Dammit, here we go again. Don't these Reavers ever shut up? ...and cue Zombi!

*taped applause*

Transformers News: Re: HMW: Campaign for Cybertron - Extinction - Round 2: War of Violence!
...I don't care what the warranty says, that is definitely NOT a silent setting!

Greetings, peasants!
We have our airwaves back again! These interruptions are really damaging my ratings! What exactly does Soundwave actually do around here? May as well just employ Blaster and go back to voicing over hip-hop YouTube virals…

What? The Reavers? Ugh. OK, whatever.

So, like, our specialists over at The Senate headed up by Mal Practice, Starsurge and that barrel of laughs called Perceptor have released an in-depth analysis of the Infection. They have determined it is a modified strain of the Hate Plague that befell Cybertron many centuries ago, and in light of these recent annoying broadcasts by those Reaver basics, they have imaginatively named it the ‘Brood Virus’.
Seriously? That's the best they could come up with? Even Hard Wired could do better than that and he is literally a shambling corpse!

Anyway, it consists of nantes of non-Cybertronian origin that have been cybernetically engineered to adhere to our CNA, the chemical strain within our sparks that give us life and free will, and simply reprogram us to serve these Reaver douchebags like a badly-rooted iPhone.

The nerds are still working on a detection method and are using the samples taken from the twelve identified as 'resistant' to formulate a cure, but they claim these tests need time. Personally I'm pretty sure if they all stopped arguing like a pair of Predacons in heat for more than a breem we'd have the cure already...

The one thing they have said that is actually of use however, is that the resistant twelve have a far better chance of bringing a team back from inside the Inferno than the rest of us, so to try and concentrate exploration around these individuals:

Kludge
Behemoth,
Orobus,
Colossus Prime,
Shunt,
Rioghan,
Mendem,
Pandaemonium,
Suspiria,
Tarantulas,
Nosferatu,
It is however worth nmentioning that the original 12th member, Emergency, may have been 'accidentally' stabbed with a contaminated scalpel when Mal Practice found out she was defecting to the Autobots with the Warhawks, so can no longer be considered 'resistant'. In her place we've dumped Nemesis Wheelie into the mix as he is so annoying that no one actually cares whether he is controlled or not.

Meanwhile, in related news, both factions have sent recon teams to monitor the mouth of the Inferno in the almost-certainly-futile hope that they can head off any Reaver Brood that strike out in an effort to begin the invasion of our home early. Reports from the front vary, with our spies contacts in Iacon claiming that there is little to no reported activity as yet, whilst the rumour mill in Kaon says that NAIL’s, that's Non-Aligned Indigenous Life-forms to everyone else, are beginning to arrive in increasing numbers and are even attempting to enter the Inferno itself.

All we can do for now is hold our ground until either the Geek Squad stop dicking about and actually do some work, or the Reavers begin their offensive and hope the 'undiseaseable dozen' can tip the balance. Either way, I'm going to put my little rampant rabbit paws up on the Toaster and enjoy the show!!

Til next time! Zombi out.

Oh, and that buzzing you might have heard is obviously Hazard...

Campaign for Cybertron: Extinction
Round 2 - The War of Violence

Round 2 begins TODAY!

This is a WAR round.
Watch for the special missions, you'll know them when they appear!

Rules this time are simple:
If you see a Campaign mission, enter and try to win it.
No need to post every victory, we got toys backstage for that now, just concentrate on getting the win!
The Seibertronian Accord is irrelevant as NAIL (all non signed-up players in this case) involvement also counts, so make sure you get in those missions fast!
Results will count regardless of how many players are in them, unless they are empty in which case the Reavers will gain a win!

Additional reward game for signed up players only:

Twelfth Knight.

Any mission victory with one of the 12 characters listed above from their own faction in it can be posted here. The faction with the most posted wins that include one of the 12 will get a bonus at the end, which will be doubled if their faction also wins the war of Violence.
Each mission can only be posted once, so work together!

The Seibertronian Accord will be active, allowing the outnumbered faction to choose NAIL commanders as Drones to even the sides.

