Thanks to an update from the Transformers Official YouTube page we have a cool Friday treat for you disciples of Unicron out there. In this short video you get to see the breakdowns and making-of the official poster for the HasLab Unicron project done by none other than Marcelo Matere!
Here's the word from Hasbro on Unicron:
"UNICRON stands alone as the most menacing figure in TRANSFORMERS lore, capable of devouring entire worlds and civilizations. He debuted in the 1986 film Transformers: The Movie and his insatiable appetite nearly brought the entire universe to its knees. But his legacy transcends both space and time.
The gigantic UNICRON would be the largest TRANSFORMERS figure ever created, taking the title from the previous record-holder, FORTRESS MAXIMUS. Artists and designers from Takara Tomy and Hasbro are working to capture the intricate details and features of the relentless Chaos Bringer to make this the most accurate UNICRON fans have ever seen.
In his immense robot mode, this version of UNICRON is over 27” tall and has more than 50 points of articulation. Includes fine pose-ability, such as movable eyes, fingers, mouth, and even teeth. He converts into a terrifying planet mode that is a stunning 30” in diameter. The planet mode features the iconic planet-eating jaws, geared to open so UNICRON can devour unassuming worlds. The planet mode also features a series of posable planetary rings. Comes with a stand for posing both planet & robot mode."
Unicron is on his way to our planet as we speak Seibertronians! Only the combined power of our fandom united can convert this planetary threat into a child sized toy ready to dominate our collections. Till all are one!
If you haven't backed this project yet there's still time but not much - just click HERE to head to Hasbro Pulse and put in your order for Unicron today!
If Unicron does not meet the 8,000 backers needed HE WILL NOT BE MADE!
Enjoy the view and as always stay tuned to Seibertron for the ultimate in Transformers news!

I really, really, reeeeeally need you to make this Haslab Unicron fan sourcing project become a reality. I've literally gambled my entire Transformers Armada MISB collection and bagged and boarded Dream Wave Armada/Energon comic collection including the poster book and 3 issue Armada encyclopedia, to afford this thing. I know I'm crazy for doing so but I have faith in you and in this masterpiece that Hasbro and Takara have engineered. I loved that collection and would giggle like a spoiled private school boy whenever a reissue Generations version of Armada Starscream or Armada Megatron would be released because I already owned the original releases. Forgive me for breaking your third commandment "Thou shall not commit collector snobitry" and sticking my nose up at those subsequent offerings. That collection is gone now and I vow not to look back on it so I may avoid you turning me in to a pillar of rust, especially if you bless me and all of the Seibertronian believers with the chaos bringer. I will not worship him as an idol, I promise, but I have already prepared a place for him far atop my Detolf Cabinet with "The Covenant of Primus" hanging just above. All these things I pray in the name of your son who sacrificed himself within the first 20 minutes of the movie and rose again in season 3.

So, yeah, blame Brexit.it's genuinely been in the works for a while now, the reason its taken so long is it needs to be signed off by the USA which happened yesterday ( 17th ) the brexit thing is a pain for this project and its something we're discussing with them at the moment.
And yeah in days gone we weren't geared up for EU and we def cannot please everyone, everyone has good and bad to say about all retailers but I promise you this we'll try our best to help out Europe with this project via the official channels and have already been in contact with an EU based business with regard to the assisting us.

I will be honest I have not dedicated my brain to wrapping around Brexit. I probably know more about Cybertronian politics than Earth politics
Can you explain for me how you think it impacted or complicated things? Or is it just going to get too political. Just genuinely curious no dog in the fight or anything.

In a nutshell, the UK will no longer be part of the larger European Economic Union, and will form its own separate economic entity. However, the conditions and date are still not agreed upon even after all those years, thanks to all the bickering in parliament.

Aw man that’s hella cool of that guy! That’s pretty rad to get the word out and to be so honest about it. I mean that makes sense now it’s not like a strung out series of reveals this s*** gets complicated. Hey thanks for posting that Sabr!

Also they didn't get the numbers they wanted from the US alone and so went about retroactively making the crowdfunding global. That being the only reason they did so.

I would always have welcomed a Unicron figure of any size, just not one made through the practices they had used here.

Except for the established precedent. We had similar lines of hyperbole with the initial date in August. That was guaranteed to be the absolute final date for the crowdfunding.. EVER. Spoilers: It wasn't.

Don't be mistaken, Brexit has been playing havoc with a lot of companies in, and doing business with, the UK with some at the point of collapse (the already struggling Thomas Cook being the latest victim). Breaking off from an economic zone to (re)start your own is not taken lightly.

Or probably never left it amyway.
Also, Kapow reached out. They said the comment Sabr posted is being misinterpreted (their fault). Brexit is a problem fir when it will be released not for this particular delay.
So it turns out their rather poor wording meant we couldn't take what we read at face value.

Or rather, as a whole we have a bit of an annoying habit of jumping the gun. True, it's great that we're being corrected, but sometimes I feel they shouldn't have to, instead explaining everything beforehand.

Wouldnt just the current tally make more sense? Thats all that matters. I dont see how presenting a hypothetical linear equation instead of that helps when the tally never went up that way.

I mean NO 8,000 backers, NO Unicron...thousand...ok I know that doesn't rhyme but I wanted that catchy rhyme punch to it.
You know gang, I was just seeing if there was any murmurs of news around about 'ol Unicron and I noticed something, or the lack of something.
Any of the sponsors where he's available? He's pretty buried in there. Certainly in no way featured. If anything I feel like I'm seeing a surge in 3P ads and products being prominently featured. Probably a coincidence but, just something that I noticed.
It kinda bummed me out though. Like he's not in a banner rotation or set as an image for a category to click through to even? If he's on a page he's far down the page. It's like, this is a huge event! Ah, to me, at least. I know it's not the same for everyone and that's totally cool, but for places where you can buy it? Come on get that sucker up there!
And another thing I noticed is none of the other TF sites have featured Unicron articles very much either which is also kind of a bummer. I don't get how what has been newswed here can be considered so un-newsworthy, to me I just feel like hey fellow TF maniacs this is what's going on with Unicron we just want you to know! I can see how some people see it as trying to create click bait drama or something but come on, let's be real here I just hope our fellow newsers out there find some cool angles to share with their readers as the clock ticks down.
I don't know any thoughts anyone? Maybe I'm seeing this from just from too cursory an overview perspective or...? What do you think?
Sorry to ramble. Unicron has me eating Angolmois sandwiches my brain's been taken over.

Especially because it may open the door to more insane projects for the future.
Like a genuine MP Metroplex that will scale within the MP line perhaps?

"Where will you display that thing?"
"How will you play with that thing?"
Aye carumba.
I saw on line a cool custom Metroplex who looks like he could tombstone piledrive me but who would mass build that and then buy that. It'd be all the same rigmarole all over again. After this I think downscaling may be the wise way to go. I do see more of a playability with something that's a huge city than just a death world I get the value in that regard.
