Also from Cybertron Con 2016, and not from Hasbro this time, is some news in the form of statues from Imaginarium Art - which we knew of for Soundwave and Hot Rod, but not for the Ultra Magnus figure seen below! Check out both some more Soundwave with cassettes (..sigh, Ravage..), and the Enforcer himself, courtesy of usual Weibo suspect 52toys.

These statues look great.... but they don't look all that much better than the Masterpiece toys of the same characters, don't transform and will probably cost significantly more.
I just don't see the point unless they can make these statues really affordable.

I agree. Whats with the Megatron and Starscream in the last pic? those I like.

Soundwave and the cassettes make for a nice display. They look pretty neat

That Soundwave statue is very epic. I like it. Don't mind too much the neutral pose Megatron statue in the background though either.

We saw the unpainted version of the officially licensed Imaginarium Art Soundwave statue, over at CybertronCon, and we now also have a very good look at it with some lovely paint coats applied. Check it all out below, in both video and images, which also show how you can swap out some parts for two different poses!

This may be a dumb questio but I am curious. Why would one get this over the very detailed, hghly poseable and exremely accurate Masterpiece figure?

I was about to ask the same thing. Plus, Rumble is the wrong colour for me. Something else the Masterpiece does right by offering both options.

I've already got a much better, transforming version of this. It's called Masterpiece Soundwave. Aside from being transformable & more articulated, it has the added bonus of remaining unstained by the crappy Bayverse Decepticon symbol, as seen on this overpriced heap.

Even if the statue was lower priced than the MP version, I would have chosen the MP Soundwave over this one in a heartbeat, without any doubt.
Poseable and transformable

I don't think the proportions are even quite right on this thing. The paint app is all it really has going for it in my opinion.

HA! Because that blue paint is what I like least about it. It looks like the wrong hue of blue.

The folks over at Imaginarium art, who are creating officially licensed Transformers statues of Soundwave and Ultra Magnus (and Rodimus), have popped by with an update in both video and image form for the latter! You can check them all out below for a nice look at the details on the Autobot City Commander, including the changeable pose, and let us know what you think in the Energon Pub.

Shame they didn't take a few minutes to figure out how the character transforms, would have kept them from sticking wheels on his arms for no reason. Could have been a nice statue, but now it just looks silly.

From their official Facebook page, Imaginarium Art have shared some renders for their upcoming licensed project to bring some troopbuilders to the line of highly detailed statues: The Sharkticons are a-coming! Check out the images below, and join in the conversation in the Energon Pub!
Any army that goes into battle needs the perfect foot soldiers. Especially those who see an Autobot as food on the victory table.

After the Sharkticon renders, Imaginarium art has shared on their Facebook page a look at their upcoming licensed statues of the little pests from Quintessa, and the Dinobot leader Grimlock - check out the image below, which also includes Wheelie, as they recreate the scene from the animated movie!