There will be a prize for the faction that wins each competition, and these will give a strong hint of the final reward at the end of the Campaign.

You have 24 hours to sign up for the forum game (8am Sunday UK time), but the war starts as soon as the first mission appears!

As always, put your questions and signup posts below and once the Twelfth Knight game starts, feel free to brag, taunt and smacktalk away!!
Enjoy!

The game is firstly playing the missions with the titles that begin C4C and have the images with them. All those missions won count towards your faction winning.

The other part is more specific to some of the people who took part in round 1 and 12 specific characters. Don't worry too much about that but if you want to join in look out for the tourney missions to enter.

I don't have time to check my mission results, but I know my team has a win-percentage of 78% (with my top 'Bot Alldarker having a win-percentage of 82%); far better than either Sprokitz's team (72% wins) or Burn's team (70% wins).

Let's see what the former so-called Autobot Saviour had for his team... 65%. Okidoki.

So there is an actual Autobot saviour, and his name is... Alldarker.

If the only thing that mattered was win%, I wouldn't have been a Maximal. I certainly wouldn't be dropping bots into out numbered missions to help allies. (I'd also still be playing BF4 where I had a 80% win)

How many of those wins are from missions with little or no opposition? The fact that the Autobots having the numbers advantage over the Decepticons, those two being at 70% or better is actually pretty good. Besides, Sprockitz is ahead of you as team commander, Super Megatron -still- has the top bot and you are -still- no where near catching him, 300 million behind bot Gore and whoever Sprockitz guy is. That's how I know you don't deploy in a lot of missions with solid opposition. If you did, you wouldn't be so far back. How many of those wins came because I healed you to victory too?

But, riddle me this AllFaker, if you're so much better then everyone else, and deserving being the Autobot Saviour, why are you not rallying the troops and why are the Autobots losing so bloody badly? For all your personal success, when have you ever lead the bots to victory? When have you tried?

One more thing, said in an old man voice! Primus be damned if you aren't arrogant! I did not ask to be called a saviour, but you -think- you are. I am sorry our god spoke to me and not you. I am sorry the title was given to me, but that does not mean I believe you are worthy. You focus to much on personal gain and not the betterment of others.

TL;DR, brag all you want about your win%, you still aint first in anything. And you smell like poo-poo. :P

They're still going, this isn't due to end until Sunday.

There is greater variety of (non-tourney) missions in the lower 0-5 bracket, so a smaller chance of them (tourney missions) being generated.

THE END IS NIGH!! Oh, wait, that happened a few hours ago...

Welcome back, bots and babes, to the roundup broadcast of WarPorn Industries latest Campaign instalment and exploration of the enigmatic region known as the Inferno.

We have all just spent the last week battling our enemies try to and get the greatest advantage against these unknown Reaver d-bags, and it has been hard going - the Sonic Canyons have never been so busy, and we are just about ready to re-open the Inferno region now so exploration can continue, but not before we tell you about an incredible discovery we have made down there.

Those of you who took part in the final round of the previous campaign, you may recall an Autobot artefact called the Shard of Resillience that also told us about the first programmer and Ancestor of the Heavy Metal War? Well, behold mortals, as we have discovered...
The Throne of Vir.
Image

Wait, what? I hear you all cry! What's he got to do with all this?

Well, let me pass you over to the ancient one himself, Senator Short-aft, to explain:
Psychout wrote:Here it is! Marvel in the majesty of Vir's throne! The original seat of the first great coder who molded Cybertron to his will and ushered in our modern age, but this is far more than just a cosy seat of power.

Our investigations have discovered machine code inscriptions throughout the chamber telling of another more important purpose; it also operated as a seal, or firewall if you will, erected here in the eye of what has become the Inferno, specifically engineered as a barricade against the horrors of our past from invading our modern reality.

Could this ancient dias be the cause of this mysterious Inferno region, or is it a by-product of it? We may never know.
What we do know is that it is heavily damaged, but we do not know when or even how. That Shard of Resillience, now destroyed, appears to have once been a part of that throne completing the seal, which means that whatever was behind could now escape. Could other parts be missing too? We can only guess.

