When will Hasbro admit they're doing that just for nostalgia's sake?

I was thinking the same thing. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

though im surprised theres no pics of him in torso mode. this guy has given us arm and leg shots for the other guys so far hasnt he?
Posted by Evil Eye on December 5th, 2014 @ 1:11pm CST
That aside though he looks cool. A good idea for a Shapeways kit for this guy would be some clip-on armour/boosters that make his underside kibble look more like a set of boosters/FAST pack. Shouldn't be too difficult- just give him a few intakes, panels, boosters and such and it should look much better. If someone were to do the same to the TFC Silverbolt I'd buy it.
Posted by Nemesis Maximo on December 5th, 2014 @ 1:11pm CST
I know why that is, because his arms are his legs in torso mode. It just looks like every day is arm day.

I bought the Generations Tankor and have been reading the Dark Cybertron storyline therein. In the issue with the aforementioned figure, there is a part where Ultra Magnus and Co are traveling through Metroplex and they decide to get out and look for something. They do, and end up in a big circle back where they came from. It is then revelaed that one of the minicons had seemingly planted a bomb on their escape pod/ship, and proceeded to blow it up. Then, a few panels later, they were crusing along int he ship like nothing happened?
WTF?

Pages are out of order in the pack-in comics. For the correct order, go pick up More than Meets the Eye #26 in Tankor's case.

For some reason, every copy of the comic issue that was packed with the Tankor toy was printed with its pages horrendously out of order. The pages are fine in the original non-toy printing, but no one really knows what happened with the toy pack-in version.shockblast2 wrote:Quick question guys

Early days, but I wonder if there's any chance of seeing an updated Prowl & the Constructicons in the Combiner Wars line.

I wondered what hell happened......
Can you fill me in briefly? How did they get the ship back together or how did they get out of Metroplex without the ship?

Because he isn't? Drag Strip is still a Stunticon but he'll be in the same wave as the 4 Aerialbots shown. The packaging just illustrates you can mix-and-match, and can make a giant with any 4 limbs of any sub-group.

Well, yeah, but that's because Optimus is in this wave too, so both Voyagers use the same limbs on their packaging to advertise the combiner gimmick with the specific Deluxe toys that will be concurrently available with the two Voyagers.william-james88 wrote:Holy SH!T, I hadnt even noticed that. That makes this the same configuration as Ultra Prime.

Wait a sec, they arent releasing all the aerialbots in wave one?!?!?!?!!?
The wait for an updated Superion is killing me enough as it is, I dont know how I will be if I have a superion missing one limb for months!

Yeah, it's going to frustrate me too. I'm not really digging Menasor, he just looks weird with his wide chest and the head sculpt looks poor.
They're not giving you the full set for two main reason. They want to keep you invested in the line, so you end up buying Dragstrip just as a filler until you wait for Air Raid, and then since you have Dragstrip you decide to get the full Stunticon set. Second reason is that they're doing it to promote the whole chop and change gimmick, which I'm really not interested in. Don't want my Superion with a Stunticon arm, or a Menasor with Prime as the chest.
I'm just going to buy them as they come out and pose them individually until the set is complete. After that they'll be in combined mode for 99% of the time anyway.

I love the scramble-city style action they got going on, especially since some of the characters may be on different sides in the comics which is were I'll be basing my collection on.

Hasbro happened to Hasbro.
That 2010 Windcharger screams, "I was designed soley by Takara".

I'm happy we're getting two complete combiners in two Waves. They could have gone the evil route and introduced the third combiner in the second wave and leave the second hanging. I mean look at Energon:
Wave 6
Superion Maximus
Treadshot
Sky Shadow
Constructicon Maximus
Sledge
Duststorm
Wave 7
Superion Maximus
Terradive
Windrazor
Bruticus Maximus
Stormcloud
Kickback
Wave 8
Bruticus Maximus
Blight
Blackout
Constructicon Maximus
Wideload
Bonecrusher

Well it's not like there's a rule stating a character can only ever get one toy. But I'm guessing the idea here is:
a) the older Windcharger was hard to find, so another go at it should help
b) Tailgate was originally a retool of Windcharger, so they're kinda repeating it here (same with Gears and Swerve)
I'd have preferred Trypticon's minion Wipe-Out.

The US release date should be late December/Early January. Just a little longer...
ZeroWolf wrote:Wow that was evil, did they get packaged as giftsets at all?
This is weird: in the US they were only available individually. But in Japan, they were only available in giftsets. Superion and Bruticus were general retail, but Buildron (Constructicon Maximus) was a Toys 'R Us exclusive there.

My confusion is more about how much of a downgrade this new Windchanger is, not necessarily that he comes out. I for one wish there was a new legends wheelie, but I sure hope it would be better than the last. It's the hands that really get to me, it looks like such lazy design to have them simply be uncolored sculpts of the plastic.
Posted by ZeroWolf on December 5th, 2014 @ 5:48pm CST
As for it being better or worse. That's subjective.

Ah. The Legends are a bit smaller than the old Scouts, so there'd be more limitations they'd have to deal with. Beyond that... well, I do think the designs haven't been quite so good since then, but that's an opinion and not an answer, heh.

To be fair, you don't have a lot of options with storage with a Concorde jet.
There's just no room for parts without them hanging off the wings or fuselage. Unless you want to look like this guy:
