you to everyone who informed us that there was a problem yesterday. As you can see, communication is the key to resolving problems.

:D

Hi All -

Hasbro was recently made aware of a problem with its Transformers Collectors Survey posted to the brand’s website. A glitch in the programming was resulting in a termination of the survey when/if a participant selected “Female” at the onset of the survey. This was an unfortunate mistake in programming and not intentional. The issue has since been fixed and the survey is now operating as intended.

Thank you all for your continued support!

No Thanks.

I'm happier to do the survey and get a "Thank you" than to be issued a coupon that is highly likely useless unless you live in the States.

That still doesn't make us able to fill out the survey, you get a "can't retake survey" message at the end.

I'm disappointed by lack of QC questions. They could have asked us to rate our newest purchase. Then again, the survey seemed to have QC problems too. Hasbro just can't seem to get it together.
