User NOTRAB on Chinese social media site weibo.com has taken some pictures of two new exclusive figures from China. Rusty Bumblebee and Camo Blackout are limited editon prizes for a Lucky Draw contest. Customers who purchased items from Hasbro China's TaoBao store on May the 15th were entered to win one these exclusive figures. NOTRAB seems to have won a Rusty Bumblebee. It appears to be inspired by how Bee looks in the first live action film when Sam Witwicky finds him at the used car lot. This Rusty Bumblebee is one of 300 figures. On the other hand there are only 88 Camo Blackouts made. Have a look below and tell us what you think of these figures. Would you want something like this in your country?

"Rusty" Bee looks pretty good, actually. It's a way better attempt at matching the look of his "junker" alt mode from the first movie than the 2007 toy was with it's weird blackwash paint apps. "Camo" Blackout just looks odd, though. Does he actually sport a camo pattern in the movie? If so, it's not that bright or contrasted.

Damn, once the contest is over, those will sell for a pretty premium.

both look pretty good. I do wish the rust was brought forward a little more in Bee's robot mode. While I do like the idea of camo on Blackout, i'm not sure which military that's mimicking that's not a US camo pattern I've seen before. The original release is already "low vis". If anything a sand camo would have made more sense (considering where the military base was in the movie).

That camo looks so awful I love it. I'd rather actually have that than the retail release figure! Bee looks really nice too. Too bad these will be EXPENSIVE on the after market. Maybe could do some kind of exclusive release for these, or a figure that looks similar? Probably not.

Meh. The car mode looks properly neat, but almost none of the rusty detail carry over to the robot mode (pretty much just the doors). I'm quite alright not hunting down one of these likely insanely expensive exclusive.

Wow, I am actually pretty livid about how small Blackout is now. I heard that he was sort of small for a Leader class toy, but now actually seeing this.... uuuuuuuurrrrgh. I'll need some time to cool down from this. I was getting so sick of when Hasbro makes a big huge character into a toy that ends up smaller than or as big as the toy size class lower, like with 2007 blackout, or animated bulkhead, or ... I dunno, maybe it was just those two, but I'm mad, let me be mad over childen's toys! XD
Why can't they get his size right? I still kinda want him, because it's an awesome design. I was even able to look past the weird wrists, and the arm kibble. But now add this to it and I'm just so disappointed with everything on the planet.
Still getting that Megatron though.

The Studio Series is making consistent movie accurate scales for characters throughout all classes. If Blackout is bigger, then Grimmlock is gonna be gigantic.
Also I think it's classified as Leader class because of its details and complexity. Not just size. Look at Voyager Megatron; there's a giant hole in the middle. Lol

For what it's worth... This helicopter mode is absolutely MASSIVE (albeit hollow). As Toy_Spectre mentioned he's got a lot going on mechanically (panels the rotor assembly and how it splits, etc). Grimlock is absolutely massive, but he's a *lot* more mechanically straight forward

Well, in the movie, Optimus comes up to the middle of Grimlock's shin! So Grimlock SHOULD be huge! That would be awesome! I still want a larger Blackout though! >:I

I've got an exclusive, guys! It turns out this special edition "Camo" Blackout is even more than meets the eye! Hasbro has retooled him a little bit to sneak in a third mode! That's right, Camo Blackout just might be a triple changer, compared to the normal retail version. The third mode is extremely compact, compared to how the normal helicopter alt mode is expansive bot hollow in many parts. Take a look below:
Impressive, right? Man, it's going to be a pain finding one of these on the aftermarket!

Scale for the 2007 bots seems pretty good going by this image. We need a new Studio Ironhide to complete the Autobot team.

That's a Neo Geo pocket. In term of perfeormance, it's between the GBC and the GBA. It was not popular thus making the console and it's games relatively rare.

unless I'm thinking of a different "import handheld" during my High School years... it wasn't that they were "unpopular" just "prohibitively expensive" (compared to Gameboys at the time). Also... it catered to the arcade crowd, while everyone else was busy with pokemon.

Back on topic (so weird for me to be the one saying that. )
Jazz review by PrimeVsPrime. His one seems to have some very slight vehicle mode gaps mine doesn't. He seems very happy with the figure anyways.
I can't seem to get youtube video embed working today. Dunno why but here's direct link.
EDIT: OK figured it out by copying my previous embedding of his Megatron video and changing the codey bit to match.
Made a lil edit to my Jazz, adding silver sharpie to the panels hip/leg ball joints and either side of the neck and blackened the knee areas. I wish I could think of some way to get his spoiler up behind his head like on the previous figures but that may be impossible. Either way I love this lil shiny dude. Way more than his 2007 and HA figures.

I know its a long shot, but if they ever released a proper combining Optimus and Jetfire from Revenge of the Fallen (Voyager Size), or a proper Devastator, I might actually buy those.

I've said this before, and I'll say it again now. I really hope the Studio Series will last a few years, at least long enough to get all the major on-screen characters represented. I'm a little worried now hearing that Paramount has officially removed Transformers 7 from their release schedule and that the next movie in the franchise will be in a rebooted continuity. I'm eagerly anticipating picking up Studio Series Jazz, Lockdown, Megatron, and Brawl, but I'll be Devastator devastated if we don't get a lot more out of this line besides the few obligatory Bumblebee movie figures later this year. Here's hoping for some good news from SDCC (which is still a couple of months away at this point).

Studio Series Leader Jetfire, combining with SS Voyager Optimus Prime. THIS time, screen accurate, partsforming be damned!
Seriously, compare this:
To that:

That Jetfire/Optimus combination was such a cool moment, I'm really bummed RotF was really the only film to have that type of combining, minus Infernocus.
I am also in that Devastator boat. And also an awesome Jetfire/Optimus combination. I still keep those 2 leaders like that a lot, but would love something closer to the CGI
