It's the figure that many fans have been holding out for. And with a new day ushers in new photos of the much anticipated Takara Leader Class Jetwing Optimus Prime. These photos from AC-Toys show the Autobot leader decked out with dual machine guns, and jet-pack weaponry.

This figure is exclusive to Takara Tomy, and the base figure is ROTF Buster Optimus Prime without the shiny silver paint job. This is confirmed from the fact that the 2 gas tanks that transform to hand guns are present in this figure.

Small modification on the figure is noted especially on the stomach of Optimus Prime. This may lead to the possibility of the Jetwing parts being incompatible with the old Revenge of the Fallen Leader Class Optimus Prime mold. His backpack, unlike Hasbro's Ultimate version, does not form a trailer, but instead folds into an arsenal for Prime's vehicle mode. Check out the images below!

Most likely $120 or so.

Buster Prime on his own went for about $80.00 after import, with this massive accessory piece, I could see it easily going for $120.00

We haven't had this one. This has the transformable gun, plus the redesigned chest. Might even have the redesigned arms (like the CGI), so technically, no. We don't have this one.

If you look closely at the back of the box, you'll see a pic in the upper right corner that looks like a removeable gas tank, so it looks like it.

This. Buster Prime looks better than this one without the jetpack, and if I wanted a jetwing Prime, I'd get one where the pieces form a trailer. Unless a mighty trailer for ROTF Prime is made, I guess its the Ultimate for me.

Hey all, Before you make up your mind to buy this figure, Let me remind you that there are/were some flaws about this figure.

Why not to buy.

1: No moveable fingers.
2: Green light lights up in Head. "While saying i am Optimus Prime"
3: Transparent windows.
4: No crome or metallic paint.
5: Leg and arms articulation is very less.
6: Smokestacks are short.

Why to buy.

1: Mechtech and Mechalive gears technology together in this figure.
2: Mechtech Jetwing pack.
3: Modified chest.

Now it is up to you if you want to buy. If you dont have this figure then buy it on sight. If you have the ROTF Leader OP figure then think again, You can get another leader class figure in that amount of cash.

BTW, Does this figure have any Mechtech port?

Actually if you own ROTF leader class buster optimus prime you will easily find out the difference between these 2 figures. I saw the youtube video too. I am not sure of 1 thing and that is if this figure has any mechtech ports.

As in wait for hasbro's ultimate prime or their (unlikely) release of the voyager? Cos ive seen Ultimate prime on display and the trailer is wayyy of scale... its too wide. Same goes for prime in alt mode.

Ditto! I've learnt the hard way that while we can get excited over new figures that come out, there will ALWAYS be another version. You can bet that if the base is exactly the same, the paintjob will be as well. Of course, there's no guarantee it'll always be an improvement. Some like the TFTM Deluxe Brawl and Bonecrusher make me very glad I got the original colours.

I wonder who decides on repaint colours? Over the years I've seen godawful repaints that makes me think the decision-maker should be shot.

Yeah, I really think they broke the mould on that one, and was really looking forward to seeing what advances they'd bring to the DOTM line. Especially after I saw the engineering that went into Leader Sentinel Prime. Was really hoping that DOTM would have oustanding leader Prime and Megatron. I'm not impressed with what I've seen of Ultimate.

But yup, ROTF Prime is going to be hard to beat!

There won't be a Hasbro version. The Japanese writing on the box is a dead giveaway.

I knew this was a Japanese Leader version, I should have been more clearer. I'll be getting Hasbro's Voyager version. That will be enough. This is way too much for a not very impressive figure.

I really want this but I already have ROTF prime, I wish I was a customizer or knew a customizer so he can customize my other one if I get this, I was really hoping for the buster prime paint job and I was hoping they would find a way to make a removable face plate

I do like this, but I honestly think I prefer the original Buster Prime with the chrome and white highlights around the flames. I think I even prefer his combined form with Jetfire.

Actually people... I know the gas tanks are separated, but they don't look like they can transform, they don't have any lines on them... besides, the back image doesn't mention them either...and what troubles me the most is the fact that, shiny paint job aside, he has that red in his toes again!!! I don't think that's Buster Prime...I think it's ROTF Prime Remolded, an that the gas tanks are removable so that you can attach the jetpack, not for turning into a gun...

This fig is a must-have for me. Sure he doesn't come with a trailer, but he's got a super-awesome screen-accurate weapons package [looks like the one from the teaser at least].

Bought on sight. Thank goodness for a friendly neighborhood hobby store that happens to carry Japanese imports.

Well, I'm going to go completely against popular opinion on this figure and say that this is one of the most ridiculous looking pieces of plastic crap I've seen come out of this line...so far. I have the highest faith that there is going to be something far more outrageously butt-ugly but for now this one is at the top of the list. Every time they re-do Prime, in my opinion, they make him look more and more goofy. The fact that they have 19 versions of this figure in varying sizes more than a month before the movie is released is also one more thing that has made this toy line something to loathe rather than look forward to. I'll watch the movie but the toy line can burn in some festering slag pit for all I care. They've taken things too far and have made a once enjoyable hobby something to be despised. :BOOM:
