We had already seen Grindor in package and now we have a better look at the figure, including a comparison to Blackout. This figure is very movie accurate since the computer model used for Grindor's robot mode in the film was the very same one as Blackout. The alt mode is painted differently to simulate the different alt mode Grindor had in the film. We also get a good look at the itty bitty Ravage figure that comes with him. These images were posted by TFSource on Facebook. Let us know what you think.

Grindor look really improved over Blackout.

I'll be taking him home!

It's sad that a repaint is my second favorite (only behind Dino) figure of the year so far. He looks so great and even though he is supposed to be larger than blackout, you can stretch the legs to make it look that way on the shelf! Hopefully I can find him soon at a store!

Don’t mean to stir up hate or anything, but seeing this just continues to baffle me as to why they didn’t include ravage with ROTF satellite soundwave. Ive thought it through so many times. After getting the soundwave figure in hand, his mold is crappy (IMO), he has virtually no paint on him, his transformation is not at all complex with any high parts count, he’s not an unusually big deluxe, and they didn’t even have to spend money on a licensed alt mode. The only accessory he came with was a tiny (way too short) satellite stand. How did they put all of those mentioned features on DOTM deluxe soundwave AND give us a little lazerbeak, but they couldn’t do it with rotf soundwave? Where did the budget go? Lol. And I know that’s kind of a rhetorical question, cause there’s the inevitable “because hasbro are scams and money grabbers” responses. But I just had to get that off my chest lol.

But yeah, I’ll grab this grindor just for ravage lol.

Still too small compared to other figures. Grindor was huge compared to Prime, Megs and Screamer.

I missed put on Blackout and never got him on the 2ndary market. I want Ravage and if I do get this pair in my headcanon Grindor will be Blackout, since the differences are small and Blackout was overall more important to the story, even if he still died in a senseless crappy way.

If Blackout survived the first movie and died in ROTF, he would have been even more of a legend than he already is.

Even though they didn’t remold the alt mode, I am impressed that they changed the deco to match a CH-53, especially with the numbering and that gray area on the front. Very excited to get it!

Blackout has been greenlit for MPM. The absolute earliest we see him is 2023, but it's much more likely to be 2024 for him.

I have some SS and other figures up for sale on a different thread here. I have seen some people saying that they regret not picking up some figures, well maybe I can help with that! Check out the link to the thread below!

PvP SS Grindor

I could be wrong, but does Ravage share at least some engineering with the Siege Lionizer Battlemaster? there wasn't a size comparison, so I'm not sure. It could be larger, but just looked really small next to Grindor.

Greetings Seibertronians! YouTube reviewer PrimeVsPrime is back at it again, this time with a video review of the upcoming Studio Series leader class Grindor and Ravage!

Grindor a redeco and slight retool of the previous leader class Blackout. He sports a new, dirter deco to represent his appearance in the forest fight in Revenge of the Fallen. While Grindor's alt mode did not receive any retooling, his helicopter mode has been decoed to emulate the CH-53 Sea Stallion he transformed into in the movie. The most notable feature, however, is Grindor's retooled hands. They now have additional articulation in the wrists and fingers, fixing the main problem many had with Blackout. Grindor also comes with a small Ravage figure, replacing the Scorponok figure that came with Blackout.

Special thanks to fellow Seibertron users O.supreme, and Dominus Prime, for sharing this news with us!

The review is embedded below for your convenience.

What do you think of Grindor? Are you excited for the retooled hands? Will you be getting it for Ravage? Let us know in the Energon Pub forums!

Oh lord, I could make a list of what I never even saw in stores:

1. Almost all of wave 3, 4 and 5 deluxes,(DotM Ratchet, Shadow Raider, VW Bee, KSI Sentry, Clunker Bee, Barricade, Sideswipe, "Crankcase"). I think the only ones I ever saw in-stores was helicopter Dropkick and WW2 Bee. Also have yet to see RotF Soundwave.