We sent our bravest and expendable Predacon scouts down to investigate the vast ancient chamber and the throne itself and... well... we have good news and bad news.

The bad news is, we have discovered where these Reavers are coming from. Vir's Throne was patching up a breach to the Dead Space dimension, which is now leaking into our reality. This appears to be what allowed the Reavers to pass into our Cybertron, and it is the Dead Space power they are using to convert the NAILs and maybe others into their mindless Brood armies through their infection.

The good news however, may also be bad... we have found an ‘escapee’ from the Dead Space. It appears Cybertronian in origin, but is in a critical condition and unrecognisable in all other respects except one - it clearly has monstroous altmode capabilities that once included the agility to Bite. It has been taken back to Neo Kaon and interred within WarPorn’s tax haven industrial complex there for further study under Mal Practice and his team from across the 4 factions.
What? The Predacons didn't come back from... oh. Oops.
Ahem. Make that 3 factions.
We will update you all with details on our new friend once Parasite has finished her ‘interrogation’.

Also, scouts are quite cheap to replace. Think that goes in the ‘good’ column?

Sage wisdom as always from the boss there.

So, whilst we wait for our specialists to pull apart the main mission terminals and dig out the results of both the War and the Twelfth Knight competition, we turn our attention back to the Inferno.

Both factions had very different objectives for that war, and we can exclusively reveal to all of you exactly what those differences were.

Can any of you spot what was going on?

0-5 (Bots) "Campaign for Cybertron: Extinction - Transport the Fortifications?"
Image
Something ain't right here. Prowls orders ain't making any sense - he's just shut down the defences over in Iacon and is deploying them to the Sonic Wastes. That's Decepticon turf! He wants us to defend them as they are transported, and that could take days!
Guess we got no choice. Get over there, and find out what's going on! Just watch your backs, I've got a bad feeling about this.

Win:
We repelled the Deceptions good, and the next battalion wave is in position. I hope you know what you are doing here, Prowl!

Loss:
Those Decepticons, they came from nowhere! Has the infection reached them as well? Regroup, and prepare to resume the assault!

6-11 (Bots) “Campaign for Cybertron: Extinction - The NAIL Exodus”
Image
Autobots, the Sonic Wastes are usually a barren wasteland but it's currently flooded with non-aligned Cybertronian activity, and more are landing there all the time. We don't yet know why and I can't reach Prime in Iacon, so Prowl is giving the instructions. We are to get over there and find out what’s going on as they aren't talking on the comms. I don't like this, but the Sonics' are deep inside Decepticon territory, so be prepared to fight to protect these NAIL’s if you have to!

Win:
The Decepticon slaughter has been halted for now, but the NAIL’s are still coming and refusing to answer our transmissions. Medics also report that many of the injured amongst them are refusing treatment. Suspicions are that the infection may have spread… has anyone been able to contact Optimus yet? He needs to know this, something isn't adding up here... what is Prowl up to?

Loss:
No!! Those Decepticons... they just wiped those NAIL’s out like they were robo-cattle! We have to double down on our defences and help them, those innocents, they're being slaughtered and it is our duty to protect them!

1-11 (Bots) “Campaign for Cybertron: Extinction - Cut off the Canyons to protect our research!”
Image
Autobots, tactical command here. Autobot high command has given us the order; we're to barricade the Sonic Canyons. Yes, the entire Sonic Canyon region. I know you don't understand, but this comes down from the top, so we do it! All Autobot warriors are to report to the edge of the Inferno immediately for redeployment to the defensive battalion, cutting off enemy access to the area. The newly arriving fortifications will help once they are driven in, but the region is highly volatile and unstable so an exclusion zone is being set up. Ultra Magnus will stop the NAIL’s from flooding in, your job is to drive the Decepticons out of the region, allowing us to investigate the fissure properly. Don't question the orders, just ready yourselves for battle!

Win:
This section of the defences is up, just a few more sections to go and the barricade will be complete, then this whole region will be secure. No more questions soldier!

