Custom and KO toy company iGear has just posted a new image on their facebook page, the image is of two possible versions of a new Kup head to be fitted on the upcoming "Classics" style Reveal the Shield Sargent Kup figure.

The head is based on Kup's second appearance in the idw Transformers comic series, where he was shown to have a "Cygar", a cigar like object.
There are two different versions, A & B, and iGear would like to know which of the two is preferred by the fandom.

I'd buy it, I'm a fan of the IDW continuity. No way Hasbro could have gotten away with that even if they wanted to.

The sculpt is fantastic...

My main concern is the quality...The only product from iGear I own is Autoscout and the plastic used for it is very cheap and brittle...I would fear for the survival of the cygar if the same plastic is used for this...

Also, I'm curious about how well the figure still transforms with the cygar sticking out like that...

If they ever actually release it (this is iGear we're talking about here) I'd go for the A head.

Just hoping that having an undesigned for protruding thing in the way doesn't interfere with transformation. Colors can be fixed if necessary but potential breakage is a factor.

I have their City Cimmander Wrecker Leader set with UM new head and I've never had any problems with it.

Preferably A. Gives him a tougher look to him, with the squinted eyes. Kup is by far, to me, the crown jewel of the Reveal the Shield line. ;) :APPLAUSE:

yeah A looks awesome! it give kup the whole "i'm pissed at this whole situation jazz it's all your fault" look.

I was going to cast my vote on their facebook page. But I don't really see the point when everyone (and I do mean everyone) is voting for A. That's the one I'd have gone for anyway.

I can see this being a "do you want him to have a Cygar or to transform?" situation. I can live with that when he'd look this badass.

If the Cygar is somehow removable I can see the figure still transforming. But as you said, if not, it is a necessary sacrifice.

Sweet, news credit. :-B

I honestly don't see the Cygar getting in the way for transformation. It doesn't stick out that much. I'm definitely for version A myself as well. But of course it's not that necessary for me. However, if it was part of a bigger set with a bunch of Generations/RTS upgrades, I might be interested, as long as it's a reasonable price.

I don't see it getting in the way but I would be afraid of breaking it, or losing it if it is removable.

That is just too cool! I'll take sculpt "A" and I could care less if it interferes with the transformation. With that head on him, he'd be a permanent display piece anyways. Looks like I'll be buying 2 Kups since I also love his truck mode.

No disrespect to anybody but I think this is really stupid !!! On the same level of stupidity as Grimlock wearing a chef's apron. What they need to be making is a G1 accurate Blurr head to replace that annoying IDW head. Or a Junkion head set for a complete gang of them.

I agree with you about the Junkion heads, Headrobots or somebody needs to crank out a multipack of them.

How is making an IDW accurate head the same as making an apron for MP Grimlock?

Good question...heres my answer:

Blurr smoking a cigar is stupid.

Grimlock wearing an apron is stupid.

Sundwave with an electric guitar is stupid.

A mickey mouse Optimus Prime is stupid.

I am on a crusade against anything "stupid".

I mean no disrespect to anyone who disagrees with my opinions on whats stupid. Im just like my figures hardcore and violent looking...you feel me ???

First off, I'm assuming you meant Kup, not Blurr.
And do you know why he "smoking" a cygar? Or do you know anything about the IDW continuity. To say something is stupid is your own opinion, but to say something is stupid that you really do not understand is somewhat ignorant. I think it is an excellent idea. Now we have a Kup who is rather G1 accurate(with modern upgrades) for G1 pushers like yourself, and iGear is giving other fans a chance to represent their favorite Kup

EDIT: I don't want it to sound like I'm calling you ignorant either. I just think it is excellent for third party companies to be able to give us the best of both worlds, not just one way or the other.

Let me be honest with you...I dont read comics. I own a few for value. But Im not into reading. It just doesnt stimulate my mind if the picture doesnt move and make noises. Also when I made reference to Blurr, I was saying it would be nice if this company would make a G1 Blurr head for the Generations body. My goal is to have a complete G1 movie team as accurate as possible. And although I have no proff, I got a funny feeling a G1 Blurr head would be more popular than this Kup cigar head with mainstream collectors in general.

As far as the "ignorant" comments, Ill give you a free pass on that and act like I aint never seen it. Keep in mind that just because somebody thinks something is stupid, that doesnt make them ignorant. Im actually making a comment on something a comic artist came up with that I think makes Kup look ignorant. And I specifically said I mean no disrespect to those who disagree with me. So slow your role and relax buddy.

Re: iGear planning RTS Kup "Cygar" head! (1151546)

Actually the story behind why Kup is constantly chomping on that cygar is really good. It's not just artistic license, but since you don't read the comics you wouldn't know that.

I like it! Doubt I'll get it as it's probably going to cost more than I want to spend. It honestly took me 4 or 5 looks at the pictures, and reading the thread here before I realised there was a difference between the 2 heads, but yeah, A is the better.

BTW, I just looked up "ignorance" to check that the definition I knew hadn't been replaced by some crazy new one. Maybe I should also look up "irony".

My point exactly.

I'm not calling Rated X or ignorant or the fact that he thinks the idea is stupid. But, calling something stupid you do not understand is. And who knows, maybe if this Kup head does well they will make a G1 based Blurr head, or better yet an IDW Perceptor head :)))). I think this is great for iGear considering they spend most of their time making KO's.