2. For voyagers, I never saw RotF Starscream, Sentinel Prime, and multiple Constructicons (Long Haul, Mixmaster and Skipjack).

3. Only leader I never saw was Jetfire.

As far as my memory serves, think I've seen every SS release at least once up here in the north. Some stuck around alot longer than others, some where here and gone in a day. Not much rhyme or reason  Oh except for DoTM Leader Megs, there was an absolute avalanche of them here for some reason

DOTM Megs seems to be the Leader that nobody wanted and unfortunately was one Hasbro repacked. He hung around forever in my area as well. Heck, Target even lowered him to $34.70 or something like that online early last year just to move them (that's how I got mine).

BEES!

After finding Offroad Bee at a collectors store, I now have every Studio Series Bumblebee mold!

Offroad Bee is great, easily the best figure of Bee from that movie. Not entirely sure of where it falls in the total ranking yet - SS-49/74 is still definitely at the top, and I think Offroad is either 2nd or 3rd. Either way, very glad to add this Bee to the collection!

Thanks! I actually do have 24/25 (found them for cheap at Ollie's), but I'm keeping them in box since I have both of those molds already opened from different releases.

I am going to pick up Clunker Bee (SS-27) if I can find it, I like SS-01 and the pinned windshield joint and weathering are some great changes.

Don't plan on picking up 15, 19, or 20 though. I suppose if I couldn't find Clunker Bee, I could get Buzzworthy SS-15 (since it also has the pinned windshield) and try weathering it myself.

Nice find! (And impressive Bee hive) Jeep Bee is one of my favorite Studio Series toys and ironically just brought him out for my desk the other night. Both modes are so nice and hold together really well, so much so that it'll probably stay as my default Bumble for my movie style collection, unless of course the rumored (confirmed) DoTM one looks like a banger when it gets revealed

Just some weird geek fun math. There are 79 SS releases so far. 13 are versions of Bumblebee. So 1-in-6 of every SS is a Bumblebee toy  .

Thanks! I'm really excited (and a little nervous) about an eventual DOTM Bee since it's my favorite version. SS-49 is an excellent starting point, but there's a lot of remolding they would have to do. They'd have to redo the center of the chest piece, the collar pieces, the back of the car to get the spoiler, and the grill/front section. They did do more remolding than I thought they would with ROTF Bee though, so here's hoping they go all out for it!

Bee's lower wings in DOTM are formed by the spoiler instead of the small window sections, like in the prior designs. I guess they could do that by having a faux-spoiler fold out of the doors and have the window section attached to some of the other vehicle mode parts instead, but I think I could forgive if they kept the smaller wing system from SS-49.

Thanks to Seibertronian EvasionModeBumblebee, we were pointed in the direction of Twitter user @morgan_dfx, who posted pictures of a haul of new Kingdom Deluxes, along with Studio Series Wreck-Gar and what appears to be the rumored Bumblebee Movie Starscream repaint of Thrust! This figure appears to be a straight repaint of Starscream, with his color scheme of greens and white homaging Armada Thrust, rather than the maroon and black of G1 Thrust.

It still hasn't been revealed what figure is coming in the wave with Wreck Gar, though this figure seems a good bet.

It’s not actually a straight Starscream repaint - it has Blitzwing’s head sculpt and a new conehead hood thing behind his head.

I’m interested in seeing more pictures of this one, but overall I’m kinda meh - I like the Blitzwing head sculpt, but the conehead hood just seems a little weird with where it sits.

SS Blitzwing made me ANGRY. I just can't understand the praise of that figure because as you say, the quality is horrendous.

The one I should have hated, that weird SS Bee Starscream, I was pleasantly surprised by. Also, solid overall.