Loss:
Those defences are vital to this war, we cannot allow the Decepticons into the Inferno region again,we don't know what damage they could do! Regroup and await further orders!

Image

0-5 (cons) “Campaign for Cybertron: Extinction - The Autobots, Compromised?”
Image
Deceptions.
Infiltration of infection in Autobot Command: Confirmed. Location: Inferno region. Security is compromised as Prowl has “ordered” their oblivious heavy defenses to the Inferno. Evident he is inhibited by Reaver control, as are his immediate subordinates. Analysis: All Autobots are now to be considered 'Compromised' by the Reavers.

Objective: Intercept and destroy. We must forbid the Reavers this defensive advantage before Shockwave has formulated a cure to eradicate this threat.

Win:
Operation: Successful. Autobot Transports destroyed. Laserbeak reports more are on route, report back to Kaon for redeployment.

Loss:
Failure is not tolerable, this threat is greater than expected, I shall let you live, this time. Reform, and report. If you fail to destroy the transports next time, if they do not terminate you, I will do it myself!

6-11 (Cons) “Campaign for Cybertron: Extinction - Cockroach Extermination!”
Image
New data has come in and I, personally, have confirmed it - the non-aligned Cybertronians or “NAIL’s” as you idiots call them have been infected and we suspect many of the Autobots have as well. Non-aligned have begun to move into to the Sonic Canyons and are making their way down into the Inferno itself in droves, they are literally handing themselves over to the enemy!!
We cannot risk the Reavers taking control of either the legions of NAIL’s or the Autobots, they must be stopped!
Assault the region and destroy everyone there, I don't care what their allegiance is! Nothing is to get into the Inferno region, nothing! Do you understand??

Win:
A satisfying victory, Deceptions! Like petro-rabbits to the slaughter. I've stopped this battalion of Reaver troops before it can be created, but there will be more! Report back to me immediately - Starscream out!

Loss:
You traitorous fools, you let the NAIL’s get past you!! Are you trying to aid the Reavers?! Get back to base before I have you handed over to Trypticon for re-smelting! Now get out of my sight!!

1-11 (Cons) “Campaign for Cybertron: Extinction - Fight your way into the Inferno”
Image
The Autobots are barricading us out of the Inferno! And they think WE are insane?! If we can't get in there to stop the Reavers then all of Cybertron is doomed! Mobilise, and clear them out, now! We just have to hope whoever is giving the Autobot orders in this region is just stupid, as opposed to under the Reavers control, as it looks like they already got the NAIL’s!
There is a simple way to deal with this! Get out there Decepticons - dead Autobots can't be compromised!!

Win:
Now that's my kind of destruction! Only a few more battles like this and we can finally get to those Reavers...

Loss:
Their defences are clearly too much for you weaklings. Come back when you understand the importance of this mission.

Results are on their way, but until then - let's hear your conspiracy theories!! Just what IS going on around here?

Prowl is clearly insane or compromised.

Prowl and Soundwave are compromised. Someone on each side.

Nah. Prowl I agree with, but not Soundwave. Of the three, I'd say Sixshot. Or Sir-Not-Appearing-In-This-Film Shockwave.

Or, since Prowl seems to be clearly compromised, no one was compromised. The Autobots wanted to keep the Cons out of the Sonic Canyons, the Cons wanted to keep the Nails from getting to the Reavers. The Autobots, in an unAutobot like action (given the player base, not the canon) worked to protect the Nails, but clearly missed the broadcast saying the Nails were compromised. Prowl might have known what would be found and wanted to keep the Cons from finding it, and viewed that as a bigger threat too. There's a couple of different plausible scenarios, but the most likely one is that Prowl was compromised and used the Autobots to allow the NAILs into to get to the Dead Universe portal. Would that make the con's the good guys here? Probably, but this -is- heavy metal war, and the con's have always been the most noble side of the two.

Isn't that a proven fact? I mean, has anyone ever been to the other side of the planet? It's always just the one side. Maybe we should find some Autobots to shoot into space to see. Or, you know, shove off the edge.
