If it gets worse, I'm going into G1 pursuits only.

If this is Voyager or Leader class, it'll be the first Megatron I passed on in years.
However, as deluxe, he's drone worthy, even though that jet is pretty falic.

I imagine this is a deluxe.
I scrolled back up to look again. It's already growing on me. I'm so easy.

lol.
He dosnt look brilliant, and I hope he isnt actully blue, it dont suit him.
Ive liked the larger Prime we've seen, its a shame there hasnt been a line since Armada (and I suspect that was a fluke) that has had a decent Prime AND Megatron toy.

Your kidding me right? Armada Prime sucked man. Megatron was good but Prime was crap. Cybertron Prime was better than armada. And have you forgotten the Classics line?

At first glance, I'd guess this was the Deluxe. If I remember it rightly, the Voyager Prime is the pre-Earth version, and the Voyager is the one from the main series; it'd be logical for Megatron to follow the same progression.
But isn't this the same fig (albeit in purple) as the one we saw pics of a few weeks ago?
Posted by jaster_bensen on August 21st, 2007 @ 3:40pm CDT
though it seems a lot of people dislike the Megs figure, personally i think there's more issues concerning the animated Optimus and BBee.

Oh yeah, Cyb Prime IS better than Armada Prime, but Armada Prime (imo) is a good toy.
RiD: I dont care for Megatron, this less about my like of the toy, and more about me not thinking it is 'Megatron'.
Armada: I like both.
Energon: Terrible Prime
Cybertron: Megs looks like the Batmobile after Uncron has spewed on it.
Classics: OK, I didnt forget about them, they both are rather good in this line, but it isnt a main line, so dosnt ruin my point.
Movie: EVERY version of Mevatron is rubbish.

The alt mode, obviously it sucks, but perhaps it's somehow mistransformed or maybe when we've seen the cartoon it'll make more sense.

True, but it's kind of ironic because it was always for Kids, but this incarnation tones things down too much.
it's like a cartoon made for kids, but based on a cartoon for kids?

Energon : good Prime (tons of playability), good Megatron
Cybertron : excellent Prime, good Megatron (bad ankles though)
Classics : excellent Prime, excellent Megatron

No, we see photos of several painted figures, and so far the line sucks. I guess you didn't see those ComicCon galleries.

I kinda get the feeling this figure is Shockwave, not Megatron.

Yet you havent played with the toys either. I think they all look awsome. But yet again toys are for kids and cartoons are for kids so they have to be apealing to the larger aduince instead of the grumpy old me.

Night~Flare wrote:You know whats so cool abouy you guys you see one prototype and it makes the whole line suck.
Ha, I agree.
Even if everyone on this site thought these molds were trash, Hasbro would still make a killing, because this show is not going to be marketed for 15-40 year olds, but under 12's, and is going to have a prime time spot on cartoon network. A prodominant childrens show network, with a toy line that 99% of buyers will be little kids (or the parents of).
I find it funny how much grown adults can whing and bitch about how a toy looks. The only reason why? Its because you can. Majority are going to take back what they said in a few months anyway.
When all the movie line toys were coming out, all I saw was no stop threads about how much they all sucked. Now majority of those people bashing them months ago, now own them all, and love them (par a few).
Its just the early stages of a pathetic fanboyism. Be happy that they are taking the time to make a new series, with new toys.
Just wait til they come out, and you have it infront of you, in your sweaty little palms to bash it then.... Its a proto ffs...

Exactly. First thing I thought when I saw this was "this has got to be Shockwave." Seriously he share so many designs aspects with shockwave it's hard to believe him to be Megatron.Overcracker wrote:This figure, is either not Megatron, or a pre earth Cybertronian mode. Compare the face, chest, and weapon design.

I will most likely enjoy the Animated series, but I think the toys are going to the s%^$'s

i agree in some ways. the big armada optimus fell short for me some, but bendy prime made up for it. some fans cant tell the diffrence, or rather dont want to, between a cool transformer, and a great toy.
me, i look at everything all in all. look, feel, playability.
thats why i also agree movie megatrons toys = epic fail. i had my hopes up greatly for those toys, as i have always voiced that the designs looked cool even if i didnt think they suited megatron. and the toys are horrible and a great let down

this is megatron duing most of the first season, we saw unpainted protos of this at botcon, and again at sdcc. both prime and megs have a deluxe size pre earth form. i like it actualy, nice blend of movie and g1, without looking like a freakish baby eating monster made of metal shards.
i say give the show and toys a chance before you pass judgement. beastwars surprised people, and apperently, so has the movie.

I'm trying. But from what i've seen (and yes Night~Flare, sorry to disappoint you but my opinion is based on more than just this picture) i'm not particulary liking what i've seen so far.