SS Blitzwang as I call him, was fun out of the box, but over timed I soured on him somewhat. It does have good qualities but for me it gets weighed down by the junk. The Bmovie Starscream is an absolute knock out and surprised me with how much I enjoyed it. So if anybody out there is in the fence about, I'd recommend giving the mold a try if you where unhappy with Blitzwang OR just want to check out a really cool transformation and figure

Both molds were pretty solid to me, but I’d only want the other seekers in the BB Starscream mold, mainly for that tetrajet alt mode. I actually adore everything about it and would love an army of seekers with that flight form. Whereas I’d die inside to see virtually any other repaint of Blitzwing’s awful jet mode. I’m mainly just impressed that hasbro gave us two nearly identical looking robot modes with completely different transformations, molds and al modes. For the first time in a while im Looking forward to some seeker repaints.

I don't see how this is Thrust, but whatever. In a soft reboot which is supposed to have characters closer in appearance to the Original Transformers, one would think this would be Acid Storm. Just another name slap unfortunately.

As it has been stated countless times above, This is supposed to be a callback to Armada Thrust who was green and grey. Not everything has to reference back to G1. If you want him to be called Acid Storm in your collection, go right ahead.

Why would they homage Armada Thrust in a film that homages the original Transformers? TRUE not everything has to be about The Transformers, but it was obvious where the BB movie was taking its designs from, and it wasn't Armada.

I'm really not upset, just pointing out a lack of logic/consistency. They can call him Sunstorm for all I care, it's just odd is all. Also good to know how high you can count since ONE person stated it was based on Armada Thrust, and one other person quoted it.

Probably because they didn't want to have three red Seeker jets in the movie (the other two being Starscream and Blitzwing), and Armada Thrust is the better Thrust.

G1 Thrust is a nobody. The main reason people ever want his toys is because he's part of a Seeker trio that they want to see complete. I couldn't tell you a thing about his personality if you paid me, and I'm me!

Armada Thrust, meanwhile, is a crafty tactician who starts off cool and collected but becomes more deranged and loony over time as he further descends into madness before finally swearing allegiance to Unicron after weighing the inevitability of Unicron being the winning side of the war (which proves to be a mistake on his part as no one on Unicron's side ever saw the power of love and friendship overcoming the power of an eldritch dark god, but such is the nature of a children's anime series).

Also, the English dub is not the end-all be-all version of Armada.

Twitter user @morgan_dfx has posted more images of the upcoming Studio Series Thrust. This figure is accurate to how Thrust appeared in the Bumblebee movie thanks to some remolding from the Starscream mold. The colours appear to be an homage to Armada thrust, rather than the maroon and black of G1 Thrust. The images below show him in alt mode and also shows him with his wingtips pointed down in robot mode which is accurate to this cg model.

It still hasn't been revealed what figure is coming in the wave with Wreck Gar, though this figure seems a good bet.

What do you think about this figure being potentially released? Let us know what you think below!

Thrust definitely looks better in the new pics, I gotta say it's growing on me.

Your opinion, but ok. I'm the opposite, I can tell you way more about Thrust than Armada Thrust.

Of all people, I appreciate, that you appreciate the Micron Legends version, because yes it does make the series a bit more tolerable. But let's be honest, most UT fans haven't bothered to seek it out. In fact, that entire series could benefit from a redub to fix dialogue errors, (and to present the animation corrections completed later for the Japanese version) and finally to recast at least some of the characters' voices, that might make it slightly better in english at least.

I was about to question why those colours, until I saw it paired to the Armada version of the character. Still, I'm pretty attached to the original Conehead so, should I ever buy something like that, I'll probably come up with an original name... something like "Mint Storm"? :-P

This ended up being one of my favorite alt modes so I'm buying every one they release. The robot mode is really cool but it's the jet mode that really shines here.

I'll probably get 2 of these because adding more green & making Acid Storm is just too easy.

For my meaningless two cents, the Armada version of Thrust is the only one of the two that I could tell someone anything about, and I've watched all of the G1 cartoon and none of Armada.

Here's my next custom: Hightower!

I will be taking a short hiatus from these projects because I got accepted to Medical school! I will be bringing my paint stuff and a couple bots with me, but it'll take a while to pack and get set up there. Projects will be slower going forwards, but I will definitely keep at it!
