An upsized, beefier and awesomer take on old OP. Reminds me of his IDW incarnation. But non transformable......Actionmaster on steroids?
@mods, if there's already an article about this, please merge or purge.

Fellow Seibertronian
fenrir72 notified us of an update on the officially licensed OriToys Hero of Steel Optimus Prime we
reported on from the Hong Kong Ani-Com - as the company have released a 3D print of the product in its prototype stage on their
blog, and which you can check out below! There is still no confirmation as to whether this impressively posable figure will transform, but from the pictures, it seems unlikely at this stage.
With new presentation and super articulations, Hero of steel will be an ultimate collection series of our dream super robots!
HOS 01 - Optimus Prime is the first Hero we bring to you. The preliminary prototype is under motion test and final prototype will see you soon in HKACG 2015!

So, wait, is this the first time a convention exclusive has ever been a completely new mold figure from Hasbro? (Oilmaster's shell was an accessory, and was made by Boss Fight Studios)

Licensed by Hasbro, not made by Hasbro or any affiliate like FunPub. ORITOY is the manufacturer, which makes sense given Hasbro's penchant for outsourcing products only big fans will likely buy.

Ah, so it's a similar case to Oilmaster's shell, then.

Yup. Basically when a company has no experience in a certain field or finds the development of a certain product to risky, outsourcing part of it to a different company with more experience in that field is the way to go. Hasbro has plenty of experience in Toys, but for fan-oriented products they turn to companies like FunPub and other manufacturers of such items to mitigate the risk. I do wonder if it was commissioned by Hasbro, or if ORITOY presented the design and asked Hasbro for the license.

He's got the right proportions to be Gurren Lagann...which works super well for GL, but somewhat less so for Prime. Also, I'm not sure about that head scuplt, a good close up would help.

That figure looks pretty boss... I'm always impressed by strong poseability. It doesn't seem any 'puffier' than the Revoltech figures, and most folks were over the moon about those.

To me this looks like the Optimus Prime action figure I wanted as a little kid. Beefy and cartoon looking. And for those who say "It's not a transformer if it doesn't transform..." It's not a transformer. It's an action figure of a character from transformers, In the worlds of the mighty Thew Adams.
