Eh, they can't scale everything up bro.
I was very surprised we even got Combiner Wars with deluxe limbs.

However, I just ordered that Third Party Titans Return Power Master Prime cab to replace that hollow thing it has. So...
Anyway this Optimus looks a lot more like G1 Optimus.
The thing that bugs me, why the faux/fake chest?
Just like the Third Party Ginrai, why can't they just make a true G1 Optimus torso again?
I do hope they remold Orion Pax into a more G1 looking Optimus Prime at some point. But overall like this version and will pick him up (like all the other Power of the Primes figures as soon as I finish collecting all of the Titans Return figures, damn you Hasbro everything you made from Combiner Wars on is pure win in my eyes)
Maybe that's why the movie sucked, because they poured all their efforts into their Classics/Generations line.
Little bit on the fence about Starscreams tiny head and fake chest. But it's a lot better looking than the Combiner Wars seekers which I'm replacing the heads for self made 3d prints.
As for the new beast combiners... just awesome.
I need to clone myself because I don't have enough time to enjoy all the awesomeness they've been making in recent years. It's just too much for one Transformers fan :s

A look at an attempt at Megatronus that was deemed "too obscure" by management for Leader class figures.
You know what that also means? Chances of DJD or other IDW in-fiction only characters getting the Generations treatment at higher scales is slim to none.

Or maybe the design team thinks that one 1988 six-changer who was never in anything ever is more popular than a prominent villain in their multi-universal mythology, a recent cartoon and a live-action movie that made them a heckton of money. Seems rational to me.

Ah now I see them, both megatronus and prima. Too bad, they look cool. Personally I don't think leader scale works for them, but anything is better than nothing.

I'm not complaining about the characters we are getting. I have been quite happy with the inclusion of the female autobots in the toys and the current series (RiD and IDW), especially since it helps my daughter maintain interest in transformers. Oddly though, her favorite figure is Gnaw. We have put together a decent sized Gnaw army (the Gnawrmy as we say).
The thing I am a bit shocked by is that there were a ton of repaint/retool possibilities in TR that would have made sense, and hasbro chose not to overload us this time.

It looks like combiner wars devastator prototype figure without mixmaster looking arm limbs and long haul bot mode there identical hard to say having devastator with all figures leader class that will be master piece combiner figure

I want all the Dinobots but can't afford them all.
Looks like I'll just be sticking to Jazz, the Pretenders, Slash (sooo adorable!! ♥), and possibly Starscream.
As much as I'd like to actually complete a combiner this time around, I'm still as broke as ever and the only way that'll happen is if a boxset goes on discount at Ross or whatever.

No worries there. No chance a leader Megatronus comes out in PotP since all the primes are itty-bitties, and next year is all PotP.

Yep, as do they share upper arms, lower legs (now that's a significantly large part!) and probably some other parts as well. What I appreciate though is that their transformation scheme is different between the two; it's not just a reshell (preshell?) of a pre-existing transformation skeleton, there are obviously a few twists and turns that are different between the two - notably, their torsos face opposite directions in their dino modes. If CW started the trend of pre-planned mold uses, and TR got the hang of shared parts, it looks like PoTP is heading toward a full-blown mastery of creative retooling, reshelling and everything else in the general vicinity!JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:I see Sludge and Slug share upper legs and hips as well. I sure hope so! Of course, given that I'm approximately as excited about the prospect of this as I was about Nightbeat in TR (read:VERY), I'm also preparing myself to admit defeat if they decide a significant reshell wouldn't be worth the work. Yup, as that previous news alluded to. That sucks hard.
Kurona wrote:Only for Voyager. The Leaders are the same price as before; I'm pretty sure in TLK they were something ridiculous like 60.
This is only about US MSRP. The MSRP on the previous leaders in the Generations line, as you can see in the link below, is $45
https://www.hasbro.com/en-us/product/tr ... 5E03090E90
So this makes it a $5 increase.

Ooh, that would be nice now you mention it I mean, we've already got Rodimus Unicronus or whatever in the pipeline for PoTP; whether that makes a similar kind of SG/Nemesis deco for Prime more or less likely is up for debate.

John Warden confirmed that the blue chested Swoop is the correct one. At the Friday panel, they withheld showing Swoop's stock render for reasons that weren't disclosed at the panel, and encouraged people to go see his toy in the display after the panel. That the stock render had a red chest suggests that they didn't want to give people the wrong impression about the toy since the render had the "wrong" chest color, and also suggests that the decision to go with a blue chest for Swoop was one made too late in the game for the stock render to be changed before HasCon.JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:the_neptrix wrote:They've alternated blue and red chest Swoop, what, five times now? Not in this line, she is coming as a voyager in wave 2.
I am pretty sure we will be getting a Star Sabre though. Armada Prime wouldnt be likely since they already have a big Optimus for this leader class that they will be rereleasing throughout the line.
What I would want, and I dont think we will get it, would be a Megatron that turns into Galvatron to oppose Rodimus.

Yeah Grimlock only comes with his combiner feet. And we only know the leaders of the first 3 waves, Power of the Primes will likely comntinue into mid 2018, we have no clue what comes out for the last 3 waves.

I think I saw Snarl at least with a little removable gun on his dino mode? I'm not too sure. But even so, by this point I'm so used to updated toys not getting all of their 'proper' weapons (or any at all) that it hardly bothers me any more.
Grimlock though, I hadn't noticed that. Not that you point it out, I'm glad I still have FoC Grimmy's weapons (plus that gun that came with the IF Dino-Armor) to give to this one! Not that that helps anyone else, but still.
Those Leaders are all we saw in the leaks, yes, but those leaks only show what was "planned" for the first four (three? I'd trust Will on this one) waves. Since at this point we can be fairly certain PotP will be 6 waves, that leaves at least two waves' worth of Leaders (and every other class too) that we haven't yet seen. Plus on top of that, this:
that mordhelm observed (and I think I've noticed it too) seems to suggest that the wave plans we saw in the leaks weren't actually final. If they're reordering things between waves, there's also the potential (which seems likely to me) that some of the slots taken by re-released figures from earlier in the line might be replaced by new toys, or retools, or something. It's nothing concrete I suppose, but it's enough to encourage me not to give up hope, at leastmordhelm wrote:Did no one else notice that the official release from hasbro said all the dinobots will be available fall 2017?
